The weather has definitely turned chilly, so it’s time to hunker down on that Willy 🍆

Its Halloween time full of ghosts and ghouls 👻🎃but will our f*ck boy bodies make us into the fools?

Come on universe we’ve done our time, we’ve had lots of tricks so give us our treats 🐣.

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out.

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

If you see mention of Instagram I have a public account where a lot of people are linked too:
Minstermusings, and a few people have created new anonymous accounts to record their TTC journey/life stupidities m/general annoyances on…just don’t mention TTC on a personal account please!

Do you have room for a (sort of) newbie (she asks tentatively). Always feels a bit intimidating jumping in! I am a veteran TTC-er - with bumps in the road I have two children. I have experienced the full range of TTC life - poas addiction; TWWs which are legit SEVENTY years long; miscarriage; rainbow baby. I would love a third but I'm 38 and it took time previously so may not happen. I'd love to join if you'll have me.

Minster2012 · 22/10/2021 16:05

Awwwwww what a lovely update to come into
We are having such an amazing run with the recent BFP scans long may it continue 🥰🙌🏻@whatwonder that's fab!! We didn't get any kind of bpm (just "it's strong) so that's great I'm so pleased! 8 weeks that's a bit ahead of what you expected right? They do look really weird atm 🤪

@Somatronic I think the acupuncture will resolve everything! Well that's what I hope!

@MrsBiddy I had a cycle of 7 days of ewcm but low OPKs, no magic answer but then it did go cloudy so I can only assume there was about 6 days of ewcm before ovulation, the only answer is DTD! Def every other day still. Like @Juno231 says I resorted to temping as my cycles were irregular (hated it but was interesting & def confirmed OV)

@Manifestingbaby I drink at least 4 litres of water a day (I have to drink 3 per day Cos of my bowel surgery) so I've upped it so I can't imagine it's that? I've changed any fizzy drinks to water to get the additional 😩

@paintfairy when's your first follicle scan? 3 injections a night I don't envy, I will post a pic of my thigh bruise later but not now as in hairdressers 🤪

Welcome @00Bubbles00 to the bus! We've had many bumps in the road here but we need an embarrassing story for your ticket please!

@MrsBiddy what Juno said 😉

@whatwonder ok lol get you! Who knows it could be lucky no. 49 🤞

@00Bubbles00 welcome. Sorry you've had such a hard time ttc before. Hopefully no.3 is effortless 🤞

@Minster2012 wow you are well hydrated! Doubt it's that. I'm one of those people who is pretty much constantly dehydrated and then wondering why I'm tired/headachey/have dry skin 🤦‍♀️

MrsBiddy · 22/10/2021 16:35

Thanks everyone xx

I'll keep taking my bbt and see! Think I was getting abit obsessed with the opks 😂☹️

The husband doesn't get hints 🍆😬 not dtd for two days as the pressure was too much but Duno how to not be pressuring when he is just so chilled about everything 😂🙄

whatwonder · 22/10/2021 16:43

@Manifestingbaby yes, lucky 49 whooop!

@Minster2012 she said "you look to be measuring at about 8 weeks" I'm 7+5 today based on LMP so think that's spot on. my yolk sac was measuring small, but still within range (she said it's actually more concerning if yolk sac is too big so going to take her word on that and let it go).

welcome @00Bubbles00 xx

bez91 · 22/10/2021 17:00

@Manifestingbaby I definitely needed a reminder to drink more water. I generally am bad for drinking unless DH makes me one 🙈 it's hard some months to stay on an even keel and your mind drifts, its only normal 💕

Temping is good @MrsBiddy to confirm ov, I had some anovulatory cycles so it helped identify when as otherwise the OPKs wouldn't have done as they'd still detect a surge just no egg actually popping out! @Juno231 is the best and helped me understand charting. But yes I hated doing it it's a bit of a bind 😆

Welcome @00Bubbles00 😊

Bea14 · 22/10/2021 17:19

Checking in and taking my seat on the bus! (better late than never)

I am so delighted to hear the fantastic news on everyone's scans. That is just incredible news @Minster2012 @DKDK123 @bez91 @clolo and @whatwonder.

I am glad to hear something is happening and you have dates @paintfairy despite DH not being as involved you as might like. How long have you had to wait for IVF? We have been told we have to be TTC for 2 years and then it is a 8/9month waiting list. So basically another year at the earliest for us as we have been TTC for 18 months.

