I've had two pregnancy announcements today btw. One from someone who got pregnant the first cycle and the other from their first go at clomid (and who had ZERO clue about TTC compared to us ladies). It continues to feel very unfair 😬

@Minster2012 @Juno231 I must admit- when I go to the clinic I see OHs there (must be for specific things) but in other instances they are waiting in the car out in the car park, or at the bottom of the stairs by the entrance. And where is mine? Not there. I texted him to say I'd had the scan and was waiting for a blood test and he never replied as he didn't see it. 🙄 And he's moaning about having to book a day off work for egg collection (mainly because I can't give him an exact day yet) and then earlier I mentioned about him coming twice (they are allowed in for transfer) he was like- what? Why do I need to come twice? 🤣🤣🤣 Jesus Christ.

Boooo to the pregnancy announcements! Something else you notice when sat in the clinic though- the other women. They aren't all old, fat, or whatever else. They are all ordinary looking people! All there, probably as baffled as you are, as to why it is so unfair.

OH's friends girlfriend who I mentioned announced her pregnancy at 5 weeks on social media, is pissing me off royally, allll over Facebook every day about her pregnancy, I deleted her last night and don't even care, bye bye

Do amh and fsh get tested in the first initial fertility tests? I can't remember if mine were tested or not, I need to check my results sheet! Had proper af symptoms today so gearing up for her to show tomorrow, when I'm working all day too, typical!!

@Vil10 they should have checked fsh and lh on day 2. They have to be a certain threshold to qualify for nhs ivf. My fsh was literally only just under! Thank god. AMH they don't test until you get to ivf point but no one ever checked mine at all.

@paintfairy just checked my results and they tested fsh and lh on my day 21's, why am I not surprised🤣 I should be cd1 tomorrow so do you think I should ring and ask if they could do them this cycle??

@paintfairy yeah mine wasn't all that either like for the transfers where he could come in he was like "but that bit you don't need me, they literally just pop it in?" Which, is true to be fair but not the point 😆you wouldn't have seen my DH around much, and he couldn't even come to the second scan I had remember?

@Katywatty17 well it's ok to leave it until after AF meant to arrive of you don't want to see any bad results but I'd be intrigued after the opk.

We did see a rainbow on the way back yesterday from the christening actually. So should be channelling that & all of them from you lovely lot, DH said maybe you are emotional as a sign??

@Vil10 no I'm not surprised as they did that to me as well! Did they not test them in day 2 at all? What did they check then? Or have you only had day 21 done?

@Juno231 woah good job you called. The letters rarely say which is pants, either way sounds like you'll be getting a good once over. I don't see why they'd physically need to test your DH. They wouldn't if it wasn't for IVF so a bit crappy IMO, might they just ask how often etc

@Minster2012 house viewing was a disaster, the features and character of it are exactly what we want but there was sooo much more work that needed doing to it than we thought, you could smell the damp as soon as you went in and it was so cold, I just didn't get the "I love it I want it" vibe, oh well, there'll be another one, hopefully🙄

@paintfairy they didn't even offer me any day 2's!! Just day 21's

@bez91 honestly people like that test my patience!! Well I'm usually pretty regular and I'm due tomorrow and definitely feel like I'll be coming on tomorrow so it might be the perfect time to ring the doctors! He's got a phone app on Thursday with the doctor to get his results🤞🏼

@Vil10 it depends how it works where you are? Here - for the fertility unit at the hospital to accept you, you have to have had certain things done before. Or they'll bounce it back (which happened to me because they ballsed it up). Which were - day 2 (can be done 2-5 though), day 21, rubella immunity, and I think they usually scan to check for nothing strange. But I'd been with my spotting and already had 2, so they didn't need to. Then the GP filled out the correct form (I also took the SA results to my own GP, which we obtained through DHs GP) and sent off the referral.

How bad is the damp? Ours was bad when we moved in and we had to have a damp course. We didn't realise it was so bad though until we actually moved in. It actually put a dampner (ha!) on things on moving in day as it was a shock. We knew it had been picked up on the survey but we hadn't actually seen anything. And it was picked up on DHs house sale too and it was so minor it was ridiculous, so we assumed it was maybe the same. It wasn't! But it's all sorted now. We had a leaking broken drain out the front which was contributing too. And an easy fix. So it kind of depends on why. Our house really wasn't homely either and it took a week to get up to 20 degrees! But they just never heated it properly. We also relocated a few radiators as they were all centred towards the middle of the house. And now it's fine. We didn't sleep here the few days the damp course was done though, it was pretty bad!

@Vil10 they are useless indeed!! Yours too sadly 😅. It doesn't hurt to call about day 2 as they might be able to fit you in for day 3-4? Like paintfairy said I had to have day 2 done (as well as an ultrasound) to get referred to a fertility clinic. They tested me for rubella only once I got to the clinic though.

@bez91 no no - the letter specifically said phone appointment!

@paintfairy @Minster2012 I think OH will be there for egg collection and that's it! I doubt he'll be bothered about being there for transfer and my main focus will be to have that McDonalds 😂

Disaster zone here, DDs birthday. Came down to a flooded kitchen, the fridge part of the fridge/freezer has now packed up so we now have neither and whilst DH was in the shower and I was upstairs DD pulled her birthday cake onto the floor 🥳

But because when things like that happen to me, I think surely this shit doesn't happen to normal people? 🤣 And it apparently does! Or- you are unlucky like me. But - if you are a lucky unlucky person (also like me) it all somehow turns out ok in the end! At least the panic buying of freezers has stopped and you can buy a new cake? I would be eating it off the floor mind. 🤪 But yeah, not good.

Thanks ladies! Just had the initial appointment and am waiting for the nurse's appointment now. Had my first AFC which came in at 15 total (I won't complain, had hoped for something more in line with my 21 AMH though!), and ffs seems like I haven't ovulated still lol. Any moment now though.

They'll put me on short protocol and they said with covid backlog the plan is for me to start in Jan anyway so that takes my decision making away from me!

@Juno231 had to sit pondering what AFC was then. I had about 15 too but they did say they can't always see them all. But they seemed to think it was a good number.
Jan is fine. Short protocol is maybe better. The buserelin is awful. God knows how they decide on this though? I wonder if they put me on long because of my short cycles. Then they aren't restricted.
