The weather has definitely turned chilly, so it’s time to hunker down on that Willy 🍆

Its Halloween time full of ghosts and ghouls 👻🎃but will our f*ck boy bodies make us into the fools?

Come on universe we’ve done our time, we’ve had lots of tricks so give us our treats 🐣.

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out.

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

If you see mention of Instagram I have a public account where a lot of people are linked too:
Minstermusings, and a few people have created new anonymous accounts to record their TTC journey/life stupidities m/general annoyances on…just don’t mention TTC on a personal account please!

I'm a day late did a test yesterday, middle
Of the day it was negative, but drank a lot?! Still no sign of AF as yet
How are you all?! Love this chat

blackcurrantqueen · 28/10/2021 16:24

@bez91 yeah I do my own PCR every week and do kids at work all the time but doing her is still a fresh kind of awful, just completely sick of it now!!
Good Luck for tomorrow 🌈💕

@Juno231 oh god how horrible for you, but it sounds like you were a real lifesaver and did all the right things 🥰

Franklydear · 28/10/2021 16:33

@Juno231 this crazy lot has finally convinced me to go see about my irregular cycles, you're a hero! So lucky you were there to help
@bez91 we test twice a week, ds is finally able to do it himself, the school is asking now we do it at home but in September they had to do it there

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 17:08

@paintfairy @Juno231 oh good I'm glad cd2 will be fine!!

@kaylsd hopefully it'll come back fine, I feel a bit nervous for the results I don't know why😂 I feel like it's in the requirements for being a gp receptionist to be a snotty cow! Wow thags so good that they've rang already and only 18 weeks!! That's amazing!! I really hope if we end up in the ivf situation that we have a quick turn around, I know it's wishful thinking though

@Minster2012 you have to push or they just palm you off!! It is! It's at 5:10, he's gone to the gym and I said you do now your app is soon and he went "yeah it's fine don't worry, I'll just step outside" okay glad you're calm🙂

@bez91 im just hoping for a good result for us both🤞🏼 I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, thinking sticky healthy vibes❤️

@blackcurrantqueen yep she arrived in full force last night/this morning, I felt horrendous this morning, so heavy and bloated and awful cramps!! Aww I hope your DD is feeling better and it isn't covid, I feel like you've had to have these swabs so many times! Well the returning to a new job sounds very exciting and something to look forward ro, kind of! Try and stay positive, I know it can't be easy❤️

@Franklydear yasss to first appointment!!

Well af kicked my arse this morning, felt awful, went to meet a friend and her DD at Starbucks and felt like my full uterus and womb was going to drop out and obviously the toilets were out of order!! Anyway when I got home I hadn't leaked or anything I eas just in pain, had 2 paracetamol and I feel so much better now just bloated! OH has his SA results phone call in 5 mins, I'm slightly nervous, please can someone tell me what we need them to be over/what's a good result??

So my grandma has dementia and Alzheimer's she's in a sheltered accommodation not a care home but we are looking at full on care homes for her bedside she's on her own and getting worse, I go in every morning and make her breakfast and make sure she has her tablets and then we have a carer that goes in at dinner to do the same, and then either my dad or uncle goes in at night, anyway the carers have been a bit crap, she had a pill dispenser that releases her tablets at the right times and if not really prompted she won't take them, the carers have told us they can't pass her the pills or ask her to take them in case anyone tries to "claim they drugged them", so they can only pass them tablets that have come from a sealed/foil packet! So today my uncle gets an emergency call from the carer saying my grandma had fallen in the car park whilst coming home from a walk and has landed straight on her face, busting her nose and lip, and has cut open her face, the carer then said "someone will need to come straight away as we can't get her up" !!!!! So they have left my 80 year old grandma led on the floor bleeding after banging her head, she'll have been confused and upset at why they weren't helping her, so my mum has driven down, turned out two elderly women next door have had to come and help my grandma up, have had to take her coat and clothes to clean because they were full of blood, and the carer said "it's company policy to not move patients in case of further injury", fuck company policy, I'm so angry!! So now she is at the hospital and not in a good way, I am seething to say the least!!

Sorry for the rant😂

Franklydear · 28/10/2021 17:27

@Vil10 omg that's horrendous, exactly what does their care involve?

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 17:36

@Franklydear that's what I said!! What are they even getting paid for! We've asked if they can oversee her whilst she's showering just to make sure she doesn't slip, they haven't yet done that, we asked to make sure on at least 2 visits she goes for a walk, only these last 2 weeks they have done that, this is the last straw for us now!