So I had my first fertility appointment at the hospital this week. According to the doctor my hormones and DH's sperm results are all normal and don't show anything of concern so it is 'unexplained' at the moment. I am now on the list to get a internal scan and a HSG (which I am dreading). My blood tests did show borderline progesterone and as I have irregular cycles they want to check what is going on. So now I have to collect my pee in a tube every Friday morning for 8 weeks (and freeze it in my freezer!). Then after 8 weeks I take them into the hospital and they will analyse it and look at estrogen and progesterone. Depending on the results of that they might prescribe clomid or letrozole. So something is happening but it does feel like a waiting game still.

gcat16 · 22/10/2021 17:39

@MrsBiddy I also have stupidly irregular cycles and obsessed with OPKs, but last month I seemed to get EWCM so I'd panic into lots of sex but then the OPKs didn't get dark and then I'd have more EWCM later and its been a very weird cycle.. My two pence worth is that I think EWCM coupled with a strong opk is THE sign. I couldn't be bothered to temp - I found it too stressful..

@whatwonder congratulations!
@Vil10 I hope the sperm results all come back fine 🤞
@paintfairy YANBU - I would be fuming

Sorry I've forgotten loads! I am also in the android brigade of a shit app and then it's tough to scroll through multiple pages 😂 must get better at replying more regularly!!

Happy Friday everyone 🎉

I'm using OvuSense which is an internal thermometer, it's a size of a tampon, I like just forgetting about it lol except taking it out for night wees lol

I think im going keep with OvuSense and forget about the opks

Justanothercyster · 22/10/2021 19:45

@feliznavidad2 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@MrsBiddy thank you, I'm glad it gives you hope! Hearing other people's success stories with pcos and other issues was really reassuring for me. I hope it happens for you soon 🤞🏼
As for the ewcm question, it usually happens in the next few days, on the day you notice it just DTD regularly x

@Manifestingbaby it WILL happen, and when it does it will be the most amazing and worthwhile wait x

@paintfairy I know! And now 2 weeks may be even less as I'm starting with stretch and sweeps from Monday every couple of days to get thing s going (very big baby, risky to keep it in past due date) 😱

@Franklydear Sorry lovely :( x

@Minster2012 nope! Will find out the sex soon though!

@Vil10 try to stay positive, you'll get the answers you need and they will 100% be able to help if anything is wrong x

@whatwonder yay to good scan! Congrats lovely 🥳

@Bea14 how frustrating! BUT I'm glad there's a plan in place, so nice when the ball gets rolling!

Little update from me... So yeah, having stretch and sweeps starting from Monday to see if we can get things going naturally (Google what they are but be warned- gross!) basically baby is currently weighing 8lb5oz and I still have 2 weeks 🙈 the risks of letting me go past due date are too high so also have induction booked for the 5th, praying the sweeps work though!

Happy Friday 🙌🏼 hope everyone has some nice plans this weekend xx

paintfairy · 22/10/2021 20:05

@Justanothercyster oh goodness. That doesn't sound fun at all. I am not even going to Google it but I roughly know what you are talking about. The baby will come out weighing 7lb and you'll be really angry for the interference. 🙈🤣🤣 I don't envy you at all. Any excessive poking is not welcome.
@Minster2012 Monday is my first scan and according to my protocol the next one after would be Wednesday. Then it just says more as required. Talking of bruises I'll attach a photo of mine from the night before last! I don't bruise every time thankfully but if you get it wrong it's not pretty!
@Bea14 I'm old so I'm guessing we don't have the 2 year wait thing. But my first appointment at the hospital was feb. We get 3 rounds of iui on the nhs so I started that in April (had hsg in March first). The iui faffing took me until August. We then filled out the ivf paperwork, I had my first appointment in Sept (our nhs uses private clinics for that, as they don't do it themselves- so you pick the one you want from a list) and luckily managed to catch the very next cycle and started straight away. Egg collection should be w/c 1 November. So it doesn't seem like there is a wait really, where we are.

Minster2012 · 22/10/2021 20:35

@Manifestingbaby then you should definitely drink more 💧💦especially as you know it! Makes you moister than an oyster yaaaaaa!!

@MrsBiddy it's a really hard balance, maybe give him a massage?

@whatwonder yeah the yolk sac disappears I think (maybe) so def take her word for it, all sounds great.

