I’ve fallen in and out of this thread over the months as my TTC journey has taken big dips and I’ve needed to take a break from it all but I saw this pop up in my threads and wanted to say a huge congratulations to you @ChinChilly and also @Juno231 and @MissC07 too, I hope everything is going well, it is so such such lovely news.

Doubt anyone will remember me but since I was last on this thread my cycles eventually regulated and my period returned in March after a 245 day cycle. This was entirely down to an increased dose of Metformin which worked well for me, once I was patient and let it do it’s job. Amazingly two weeks ago I got a BFP and I’m now 4 and a half weeks. Need to wait and see if it sticks around but just didn’t expect it to happen when at one point I didn’t even ovulate. Just wanted to say thank you for the advice and support I had when I really needed it.

Kay00 · 15/08/2022 23:02

@SkeletonSkins of course we remember you 😊 I'm really pleased to hear Metformin worked for you, and im thrilled to hear you got your BFP!! Congratulations!! Xx

ChinChilly · 16/08/2022 02:45

@mrsmacmc thank you! How are you getting on?

@SkeletonSkins I remember you, congratulations!! Keeping everything crossed for a sticky bean!

@MissC07 hows pregnancy treating you? Have you started baby shopping yet?

I can’t believe LO will be 4 weeks old on Wednesday, the time is flying! She is such a content little girl (for now 😂) she only cries when the milk isn’t coming quickly enough and only wakes once in the night for a feed and she’s straight back to sleep so can’t complain there!!

I need to start thinking about contraception 🫣 I’m really reluctant to go back on any hormonal pills/injections/implants and OH agrees I was a nightmare on them lol he’s happy to use the old love gloves again but I think they’re are such a mood killer! I was thinking about the coil but we would like another baby in a year or two so seems like a waste 🤔

MissC07 · 16/08/2022 08:12

@Kay00 @mrsmacmc Thank you ❤️ At the moment he's behaving, coming up to 23 weeks now!

@SkeletonSkins congratulations! Hoping it's a sticky bean for you 😊

@ChinChilly So pleased shes being such content baby, gives me some hope 😂 How are you recovering after your CS? I'm doing ok thank you. Been so lucky and not felt too rough just quite tired. I've started getting a few clothes in the sales for him, makes it seem so real now 🙈

ChinChilly · 16/08/2022 09:00

@MissC07 after I wrote that she was up until 4:30am 😵‍💫 hoping that was just a one off 😳 glad you’re not feeling too bad! 23 weeks is a nice stage up until about 36 weeks then it’s like get this baby out 😂
Ahh it’s lovely picking up bits for them, John Lewis do some really nice bits in there everyday range, reasonably priced aswell. I’ve just put away aload of stuff that doesn’t fit her already 😭

ChinChilly · 16/08/2022 09:10

@MissC07 pressed send too soon… recovering ok from CS, it’s not as bad as I expected! It aches abit if you do too much but I wouldn’t be worried about having another one. The scar looks nice and neat and all the midwife’s that have checked it said they’ve done a really good job 😅 I was dead against having an epidural aswell but it was honestly a life saver.

@Juno231 how are you? Has baby girl arrived?

mrsmacmc · 16/08/2022 10:00

Plodding on! We've got our first IVF clinic appt next month and I'm 6 weeks out from having endo surgery. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster. ❤️

ChinChilly · 17/08/2022 03:34

@mrsmacmc it’s all such a long process isn’t it, starting IVF sounds positive though! Keep us updated!

MissC07 · 17/08/2022 05:45

@ChinChilly Oh no, I hope it's a one off blip for you 😣 I definitely feel like I've 'popped' more now, generally feeling heavy and uncomfortable trying to sleep! I'm glad you're recovering well too

@mrsmacmc good luck with the ivf, sending you positive vibes x

mrsmacmc · 17/08/2022 08:52

@MissC07 & @ChinChilly I will do 🥰

ChinChilly · 17/08/2022 21:24

@MissC07 sleeping does get uncomfortable, it doesn’t get any easier I’m afraid! Used to take me ages to just roll over in bed towards the end 😂 a few days before my labour started I couldn’t even get comfortable I ended up downstairs every night eating coco pops watching random crap at 2am 😂

Mummysparrow · 21/08/2022 16:27

@ChinChilly I refused to go back in contraception as coming off of it made me realise how much is messed me up. So we use condoms for now. Nearly 14 months postpartum and no accidents yet 🤣
I stupidly thought at the end of my pregnancy that sleep would get better once my little came out as I reasoned that nothing is worse then toilet every hour. Took me weeks to get over the exhaustion from the birth and I didn't appreciate the midnight parties when LO decided sleep was for the weak 🤣
She is an amazing sleeper no wand has been for awhile thankfully so I count my blessings

mrsmacmc · 06/09/2022 22:18

Little update on our TTC journey. Sorry I've been quiet lately on the thread.

