Hi everyone! Anyone else around 1dpo? Or even if not, thought we could keep each other company during the TWW! A bit about me: I'm 28, been with my partner for 12 years and it's our first month properly TTC although I've been tracking my cycle for around a year now. My cycle is usually between 29-34 days, 12 day luteal phase normally. We've been fairly loose a couple of times in the last year so I've got to know the obsessive TWW feeling pretty well.. hoping we can all keep each other sane!! 🤣

Hi @catlady93 wishing you lots of luck this month! I think we're in the same boat as you, think I'm 2dpo today...but randomly at day 32 of my cycle! (long story but think it's down to taking a pre-conception vitamin supp!)
Fingers crossed this is our month!

CatLady93 · 05/09/2021 12:49

Hi @mrsS21! Thanks for replying :) does sound like we're v similar! How long have you guys been trying? I've heard about some supplements doing things to cycles, so strange! I'm just taking folic acid at the moment as part of my normal multi-vit.. hopefully that's alright! 🤷🏼‍♀️😬

Hi! Can I join?
I’m 32 TTC baby #1, this is my 3rd cycle (but my first proper one; cycle 1 was after I took the Mirena coil out, then last month my DH was away for most of my fertile window).
I’m 2DPO today, pretty sure I ovulated on day 12 and my cycle is usually 27-29 days.

What supplements did you take that affected your cycle? I’m taking Pregnacare conception, methylfolate (because some women can’t break down the type of folic acid that’s in regular pregnacare), Omega 3,6,9 and vitamin D and calcium (although I take the last 2 anyway because I don’t eat meat/fish/dairy).

I hate the 2ww, I need people who understand my desire to symptom spot!

Good luck to you both!

mrsS21 · 05/09/2021 13:41

Thanks @CatLady93 😊 it’s such a painful wait isn’t it?!? I wish there was a way to find out sooner!
Yeah unfortunately it’s the only change I can think of which might be causing long cycles…
We’ve been not ‘not trying’ since my cycles started back in September last year (after having DD in may ‘19). But actively trying for a few months now. Think as my cycles have been so abnormal we’ll have totally missed ovulation! So going to just get vit D and folic acid instead, see if they go back to normal.

Just want to start our #2 child journey!

Got my fingers crossed for you @HerbivorousRex for this cycle too! Symptom spotting is just a nightmare in this phase!🤣

CatLady93 · 05/09/2021 13:52

Hi @HerbivorousRex 😊 Thanks for joining 😀 Wow you've got the supplements down! I'm veggie/don't eat much dairy too 😊 Happy first month of properly trying, that's me & my partner too!

@mrsS21 how lovely you're trying for #2 ❤️ Those abnormal cycles are so annoying aren't they. Such trickery! 😩😂

Do either of you do any charting or use OPKs?

OP posts:
mrsS21 · 05/09/2021 14:20

It’s so exciting to be starting the journey, have fingers crossed for you both that it’s not too much of a wait for you 🤞🏻

I’ve only just started with opk this month, that’s only as my cycles have been so funny, usually I’m very regular and can tell when I’m ovulating. Disappointed it’s taken a year so far and still no joy, though I know there are ladies on here who have been trying much longer.
I’m really excited about trying for our second, as our little girl absolutely loves other children and think she’ll adore having a little baby sibling to help with. 🥰

These last two cycles have really frustrated me as I was pretty certain we were expecting the first time - I was so similar to how I was with DD…this month I was a little more sceptical. Still hopeful for this TWW!

CatLady93 · 05/09/2021 21:09

Thank you 🥰

The OPKs can be so confusing. I trialled it once before we were officially trying and I managed to catch my LH surge on an afternoon and then it was gone by the evening.. so easy to miss it!! Luckily I can usually rely on other symptoms etc and I mostly ovulate around the same sort of time each month 🤞🏼

I hate when you really think you're pregnant and then you're not. I've had it a couple of times and I've actually thought 'am I insane then?!' But it's just so true that symptoms can mean literally anything and sometimes new PMS symptoms emerge that we've never had before that are ALSO pregnancy symptoms. Torture 😭

Bundaberg84 · 05/09/2021 21:56

Hi all! Just read about your delayed cycles; it's actually pregnacare that messes with the cycles. There are many recent threads and posts here. Ss soon as you stop them, they will be back to normal.
Good luck to all of you in the 2ww 🤞

CatLady93 · 05/09/2021 23:16

Thank you @Bundaberg84!! 😊

Bundaberg84 · 05/09/2021 23:19

@CatLady93 you're welcome! There are enough things to worry about in the TTC journey, vitamins that mess up the cycles shouldn't be one of them.

mrsS21 · 06/09/2021 02:54

Thanks @Bundaberg84 ☺️ Hopefully stopping them will get my cycle back on track ASAP!
Couldn’t agree more @CatLady93! It’s so hard when you have symptoms not ‘typical’ of your normal cycles…our bodies seem to help trick our minds into getting our hopes up. But hopefully one of these days we’ll be right!🤞🏻😆

CatLady93 · 06/09/2021 10:05

It's sooo hard @mrsS21 😩 Sometimes a PMS symptom that you'd normally have DOESN'T happen and then you think that's a sign of pregnancy too 😩🙃 Do you tend to test before your period is due or just wait until it (hopefully) doesn't arrive?

OP posts:
mrsS21 · 07/09/2021 20:59

Sorry @CatLady93 I’m not getting notifications on here 😑
I never used to bother, but the last 12 months I’ve had a couple of times where I swear I felt pregnant. Had a lot of symptoms I had with DD, super moody and just ‘knew’ I was…think these have been chemicals. Then last month I was 3 weeks late, took a test every 3 days or so, but no joy. Assume it was the supplement throwing my cycle out, so ovulated later. This month I did a test when I was due AF, hadn’t felt any symptoms, then started seeing ovulation indicators!
I’m dying to test now though 😆 even though I’m around 4/5 days PO and know I wouldn’t see anything!