@bez91 one drink an hour works for my friend, however maybe for you if you go out & about with your job you could try my approach which is when I go out driving I always make sure I have a full large flask of water & make sure I drink it all by the time I reach my destination (usually there's a toilet at destination so that helps!) then I fill it up again for the journey back. I now just mindlessly drink it when driving which is good.

Oh my goodness @Bea14 you have to pee in a tube every week & freeze it I've totally never heard that!! I think a few ppl from here have had a hsg before, maybe @Juno231? That does seem a lot of waiting

@gcat16 I agree that ewcm plus the opk is the golden ticket 🎫

@MrsBiddy I was intrigued about the ovusense, have you used it long?

Wow @Justanothercyster they are gonna start sweeping her out? Crikey! Hope it works quickly for you guys 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@paintfairy Monday that's close then you find out what's going on which is exciting!! I find it interesting that we can then find out what happens "naturally" inside us each month. My god i bet you are pleased you don't bruise much then...here's me tonight, my thigh (that didn't go well) and my tummy looking down to my pants ☹️I'm not enjoying this
And the first food went well on the aga (though it still stinks so I'm hiding from it)!

MrsBiddy · 22/10/2021 21:22

@Minster2012

Might give it a go lol desperate times 😂

This is my 2nd cycle, I think the more cycles it becomes more accurate as it has more data.

They have two types ovucore and one you can wear on your arm/wrist

I've attached a photo of yesterday's reading, it's abit pricy but it's so easy to pop it in and forget about. I'm bad at consistency, always forget to take my temperature and ovucore is better for pcos

Xx

Manifestingbaby · 22/10/2021 21:26

@Justanothercyster thank you sweetheart 😘 the stretch and sweep isn't as bad as it sounds. It's done very quickly. Hope it gets things started for you x (paintfairy is probably right though 😂)

😬 to the bruises @paintfairy and @Minster2012

@Minster2012 yeah I definitely should drunk more. I did that thing of drinking a glass an hour for a while and it worked well but just let the habit slip again.

@Bea14 I've had a hsg and I think so did @paintfairy and @Juno231. It's ok. For me it was a short sharp pain so manageable. I was then crampy for a couple of days after but again nothing too bad. I think the worst bit was getting set up and waiting for the sore bit, I was quite nervous but then it was over very quickly. Hope that helps.

paintfairy · 22/10/2021 21:32

@Minster2012 ouch! I always think ones in the leg hurt more? I've not even tried it. I think Monday is exciting but also scary. There were tiny follicles before but not many and I'm worried it'll be a month without a lot happening! Last month I had 15 all on my own! But at the same time I don't want to overestimate and end up in a mess. So difficult. I'm just hoping it sits somewhere in the middle! I think the next bit will feel so much faster than the never ending down reg. My headache is back though. 😫🙈 I don't think I'm drinking enough in the day either. Although I feel so full of liquid I can't drink any more now.
@Bea14 I've had a hsg. Was dreading it but actually it was much easier than I thought. I took painkillers before and its better if you don't tense and try to stay relaxed. It was over very fast. I've never heard of the pee freezing either!

Franklydear · 23/10/2021 08:47

Vil10 · 23/10/2021 09:04

@Minster2012 oh god no I couldn't cope with that travelling around all the time!! Thankfully my plans next weekend have been cancelled, so me and OH have said we're going to watch the new bond film and have a chilled weekend!

@bez91 don't they! Really it's relatively easy for them this TTC shit! I think secretly my OH is slightly worried but he won't ever show it!

@whatwonder lovely news! Congratulations❤️ we're doing it through public!x

@Manifestingbaby how amazing would it be if we got our BFP in the same cycle, ahhh we can dream🤞🏼

@00Bubbles00 welcome!!x

@gcat16 Thankyou lovely!

@Bea14 I can imagine that being frustrating but at least there is a plan in place x

@Justanothercyster thankyou!! I work with a woman and her and her DH had unexplained infertility, and none of their rounds of ivf worked and now they don't have children and honestly that is my biggest fear, I can never imagine getting a positive test or having a bump so I'm scared that it's just not meant to be for me! Wow that's all scary and exciting all at the same time!! I hope she comes quickly for you!!🤞🏼

@paintfairy wow it really wasn't much of a wait for you! It's all so exciting!! Ooo those bruises of yours and @Minster2012

Bea14 · 23/10/2021 09:06

Wow @paintfairy that is happening quite fast, but great news there is not a long wait. We could go private but my local hospital aren't doing that at the moment as they are trying to catch up with the NHS lists. We will maybe see what the results of my investigations are and take it from there. Also that bruise looks like a cracker! Glad to hear the HSG wasn't too awful, I find it very hard to relax during internals. I wish they could just knock me out! I will be taking all the painkillers before - thanks for the tip.