Justanothercyster · 28/10/2021 17:50

@Juno231 well done! That was very brave of you to step in. Hope you're feeling ok x

@Vil10 I cannot believe that about your grandma😡 how can you call yourself a caring human and leave a bleeding old lady on the floor in pain. Bloody ridiculous.
How did the phone call go?

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 18:02

@Justanothercyster I know, it's just shocking isn't it!! Well everything with OH's SA was fine🥳 they said the count and movement was all good and healthy, said the shape was slightly below average but nothing to be worried about because she said the other two are the main ones and they're good and there's no need for a re test!! So said I need to get my results back from the bloods tomorrow then my gp will refer us, happy that everything is okay but frustrated that it seems unexplained!

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 18:14

If I post OH's results please can someone make sense of them for me?? The doctor said his motility and count was good, said the shape was slightly below average and nothing to be concerned about and he doesn't need a re test

paintfairy · 28/10/2021 18:22

@Vil10 shape below average? The threshold is only 4%. So how much lower can it be? Yeah post them. GPS talk nonsense. 🙄

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 18:28

@paintfairy it makes absolutely no sense to me! Apparently she said he shouldn't be worried about shape because the other two are fine and there's no need for a re test

2020mission · 28/10/2021 18:30

Aww bitter sweet @Vil10 obviously great that there's no obvious issue but frustrating when there's nothing obvious to "fix". I hope your man is at least feeling better as he was likely worrying about those results. I was just reading back and saw you've been viewing houses too... I keep viewing ones that need a lot of work too it's so annoying isn't it? I'm struggling to see beyond the mess but trying to look at the space and potential there. In scotland we have to put in one single best offer blind bid on a closing date at noon and then they pick the winner that day. It's fast but frustrating as you have no idea what everyone else is bidding. I'm curious, did your current place sell for much above the home report value? Apparently everything is going well above value lately. We've put a bid in for a house and find out tomorrow. Was painful to go above the home report value but to have a fighting chance I thought we better. Sorry about your grandma too that sounds awful 😣

@Juno231 ooft that sounds scary but it's great you were there and managed to help him! What a day.

@bez91 good luck with the scan, hopefully all is well and you can relax a bit tomorrow 🤞

@Bundaberg84 I sometimes feel faint when having blood drawn or getting an injection. I think it's down to low blood pressure. I don't know if it works but the times I've felt fine with bloods and injections have usually been when I avoid morning appointments, eat something high in salt shortly before going in (to lift blood pressure) and you can tense arm muscles (or cross legs) to also help prevent a drop in blood pressure too so if it's possible - try and do that at a time where you think you're likely to feel faint. It's inevitable for some people unfortunately! It's a protection method to get you to the floor and get the blood back to your head so in a way it's a good thing your body is doing 😅 but I know it's no fun when it does happen.

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 18:32

@paintfairy she said to him "it should be 4% and I know 1 sounds extremely low but trust me it's nothing to be worried about"

paintfairy · 28/10/2021 18:47

@Vil10 oh my days. What a fucking useless GP. 🤬 I'm sure others will come along with their opinions 🤭 but bloody hell. The motility isn't bad, but it's borderline. Its acceptable to drs but actually its not great. We are about at that level though too and its not dire. The morphology being 1% is most certainly a concern, i would say? So basically of all his sperm only 1% are normal. 4% is the lowest acceptable rate (which seems bonkers in itself but apparently its enough to get pregnant). My DHs has always been 4 but last time was 3. Not ideal. We are having ICSI though so hopefully it'll bypass that.
Really what your GP thinks is irrelevant. What you need them to do is to refer you to fertility at the hospital. Are they doing that? They then will sort this out.

Juno231 · 28/10/2021 18:49

@Vil10 I would trust what she said for now - it could be completely different for the next one and they will make you do another one once referred to the fertility clinic. The carers you described make my blood boil, I literally did more than them on my tube ride today and I'm not even paid to 🤣

@Justanothercyster @blackcurrantqueen @Franklydear thank you ladies xx

@Katywatty17 sorry for the BFN! How confident do you feel about your ovulation date?

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 18:50

@paintfairy how can you even trust what they're saying!! I thought myself 1 was low but she said it wasn't a concern!! She told OH that it's me that needs to ring my gp and get her to refer us, last time I spoke to the doctor at my gp she said once OH has his results, contact her and she'll refer us, so hopefully it'll be a quick turnaround once I have my blood results from tomorrow's test! I feel so fucking emotional, I just cried because my braising steak didn't taste right

becarefuloutthere · 28/10/2021 18:52

@Vil10 hey lovely, those are good results but I'd say 1% morphology could be making all the difference, maybe. My Dh morphology improved with supplements, could he take proxeed plus? I know you said he's already fit and healthy etc so diet and lifestyle I'm sure is fine. And he doesn't smoke right? When you get to the fertility clinic you need to get your Amh and afc done, they'll tell you the most when it comes to your eggs. The tests done with the gp don't really say a lot about eggs. I think fsh is the only one n I can't remember if that should be high or low now. You get that on the "day 3" tests. Do you know when you'll get your results bk for that or you still waiting to have them?