Have you got some tests in ready or are you waiting until AF?

CatLady93 · 07/09/2021 21:18

Hey @mrsS21! Oh no worries at all 🥰

Such a shame if they were chemicals.. 😞 Can't decide whether it's better to know or not know. Hence me debating whether to test 🥴 My luteal phase is a pretty consistent 12 days so I can't actually test too early before my period anyway. 2dpo currently and I was like omg I'm SO tired how weird. Nope - just had a super busy weekend for a friend's 30th so that'll be why! 🤣 The heart wants what it wants though I suppose ❤️

Gosh that must have been such a mad 3 weeks when your period was late!! Your mind must have been all over the place. When are you due this month? I'm due on 18th September.. I have got some FRERs in the cupboard and some internet cheapies too but I think I'll try my best not to use them.. SHE SAYS! 😬😂

OP posts:
mrsS21 · 08/09/2021 08:20

I think it’s hard to know you’re pregnant and lose it, which is why I’d not tested until I was late - I try to tell myself there’s a reason they didn’t stick. Never easy, but it gives me a peace of mind.

Hahaha I’ve literally caved and done one this morning 🙈 I mean I know logically I won’t see anything, but it’s so tempting to just try …I might be a medical weirdo and just see something 😆 and, of course, I’m now sat here thinking I see something 🙈

Patience is apparently a virtue I only have outside of trying to conceive!!
How are you this morning?
I’m not sure when I’m due to be honest, as i ovulated late, I should have had my period 2 weeks ago Saturday, but ovulated 6 days ago 🤷‍♀️

mrsS21 · 08/09/2021 09:05

Sorry, I meant 5 days ago…my AF is apparently due on 17th. Not really sure that’s definite though.
I’m really quite achey in my lower back, have been yesterday and today so far. It’s what made me think to test.

CatLady93 · 08/09/2021 09:33

Definitely, must be so so hard.

Oh wow you think you see something! Send a pic?! 😱 With your cycles being a bit altered by the supplements you could have ovulated at a different time perhaps? 👀

I'm good thanks! Nipples are pretty sore but that happens every month usually. I chart using Fertility Friend and it's confirmed my ovulation today after a few days with raised temperature so that's good 🙏🏼 Although it's saying I'm 5dpo but I'm pretty certain I'm 3dpo based on my OPK and CM (yum.)

How are you feeling other than the back ache?

OP posts:
mrsS21 · 08/09/2021 09:50

@CatLady93 I feel like I’ve just got line eyes, but there’s a little mark here. Going to just stop it and wait for good ol’ af to make an appearance…
My lower back is really achey, but I don’t feel anything otherwise - maybe a little more energetic than the last few days as I’ve been unwell. 🤷‍♀️ I’m trying desperately not to symptom spot!

How are you? The CM is a good sign :) I feel like I missed all this with my DD as we discovered at 6 weeks we were pregnant! So I didn’t even dream I was - hugely sore boobs but just assumed it was af! (I wasn’t having periods at the time so had no idea!)

TWW buddies :)
Bundaberg84 · 08/09/2021 14:54

@mrsS21 if you ovulated 6 days ago, you're now 5dpo right? So I wouldn't test before 11dpo.

mrsS21 · 08/09/2021 14:59

Hi @Bundaberg84 I’m really going to resist until af shows/doesn’t show now, as the worst thing is seeing negatives. Will just try to be relaxed about it now - it’ll either happen or it won’t 🤞🏻

SammiStap · 08/09/2021 15:29

Hello, would any of you minded if I joined in? I’m 8/9 dpo and I’m going crazy. Just waiting and not knowing is making me crazy lol!
We had a mmc in July and are so desperately ttc again as it’s left such a huge hole.
So far I’ve had lower back aches, mild but constant cramping and aches around my right hip. I think I get tiny waves of nausea then it goes again but don’t know if it’s just my head making it all up again. Was 90% sure I was pg last month and I wasn’t at all.
I think we caught ovulation as we dtd in the week up to it and on the day I think it happened.
It’s just painful waiting lol, af due 13/14th sept xx

Bundaberg84 · 08/09/2021 16:00

Hi @SammiStap - I'm the same, AF due Sunday or Monday, and having cramps on and off since maybe three days. Fingers crossed!

SammiStap · 08/09/2021 16:29

@Bundaberg84 oh I hope it’s something and not just pmt! It’s been fairly constant for the last couple days deffo, maybe three days x

CatLady93 · 08/09/2021 19:20

@mrsS21 It's so hard to pick up on the phone I feel like! Let's make a pact to wait until 10dpo and try and keep each other sane until then! 😩🤣

Oh wow so it's almost like you're doing it all for the first time! Right here with you haha 😀 It's so hard not to symptom spot because the body does such weird things in the luteal phase anyway. I think engaging with the whole thing is bizarrely addictive don't you think?! Probably because it gives us some feeling of control I suppose. Can't control whether we're pregnant or not but we can try and control all of the TTC elements 😩 That's my psychoanalysis for today! 😬

OP posts:
CatLady93 · 08/09/2021 19:23

Hey @SammiStap of course you can join! 🥰 So sorry to hear about your mmc 😞 That must be so, so hard. Sending you loads of luck for this month, sounds like you've got some positive symptoms 😊 Even if they're not pregnancy symptoms and just pre menstrual symptoms, it'll mean your body is making lots of lovely progesterone to support a baba when they're in there ❤️ You haven't got too long to wait, do you plan to do a test or will you wait to see if AF doesn't show? X