@Minster2012 I had never heard of the pee thing either! I just need to remember to do it every Friday without fail with FMU. Your bruises are also crackers!! Hows the headaches now?

@Manifestingbaby Glad to hear the HSG was manageable I find a smear painful as my muscles seem to tense automatically despite the fact I try to relax so I am worried about the HSG. On the paperwork it says it can take 20 minutes which feels like an age considering a smear is bad enough and it is literally minutes. The things we go through!

@MrsBiddy That is interesting about the ovusense. Do you find it works and identifies ovulation accurately?

@Justanothercyster Eeek baby sounds big but glad there is a plan in place. Bet you cannot wait to meet them now!

I hope everyone has something nice planned now it is the weekend! We are going to John Lewis today to get house inspiration and to look at washing machines 😂

DKDK123 · 23/10/2021 09:11

Wonderful news @clolo & @whatwonder so happy for you both 🥳

@Franklydear gutted the witch has arrived. Will you please now make an app with your GP? I know you don't want to go down the IVF route or anything but at least let them run their blood works and SAs it could be something as simple as taking a few tablets that may help and if they day you would need more support but you don't want to go down that route it may save the heartache every month. Big hugs, ttc sucks.

@Manifestingbaby chin up, I never thought it would be me either and had given up all hope. Hoping your bfp is just around the corner.

Hi to all the newbies and hope all the headache crew are feeling better today.

Just a quick catch up as shattered from DS birthday party yesterday and now need to get ready for round 2 of visits today 😴

Somatronic · 23/10/2021 09:11

@Bea14 I'm glad all the rest results are good so far. I never heard of the freezing wee thing! Reminds me of a friend of mine who had stool samples in her handbag on the one day that her work place decided to implement bag/locker checks. Poor woman was mortified.

I have pink/brown cm last night and this morning. 2 days ago it was yellow which was so weird. Could it be AF already? I'm only 9 dpo so I really hope not!

Minster2012 · 23/10/2021 09:11

@MrsBiddy I liked the idea of not worrying about the temping, does taking it out to wee not skew things?

@Vil10 yeyyyyy for a chilled weekend! We wanted to watch bond the other day but couldn't make it work to get back to puck DS from nursery 😖though I think I'd fall asleep 😜

Struggling again today with another migraine, could just fall to sleep but DH gone shooting so it's just us. Flu jabs, swimming the MIL coming over with 2 nephews...just want to snoooooze

I have my cousins baby christening tomorrow, driving 2 hours each way for 2 hours there 😬this is her "3rd time lucky" baby after 2 miscarriages including a really bad D&C so I'm really pleased for them 🌈

OP posts:
MrsBiddy · 23/10/2021 09:51

@Bea14
I'm on cycle 2 of using it and this month my flu jab messed up my temperature which brought my predicted ovulation forward and my temperature went back down and I'm still waiting for confirmation of ovulation 🙄

It should be either today or hopefully tomorrow as last cycle I ovulated on day 26

I will let you know know the more cycles I do as it builds data.

@Minster2012
It takes readings every 5mins so if you take it out for a wee it shouldn't cause any issue as it has constant readings through the night

You do have to replace it every year, but I bought it so I could understand if I ovulated and when. Also if I needed extra help conceiving then it would be a useful tool :)

You can google it, I looked on Instagram to see people using it etc

Hope this helps

Justanothercyster · 23/10/2021 09:52

@paintfairy @Manifestingbaby tbh I'm so desperate for it to come out I don't care what it weighs! All I know is I'm not that big, but it feels like the baby is wrapping itself around my spine 😂 there's legs and arms all over the place, and trust me, big feet!

@Minster2012 🤞🏼hopefully. Try to take it easy! You're making me feel knackered just hearing about your plans 😂

@Vil10 it will definitely happen one way or another, you have time on your side and that's something positive to look at. I'm sure all will be well x

@Bea14 very excited :)

@Somatronic as ever I am hopeful the link is something positive 🤞🏼

bez91 · 23/10/2021 09:58

@Minster2012 argggh, with you in spirit still struggling with sinuses and headaches. A fun day of housework, maybe some pumpkin carving later. Couldn't you plant the seed for MIL to take them all out so you can have an hour or so snoozing?