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 19:00

@2020mission I definitely feel frustrated and upset! He seems really happy and relaxed, before he got his results he was very much "it is what it is" but I think from his reaction he was definitely a tad worried! It is well annoying, there just seem to be anything that ticks every box! Have you sold your house? Wow that way of buying houses sounds crazy!! The market is just mental at the minute anyway!! Yeah ours sold for quite a lot over the asking price which we were happy about and the buyer is giving us until mid January to move out as well! I'll have my fingers crossed your bid gets accepted tomorrow🤞🏼

@Juno231 I presumed he'd have to do another when/if we got referred! Feel like I'm half way between the TTC lost bus and the fertility clinic bus list😂 you did so well with that man, really brave and good of you!!

@becarefuloutthere hey!! How're you getting on? I did think 1 was low but when they tell you it's okay you believe them dont you! I'll definitely get him to start taking those supplements! Nope he doesn't smoke! I was reading up about those tests last night, I have my fsh and lh bloods tomorrow morning so should have my results back next week, I'm going to try and ask tomorrow if the gp can ring with my results and also take down the notes needed to do our referral at the same time!

kaylsd · 28/10/2021 19:11

@Vil10 my husbands first SA was morphology of 3 percent which they said isn't normal and would like it retesting in 3 month time after taking supplements, he had his retested and morphology went to 1 percent and the motility and volume all went below normal ranges but we've recently found he's got a varicocele which may be contributing to the poor numbers, can you ask for a second opinion on the retest? As it was just the morphology which was below range for the first one with us xx

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 19:15

@kaylsd thats interesting to know, I could possibly ask my gp to have a look at them and see what they think, either way it seems like we're going to be getting referred, which isn't how I'd imagined this would be happening but if it gets us there then so be it x

kaylsd · 28/10/2021 19:24

@Vil10 It may be worth a shout? He has got good numbers though with the volume concentration and motility so I'm sure supplements could help with the morphology! I know how you feel about getting referred as I didn't ever picture going down the path we have but it made me and DH stronger and I'm sure this journey whichever the outcome (the best one I hope) will do the exact same for you and your OH! It's okay to feel abit uneven / flat with it, Ive even cried and laugh at same time when we got DH back as I used to joke he had Homer Simpson sperm what bumped heads.. awkward moment when it came to light 🤣 but we are here for you each step of the process xxx

paintfairy · 28/10/2021 19:27

@Vil10 the GPs don't really do anything. They are just your entrance to the fertility clinic, so I wouldn't worry. And yes they'll retest when you get there. They'll also understand numbers. 🤣 All I did was get all my tests done, pass the SA results to my GP and then she did the referral. After that you don't need to deal with them.
@becarefuloutthere fsh has to be under 9. Mine was 8.9 so I just scraped through on the referral!

Vil10 · 28/10/2021 19:42

@kaylsd I'm definitely going to get him on some supplements! That's lovely to hear, hopefully it'll be the same for me and OH, we're both supportive of each other and he's definitely the more relaxed out of his both so he'll keep me level when I just want to cry and stress! Hahahaha love that, you've got to laugh sometimes haven't you! Thankyou so much, and of course we're all here for you too❤️

@paintfairy it feels like it's taken ages just to get to this point, at least the fertility clinic won't be as useless as the gps🤞🏼 OH gets private healthcare with work and there is bits on it about fertility so he's going to check tomorrow and see what we can get! @becarefuloutthere so what is fsh? And what do you do if it's over 9?

Katywatty17 · 28/10/2021 20:09

AF fhas arrivedAngryhave poured a large rum having a cry watching drag race!

becarefuloutthere · 28/10/2021 20:41

@Vil10 fsh is an egg amount indicator but I think amh is a better Indicator these days so you'll have to wait till the clinic to really know what's going on but hopefully fsh gives you a good Indication. Depending on your wait you can get at home blood tests that do Amh from medichecks. Think it's £60, but referrals should be 1-2 months if you can wait it out. I'd like to think you'll be fine because of your age so please try your best not to worry about what you don't know. Like you say, it might just be the very annoying diagnosis of unexplained. Xx
