Ttc #1 and cycle 1. Anyone else?

As title says ttc #1, cycle 1, 30 yo. I got my 1st flashing smiley this morning on the CB test.

Thought it would be nice to hear from other ladies in a similar position.

I’m confused what CD this is for me. I have another full thread on this so won’t rewrite it here but if anyone can help me on that thread (title: my first ever flashing smiley please help) I’d be grateful as I’m very confused. This may be CD10 for me or may be CD5

@CrazyCatLady95 I read somewhere that the HCG levels increase every 48 hours. Maybe try wait until Saturday morning? Although I know I wouldn't be able to wait to be fair 😂

So this month we are trying to be fairly chilled, because we weren’t meant to start properly trying til next month! But I’m using OPKs to figure out when I ovulate (a previous blood test confirms I do, but when…no bloody clue!!!). I’m CD11 today and no peak yet. I got 0.79 on CD8 weirdly and then back down to around 0.3. I haven’t tested today as I’m actually 8 hours behind the UK and just woke up.

Congrats on the BFP @CrazyCatLady95! Hopefully this bus gives us all a bit of luck 🍀

We have a little calendar going of testing dates. Roughly 2 weeks after our predicted ov day some of us may decide to test early or later or ov may arrive at a different time than predicted but still to test this month….

@HMFx - 23rd
@5manc- 23rd/24th
@lakejupiter - 24th/25th
@SMD16 - 30th
@Newbiemg- 30th/31st

@pickles91 - I had nothing until CD14 static clear blue, tied up with some cheapie ovulation strips

I’m CD9 today. I thought I was further long and CD13 but I realised I had been logging my AF wrong. I’d been logging the spotting I had prior to AF as CD1 but have learnt this cycle that I’m not supposed to do that learning lots as I go. This is cycle 2 ttc for me.

Last cycle I was using the CB tests and I got 8 days of flashing smileys starting on CD5 and then got my peak static on CD13. This cycle I got my first flashing smiley CD7 and my app is saying I’m ovulating on Monday which is CD13.

I must admit though I’m still abit unsure when to log my AF because I tend to start with spotting and light flow and then it gets heavy and then more light spotting over about 7 days. So my Cycle days may be wrong lol but aslong as I go by my opks should be ok using CB and line ones this time 🤞

I have pre-AF spotting too @Newbiemg and often wonder when to put AF as started, particularly if there’s a day of heavier spotting, so that’s good to know. Do you have a reason for yours? My doc thinks mine’s due to a cervical ectropian, so waiting to get it all checked out/sorted

Maybe I should get some CB in too! I would maybe lean towards the first day the blood is red as CD1 then? It’s so confusing!

I’m not sure of the reason for mine but Its been that way since I can remember and I was told not to worry about it as is normal for me but yeah I think you are supposed to log CD1 from the first day of full flow red blood where you need to use something but last cycle I had this watery pink blood so I wasn’t sure if that counts. Deffo confusing but I think if we go by our opks and temps if doing temps then should be ok. Maybe would matter more if only using apps.

Thank you! 💖 I'm still dubious though as you hear stories of people getting faint positives then turning negative! Will test with my other frer on Saturday! 🤞🏼

If anyone else is struggling with OPK testing, you all probably know this already but it took me literally months to figure out I had to hold my urine for 3+ hours and test in the afternoon to get an accurate reading. You probably all know this but if anyone else is confused I was testing all over the place with diluted urine and wondering why I never got a true peak 🙃

@SMD16 is your OH feeling any better? I know the feeling of getting your peak and it feeling like bad timing last cycle my OH was away when I got my peak.

@lakejupiter that is helpful actually because I was more relying on the CB tests last cycle which you test with FMU and this cycle relying more on the line opks. I have been testing in the afternoon and evening but I haven’t been doing a hold so I will try that from tomorrow

@Newbiemg not particularly but he doesn't have a choice we dtd last night ha!

@lakejupiter I'm a terrible tea addict, I can drink 6 by 10am which means I need to pee alllllll day so I got lots of 0 results! This morning I've only had 2 teas and some squash and hadn't peed for 4 hours when I done this test.
