Hi everyone, it’s my first post on mumsnet, I spent a LOT of time reading through these threads when ttc my son and they helped so much.

Now I’m back ttc my second and it is only our second cycle and I am already much more desperate for it to happen than I was the first time around with my son 3 years a go.

I think it’s because it took us 10 cycles to conceive my son and I’m already heartbroken over it potentially taking that long (or longer) this time around.

Anybody else out there ttc their second baby and feeling the same anxiety? I swear I drove myself mad last cycle, it’s no wonder it happened really, I was borderline insane with googling, symptom spotting and even poas as early as 4dpo Confused

@daisiesandpeonies thanks oh yay next AF is due 21st of November so testing then
I usually start Opk Cd 10 if that helps but roughly know my ovulation is around cd17

@daisiesandpeonies there's a guide in the box about when to start testing, I think it's about a week before you might ovulate. I always have a bunch of cheap OPKs as well in case I want to test multiple times a day.

Good evening all. TTC for nearly a year now. I’m Looking for some advice please. I’m due next AF this weekend (23rd or 24th) but yesterday had cramping and bleed. Only 3/4 pad full then just blood present when wiping today. Feeling nausea and lower back pain for last few days. Should I do a pregnancy test now or wait til after the weekend? Thanks in advance.

evening ladies, hope you're all ok. Sorry for the radio silence - I was having issues getting logged into my account this month.
Sorry to hear so many bfn's for October, it's been a pretty rubbish month all-round by the sounds of it. Wishing you all lots of luck for November's cycle.
We had to pop our trying on hold this month (dtd once after period ended) but I'm desperate for a scan to check my kidneys, which they can't do if there's a risk of expecting...so been waiting for period to arrive so I can get that over with, and get back on with trying! Alas, today's CD1, so scan on Friday, then we're back to it!:)

hi @borolass84 - that sounds like it could be implantation bleeding...I'd say hold off testing as close to your expected af as possible, to avoid potential false negatives (if it's implantation!). Lots of guidance says wait around 2 days before testing from when implantation bleed starts, so it could be Friday/Saturday. Depends how patient you feel!

Thank you for the reply MrsS21. Yes waiting to see if AF comes by weekend. If she doesn’t then I’ll do a test on Monday or Tuesday. This has been the closest we have got so far after nearly a year of trying so don’t want to get our hopes up yet. All the best of luck to you too :)

That’s a great sign :) I think feeling positive can sometimes be half the battle can’t it?! I was convinced 2 months on the trot that we were pregnant, as substantially late…both times nothing and hit me hard. Decided to try look at it that each month is a fresh start…try keep the excitement there. I appreciate it gets harder the longer the journey, but hopefully it’s well worth the wait.

I’ve never missed af so this has been the closest we’ve been. Yes positive as getting stressed doesn’t do either of you any good :) hopefully you conceive too but like you say just keep trying :)

Aww thanks @Kiaa :) that’s really kind, I’m just hoping they can figure out what’s causing a fair bit of pain for me xx hope you’re getting on ok, how are you doing? Ooh fab :) love being similar times cycle wise - it’s always great to have company! And to try resist testing as much as poss!😆

Nothing today but still feel nausea. Stomach feels “queeny”. The strangest feeling is I feel like I hot up each evening. Asked the other half if he put the heating on and he replied “no” was too hot overnight in bed too. Too warm but not to the point of sweating more a rosy cheeks kinda glow. Also been having strange dreams the last few nights not sure if all this is linked though.

I'm doing ok still at cd 3 I've bought 2 different opk packs this time double testing this month
I have so much family keep asking so the pressure is on

@Borolass84 With my first I didn't get a positive till a week after my implantation bleeding. But everyone is different, I'm sure if you wait till Monday it should give you a clear result. Fingers crossed for you, keep us updated!

I’m on cycle day 12 and haven’t confirmed ovulation yet via OPKs and temping, but I don’t think I’m due to ovulate for another 2-4 days! Have come down with this dreadful cold everybody seems to have atm so feeling pretty rotten 🤧
