Hello Smile

As title says ttc #1, cycle 1, 30 yo. I got my 1st flashing smiley this morning on the CB test.

Thought it would be nice to hear from other ladies in a similar position.

I’m confused what CD this is for me. I have another full thread on this so won’t rewrite it here but if anyone can help me on that thread (title: my first ever flashing smiley please help) I’d be grateful as I’m very confused. This may be CD10 for me or may be CD5 Confused

How are your new journeys going? Smile

What CD are you on @Pops100? I think it’s quite normal for them to be fairly low and then suddenly shoot up to a peak ☺️ It may also be a little funky after coming off hormonal contraception. It took my body about 6 months to regulate last time!

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 00:07

Hi @Pops100 that’s normal for any time except your peak pretty much ❤️ Sometimes you can have a peak that lasts a day or two but mine are quite fast - usually only catch it on one test and the it’s gone again.

Newbiemg · 22/01/2022 00:27

Have any of you heard of or used Isoflavones? I’ve just been reading about them and lots of success stories.

@lakejupiter @Pickles91 thank you for the reassurance I'm such a panicker and obsess over it all 😂 I'm only on CD12 so still got plenty of time ... that's what I keep telling myself anyways 🤣

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 00:44

@Newbiemg I keep hearing about them too. Here’s my current list of supplements etc ive seen recommended on here - not sure where to start 😂 (I already do some of these but most of them are new to me!)

Ttc #1 and cycle 1. Anyone else?
lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 00:45

(FYI some of them are medications and supplements to ask my dr about via PCOS threads)

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 00:48

Absolutely @Pops100 - and if in doubt just start TTC! I have a 30/31 day cycle and usually get my peak on day 15 but this month was day 17. It always feels like it will never arrive but it usually does 😂

RMS0209 · 22/01/2022 07:52

BFN for me today, hope everybody has a lovely day! Maybe next month Smile xx

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 08:59

I’m sorry to hear that @RMS0209 - fingers Xed for feb. Same here I think. I got the same as yesterday - a super faint line you can barely see. Pretty sure it’s an indent as it’s got no darker since yest, but will test again in a few days if AF doesn’t arrive ❤️

RMS0209 · 22/01/2022 09:01

@lakejupiter keep me updated! I didn't even have an indent of a 2nd line... so fingers crossed for Feb for us if need be 💕💖✨

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 09:15

Hope you’re feeling okay @RMS0209 - such a rollercoaster but glad we all have this thread! Feb BFPs ✨✨✨

The indent is weird. I would have assumed it would get darker - at least a little - in 24 hours. But it’s pretty much the same as yesterday - barely visible to the human eye! Im 11dpo so maybe it’s too early but I would think an FRER would be able to properly detect any hormones by now. So gonna go about my weekend and assume it’s a BFN for now ❤️

Off for a swim in the North Sea this afternoon!

SMD16 · 22/01/2022 09:47

Ah im sorry @RMS0209 sending lots of love and luck for Feb cycle 💜

Newbiemg · 22/01/2022 11:27

@RMS0209 sorry to hear that. I hope you’re feeling ok. We’re here for you and it’s still early days. You can join the Feb club with me. Sending lots of luck for your next cycle ✨

@Newbiemg @SMD16
Thanks for being a great bunch, feel like I ruined the good positive testing vibes

Hope you guys have a good weekend
@lakejupiter hope you enjoyed the swim today

Chinese tonight - eat all my feelings ha ha.

Newbiemg · 22/01/2022 12:54

@RMS0209 No! Of course not. You didn’t ruin anything and remember although we all started this group at a similar time we are all in different cycles ttc. Some of us are cycle 1, some cycle 2, some cycle 3 etc.

I was really disappointed last cycle when I got bfn but once you get back to your opk testing you focus on that and it starts getting exciting again.

Enjoy that Chinese! 😊

@RMS0209 I'm sorry to hear that but I hope next month is your month 🤞😘 as @Newbiemg said it's still early days and we are all here to chat to! x

@lakejupiter hopefully you will know more in a few days! Enjoy your swim! How cold will it be? 🥶 x

Newbiemg · 22/01/2022 14:42

Ive noticed I get a really bad headache when I ovulate does anyone else?

OP posts:
RMS0209 · 22/01/2022 16:24

@Newbiemg not noticed it before, those cool and soothe patches are great if you have any shops near you that do them. Hope you feel better soon x

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 16:58

Thanks all. Sea was 5 degrees 🥶 was lovely to have a day out and feel much better. I read some reviews of the FRER tests I bought from Amazon and apparently they may be knock offs - I guess next time will buy from Boots instead but I wonder if that's to blame for the indent lines.

I'm going to step away from the tests and let nature take its course, I have found the inconclusive tests from the last couple of days a bit traumatising! All my symptoms from the past few days have also disappeared as of this morning - no more AF cramps or twinges or bloating - and I did a one step test with the same urine as the FRER this morning and it was a BFN. So all the signs are pointing to being out and AF appearing - I guess I will know for sure if my temp drops over the next couple of days. Making peace with it ❤️

Pickles91 · 22/01/2022 17:19

Sorry about the BFN @RMS0209. February will be your month! And a Chinese sounds like an amazing plan. You have me craving one now and it’s only 9am 👀

Sorry your tests are being a bit weird @lakejupiter. Hopefully it’ll all become clear in the next day or two. It takes 48 hours for hcg to properly increase so there is time, and if it isn’t your month, then it just means your stuck TTC with us a tiny bit longer. You’re very brave swimming in the sea in jan! Holy…😱 bet it was bloody refreshing though!

I haven’t noticed any symptoms when I ovulate @Newbiemg. If I consistently ovulate… welcome to the TWW. Glad to have some more company! Currently reminding myself that it’s waaaay too early to even touch a test!

How are those OPKs looking today @Pops100?

Well my skin is starting to break out, which is consistent with this time of my cycle. Joy 😂 gotta love still getting acne at 30 (almost 31)!

On the soy isoflavones chat, maybe they’re the ones that you increase the dose of each day. I’ve had a tab open for them for a while. I’m getting married very soon and don’t want to add any new vits before then and risk messing up my cycle and having AF on the big day, but might grab some for after, along with some low dose aspirin since I apparently have quite a thin lining. If nothing goes weird, I’ll be ovulating on our honeymoon. Talk about good timing!!!

Pickles91 · 22/01/2022 17:19

Yikes that’s was long. Sorry!!

RMS0209 · 22/01/2022 17:32

Thank you! Needed that 😀 @Pickles91

@lakejupiter go you with the sea swimming today, just what you needed I bet.
Sorry to hear about the Amazon tests - not good if that's the case! But you know for next month direct to Boots/COOP or wherever

lakejupiter · 22/01/2022 18:09

Congrats on the impending wedding @Pickles91 ❤️ how many DPO are you? I get breakouts during luteal phase too - I guess it's all the oestrogen?

I feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of supplements that have been suggested to me! I'm also waiting to see an endocrinologist about my PCOS and insulin resistance so I might wait to see them before I add anything else into the mix (at the mo just taking Pregnacare conception supplements and vitamin D and a few others I was already taking anyway) (oh and Brazil nuts and grapefruit juice but they're just yummy tbh). def gonna look into Isoflavins post endo appt though
