Hello Smile

As title says ttc #1, cycle 1, 30 yo. I got my 1st flashing smiley this morning on the CB test.

Thought it would be nice to hear from other ladies in a similar position.

I’m confused what CD this is for me. I have another full thread on this so won’t rewrite it here but if anyone can help me on that thread (title: my first ever flashing smiley please help) I’d be grateful as I’m very confused. This may be CD10 for me or may be CD5 Confused

How are your new journeys going? Smile

I just confirmed the static with a different CB machine and got another static and then confirmed with a line opk and it’s extremely positive so deffo at my peak. I feel nervous now like it’s a race against time lol but I need to remember this is only cycle 1 so best to try to relax and see what happens Smile

Hi all! 👋 Hope it's ok if I join?

Currently waiting for ovulation this month, on CD26 and still nothing. I'm so impatient, no idea how people cope during the tww 😂 Only came off the pill in October so I guess my cycles are still irregular. Just want to start trying already, we're dtd every 2-3 days but I'm also tracking using OPKs and premom to find my peak.
Good luck everyone! 🤞

Newbiemg · 19/12/2021 11:52

Welcome @kitkat89 Smile

I think it can take a few months after the pill to get back to “normal” so wouldn't worry.

I think as well some people find that they can get a not positive opk in the morning then a peak in the afternoon and it’s gone again by morning some months so could be worth testing more than once a day close to your predictive ov day incase you miss it.

Sending you lots of luck Flowers

I’m day 2 of positive OPKs. Had a static smiley at 11am yesterday on CB and a little later a positive on cheapie line test. Today again had another static on different CB at 11am and a positive on cheapie OPK.

So I’m assuming I haven’t ovulated yet but guessing I will today/tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing? Smile

Can you take a photo of your cheapies? I bet you will be fine.

I always find it a bit confusing but isn't it you ovulate anywhere from like 12-36 hours after your first peak/positive OPK?
Definitely AF here but VERY light so far which is weird for me, although I've been on contraception for 10 years now so things may have changed. Still feeling very weird the past few weeks but hopefully next cycle will be a bit more 'normal'.

I've just found out on average you ovulate 10-12 hours from your peak opk then add on the average longevity of an egg being 12 hours some less some more can be upto 24 but to be safe say 12. You basically have less than 24 hours from the peak for the sperm to get to the egg and penetrate it for it to be healthy for implantation. Sperm takes a few hours to get up there so you either want it sitting waiting just before you peak or bang on your peak as it can still fertilise and egg at its latest age but this is less likely to result in a successful implantation. This must be the reason they say the 2 days leading up and the day of ovulation as close as possible to the egg being released you've dtd are the best. Me being a bit older 36 I've been reading and reading and reading about this and I think I've actually confused myself more tbh lol.
Newbiemg · 20/12/2021 18:11

Sorry for delayed reply @Jayjane79 once I’m home I’ll post some pics of my OPKs but I’m totally confused today.

I had 3 days of a static smiley which I’m sure isn’t right. I used CB machine and got a static which stays on for 48 hours. Used a different machine the day after and got a static. Then today I used my original device now that the static has come off and this morning got another static and then this afternoon a blank circle.

I know you shouldn’t test after first static but I did because today I’ve had loads of cramping and a lot more ewcm way more than any other day and if I hadn’t tested I would have guessed today was my peak from my symptoms. My ewcm has even increased a noticeable amount this evening compared to this morning.

I think I’m going to just ignore the opks this month and dtd for a couple more days and hope for the best lol Confused

I’m thinking it’s going to take me a little while to understand my body. Considering trying temping and charts maybe next cycle.

Hope everyone is ok Flowers

@Newbiemg sounds like you just need to listen to your body and hope for the best. These things aren't always reliable! AF is in full slow for me, thank god I use a menstrual cup!! Happy that it should only be a few weeks before ovulating again to continue trying!

jadew88 · 20/12/2021 19:47

Hi ladies!

TTC #1, cycle 1.

15dpo now, probably just symptoms spotting, however I have had really sore, heavy boobs for around a week. Had a couple of days of random waves of nausea. Abdominal cramping which I very rarely get with AF. AF due any time between yesterday and Wednesday. Started with some light bleeding yesterday that has continued but stayed light. Like a light period. If this was AF it would normally be much heavier by now. Also woke in the middle of the night last night with terrible sweats!