Had our consult today to discuss IVF protocol and a massive curveball threw us for the remainder of the appointment. We had prepped questions and didn't ask them all as were a bit thrown about the below but were told to email it anything came into our heads.

My AMH has dropped from 7.1 to 1.9 in 18 months.

We will be on the flare protocol for November 🩸. To keep trying naturally in the meantime which has raised a question as anything we've read tonight talks about being on BC the cycle prior 🤨

Not gonna lie it's fried my brain tonight as trying to work out what time off I need from work (deliberately been saving leave) and when as there are 3 variables in play and it depends on when my a minimum of 2 follicles develop to 18mm 🤯 which could be day 8,12 or 12.

Kay00 · 06/09/2022 23:00

@mrsmacmc it's nice to hear from you xx your AMH drop sounds dramatic, but your numbers are still OK and I have heard of the raising too from test to test. It sounds like you have a good plan in place with your clinic, although I'm not very familiar with the flare protocol.

My next IVF round will be in October xx good luck in yours!! Xx

mrsmacmc · 07/09/2022 00:18

@Kay00 best of luck with your cycle too ✨

We hadn't heard of the flare protocol either which threw us further (had only heard of long / short / mild / natural protocols)

The flare protocol is used to “jump start” ovarian response to stimulation in women of advanced reproductive age, and in women with low ovarian reserve.

I've to also start DHEA and waiting on the link from the clinic to buy it privately as it's not licensed for NHS funded cycles.

ChinChilly · 08/08/2023 15:03

I’m not sure if anybody will even see this… but I was thinking about this group the other day and was wondering how everybody was? X

Mummysparrow · 08/08/2023 18:07

@ChinChilly
I am good thanks. My daughter is 2 now and we are thinking of trying for number 2 as of the end of this year 🫣
I hope you are well x

Robyn101 · 08/08/2023 19:00

@ChinChilly all good here! Got a 20 month old little boy and he’s just the best. I think about this group a lot, it helped me out and understand so much. I genuinely don’t know if I’d have fallen without the help on temping and ovulation sticks etc.

hope you’re ok!

crabette · 08/08/2023 21:22

@ChinChilly I think about this group lots too - such an amazing support network at a really vulnerable time. I'm good thank you - DD will be 2 in October, and just found out we'll be having a (surprise!) DC2 in March. Hope you are doing well too ♥️

ChinChilly · 08/08/2023 21:54

@Mummysparrow wow 2 years old.. where does the time go! Exciting to start trying for baby number 2 though 🤞🏼

@Robyn101 I feel exactly the same I don’t know where I would be without this group.

@crabette oh how lovely a little surprise baby, I call them fate babies ❤️ I can’t believe so many of the babies from this group are either 2 or coming up to 2 years old.. crazy!

We’re all good! My little girl turned 1 2 weeks ago, toddlers are hard work I can’t believe I thought the new born stage was hard 😂 but I can’t imagine my life without her now, she’s amazing… No plans for anymore anytime soon or at all tbh! Pregnancy was not good to me and I can’t imagine doing with a toddler in tow 😂

Kay00 · 08/08/2023 23:11

So lovely to hear from you all. I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant (finally!) And it's going well.

Thanks also for all the support, it has been a long and difficult journey xx

Juno231 · 09/08/2023 07:58

Oh I was so happy to get a notification for this thread! I'm good - Matilda turned 1 on Friday. I'm returning to work end of this month and absolutely dreading it. I definitely want another 1-2 kids if I can - but don't know when to start trying! It's hard to plan when it could go quickly next time or take 2 years again...

MissM94 · 09/08/2023 08:45

I was in this group but I felt like I was patronised and not taken very seriously by some people so I just dipped out gracefully but I've just seen that it's active again. I have a 15 month old and am currently pregnant with number 2

ChinChilly · 09/08/2023 09:05

@Kay00 wow, massive congratulations! When are you due then?

@Juno231 I actually enjoyed returning to work but I’m only working 2 days a week for now so that’s probably helped it being an easy transition. Plus Amelia isn’t going to nursery as of yet so it’s a lot easier to not be worrying about her while I’m at work. It’s really hard to to know when to start again like you said you never know how long it might take, just go for it I say if you definitely want more!

@MissM94 I’m sorry some people made you feel like that ☹️ congratulations on baby number 2! What will the age difference be when number 2 arrives?

It’s crazy when you look back a few years ago at this chat now lots of us have either had our babies or are expecting ☺️

Kay00 · 09/08/2023 10:24

@MissM94 oh no 😥 I'm sorry people acted like that, it's the total opposite of what the group was intended for. I'm really happy that you have a growing family 💕 it's wonderful news x

@Juno231 AHH! I can't believe you're heading back to work, seems like your mat leave whizzed past so quickly! I think it's lovely that you are thinking about your 2nd ❤️. I'm pretty sure I'll be one and done.

@ChinChilly so lovely to hear from you ☺️. I'm only 10 weeks, and I'm due in early March - eek!
