I had my baseline scan today for the start of my IVF cycle. I start my stimulation injections tomorrow! Eek!

Thanks ladies. Injections are going well. I have got three under my belt so far 😇 I have some bloods tomorrow then start my second set of injections on Thursday, I then have a progress scan on Friday. It's all go here!

@MissC07 fantastic news on the scan! When is your 12 week scan scheduled in for?

Just plodding along here. 28 weeks now and I'm thoroughly disinterested with work lol. I just want to nest and finally meet this baby. @ChinChilly when are you due again? Must be really soon!

@Juno231 16th July so almost 32 weeks! Starting to walk with a waddle haha still having extra blood tests and stuff, fundal height is measuring small and has dropped abit this week so maybe some growth scans on the horizon. I think I may just have a small baby on board tbh we went for one of those creepy 4d scans and the sonographer said 'oh shes so cute, she's totsie' so we'll see how that works out 🤣 how are you getting on?

@ChinChilly oh that's so soon! Are your bags packed yet? 😅 And yeah I wouldn't worry about the fundal height, those measurements are so hit and miss! I'm good! Starting my antenatal classes next week :) Just moved into a rental at the weekend as our house is being completely redone, but at least that means I can finally do some baby prep now as I know I'll have the baby in the rented house.

@Juno231 noo, I'm not sure why I think I've got so much time because I have nothing organised and still so much to get. Haven't even booked on to any antenatal classes 😅

@Juno231 thank you ☺️ Still no 12 week scan appt yet. I've got my booking appt next Friday and they said they'd book me in for a scan then and send me a letter confirming the date! Glad everything is going well for you. How did work take it when you told them?

@MissC07 Have you have your 12 week scan yet? Assuming you have.. how did it go?

@ChinChilly @TheDaydreamBelievers yes I had it 2 weeks ago 😌 All went well although it was sleeping the whole time so she kept making me jump up and down to wake it up 🤣 My 20 week scan is end of July where we'll find out what it is!
How are you both doing?

@TheDaydreamBelievers good thanks although I’m at the uncomfortable get this baby out of me stage, I saw my midwife today and baby’s head is engaged which hopefully is a good sign! Have a growth scan tomorrow as bump is measuring small but baby measuring big so figure that out 😂 how are you?

@MissC07 ahh so pleased everything is going well, my baby has never ever cooperated for a scan. Ahh exciting for your 20 week scan have you got any inclination on boy or girl?

@ChinChilly how many weeks are you now? Must be so uncomfortable in this heat 😰 I'm just getting over covid which absolutely floored me for over a week. Every vivid dream I have it's a girl. But my OH's family has a strong boy gene so I think it's probably a boy! Only a month to wait 🙈

@MissC07 almost 37 weeks! We’re lucky that our house stays cool for the most part but yeah it has been uncomfortable! I also has covid a few weeks ago and it really knocked me about I still don’t feel
over it. I was convinced we were having a boy absolutely convinced so it will probably be the opposite to what you think haha

@ChinChilly Ah how exciting!! Have you finished work now or are you still working?

@MissC07 my mat leave starts on the 1st July but I finished last Wednesday and used up some leave, I dunno what all this relaxing before baby arrives is all about though.. I haven’t stopped lol

@ChinChilly @MissC07 I'm so super pleased your pregnancies are going so well. I'm excited to find out if you are having boys or girls😀

Unfortunately my IVF cycle didn't go too well. Saying that, it started off well... I had:

• 29 follicles


• 18 eggs retrieved


• 18 mature


• 13 fertilised


• 12 going really well on day 3, some looking excellent


• 1 blast on day 5 (3AB)


• The rest arrested or had started going backwards

So a 93% attrition rate between day 3 and 5... which might indicate sperm issues (but I'm not ruling out egg issues too). I had a fresh transfer of the 1 x blast on day 5, but it didn't implant.

So, that's it. I had nothing to freeze, so my NHS cycle is over and I now need to find a private clinic to work with, which is where I'm at right now...

@Kay00 I'm so sorry it didn't go the way you hoped 😞 Are you going to find a private clinic now or wait a little bit?

@MissC07 I have made some enquiries but not yet arranged a consultation. I have a follow up meeting with my consultant at Exeter Fertility in July, and will consider staying with them if they suggest some adjustments to the protocol that might help. Or I will go with CRGW clinic in Plymouth who have a really good reputation and offer discounts for 2nd and 3rd rounds under a 'loyalty scheme'.

I was quite upset by the outcome of the first round and have fallen off the waggon ref fertility supplements and healthy eating, so I'm trying to get back into the right frame of mind to start TTC again... but I have to admit, its hard to be in the mood!

@Kay00 ahh I’m sorry this cycle didn’t pan out well it really was a good start though …it’s such a shame the NHS only do one round.

@kay00 fingers crossed the next round has a much better outcome! Is it worth doing a dna frag though? I'm not sure a change in protocol would address the root cause if it's indeed on your OH's side?

@ChinChilly How are you doing? Any sign of baby yet?

@MissC07 not yet..39 weeks today and feeling it in this heat! Been having lots of cramping and pressure for about a week now but nothing comes of it! My grandad passed away yesterday so I’m really hoping labour and funerals and stuff don’t clash!