Tested every couple of days with BFNs including this morning.

Do we just think this is a lighter than normal AF and I'm just symptom spotting?

HelloPippa · 20/12/2021 20:37

@Newbiemg if in doubt, DTD!

@jadew88 welcome! All sounds promising symptom-wise but not much to do but wait it out and keep testing. What pregnancy tests have you used?

A mixture of different types of cheapies, one CB digital and one Clear and Simple early. The last one was this morning and negative, and the bleeding has become heavier so I think that's me out this month!

HelloPippa · 23/12/2021 15:00

@jadew88 ah sorry to hear that. Onto next month!

Jayjane79 · 23/12/2021 16:36

Ladies advice is this a faulty one step or the start of something ? Easy at home is negative but not sure if the one step is more sensitive.

@Jayjane79 can definitely see a faint line! Did this appear within the time frame? Also some tests will test before others so maybe just keep on trying over the coming days to see if you get any line progression. Good luck 😁

Yes was definitely in the time frame it just became a better darker line with time.

Newbiemg · 24/12/2021 10:28

@CrazyCatLady95 yes I think you’re right. Good luck for your next cycle Smile

Welcome @jadew88 sorry to hear AF may have arrived but lots of luck for your next cycle Smile

@Jayjane79 I can see a line! Fingers firmly crossed for you Flowers

It’s 5dpo for me (I think) I’m going by my first positive opk. I’m fully expecting to get AF this month as I don’t think we timed things right and maybe had some faulty opks. AF due on 3rd Jan.

Next cycle I’m going to start temping and charting so I can hopefully pin point ovulation better and also I got some more line opks to I can watch line progression. I will still use the CB I think as well as but they seemed to work abit strange for me last month.

Might try EPO too. Go all out and see what happens.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Xmas Smile

Hi @Newbiemg & all 😊

CD19 for me, think ovulation was yesterday. Did the SMEP this month, I am honestly exhausted 😂 can’t remember if I mentioned about drinking grapefruit juice to boost EWCM but seemingly it did nothing for me. If anything I had less than last month!

How is everyone else?

Newbiemg · 01/01/2022 13:37

@HelloPippa

I’ve read about SMEP and yes sounds exhausting haha but fingers crossed it’s done the trick for you!

I remember you mentioning Grapefruit Juice. I bought some EPO for this cycle for EWCM then realised it’s EPO and Star Oil but I think it will work the same.

I felt abit sad earlier I got AF a couple of days early and I think it hit me over Christmas how much I actually want to be a mum because I was around all the children in my family and realised I’m the last one of my generation without any. I knew I did want children of course but it sort of hit me suddenly today and I felt abit overwhelmed.

Very early in my journey though and I realise it could take a while and I’m only just starting cycle 2 so being silly probably AF hormones lol. I’m feeling better this afternoon and ready to go again Smile

@Newbiemg hello everyone.
I'm currently CD 14 was expecting to see some positive OPKs around this time but nothing yet!
OH is on night shift next week which I'm not ideal at all as we're on complete opposites! So just hoping we can time it right!

HelloPippa · 01/01/2022 15:20

@Newbiemg ah I’m sorry, it’s not an easy time for sure - you will get there too though. Most of my friends (early 30s) actually haven’t started TTC/ having kids yet, I’ll be one of the first.

I feel the same way about being on cycle 2, it doesn’t feel like ‘early days’ when you can’t stop thinking about it.

I will also try EPO next cycle if nothing this time. What CD are you on now?

@CrazyCatLady95 I don’t have enough confidence in my cheap OPKs which was part of the reason we went for SMEP! Hope you guys manage to find enough time

kitkat89 · 01/01/2022 15:32

Happy new year all, here's to 2022 being a lucky year for everyone Smile

Currently on 3DPO, caught my peak on CD35. Only managed to DTD on CD34 and CD36 so keeping my fingers crossed.

Newbiemg · 02/01/2022 00:15

@HelloPippa I’m CD1 of cycle 2 got AF today. Last cycle I think I ovulated around CD13/14. I’m trying temping this month so should get a better idea.

@CrazyCatLady95 I hope it all works out for you timing wise!

@kitkat89 sending you lots of luck and baby dust in your tww Smile
