It’s been twelve million years & Minster & the good time crew are still here…it’s almost September and we basically missed out August for BFPs so we are owed.

Lots of people have got new jobs, had time off, gone on holiday, moved house, but what we haven’t had is the BFP to go with it- what’s with that??

So we’re owed a bumper bus ride right? That’s how it goes surely? If you are looking for a community of lovely ladies who know how frustrating it is when your doctor tells you “all women ovulate on day 14” errrr nope, we know a bus load of women who don’t thanks very much 🙋🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😆🤔then here’s the bus for you. Oh and we don’t just talk TTC, we’ll chat about anything. In fact that’s positively encouraged cos TTC can be bloody boring sometimes!

Nice to pop on and read everyone's intros again as it's easy to lose track over time or I've just missed some.

I'm now a grad but still following along. I started TTC for my first in January 2020 and got a sticky BFP 16 months later in April 2021. I think I joined the bus in spring/summer 2020 after lurking for a while. I was hoping I wouldn't have to join for support and that it would just happen quickly 😅 don't we all? I had 2 chemicals in those 16 months so assumed when I got the BFP in April that the same would just happen again but without doing anything different it stuck. There is hope!

@Vil10 just caught up, can't believe what happened 😠 I hope that guy gets done for his behaviour! Glad to hear OH is managing to keep positive though, it must be tough for you both.

@Juno231 are you thinking of delaying the IVF until January so you've been in the new job for a few months beforehand? It must be frustrating waiting but I'm sure another few months will pass quickly with the new job as a distraction.

And yeah totally understand! I had a work event tonight, I had to greet the guests (mostly clients) and socialise. I'm normally mildly hungover the next day, but today I just had very light wine spritzer.

Intro:
I'm a grad now and due in 8 weeks, but was on this bus so long I can't even remember! Ttc for 18 months, came off pill in Aug '19 and periods were all over the place, got my diagnosis of PCOS which explained a lot. Months later turned out dh had 0% sperm motility so we were told we would need ivf but the fertility doctor gave him some supplements to try first- which seemed to work miraculously! Got bfp in Feb21'.
Now following along because these lovely ladies held me through and I love to se show their journeys are progressing 💕

@paintfairy I am ecstatic it's a girl 😆 it's what I wanted too n I was convinced it was a boy due to the embryo grade as statistically they're more likely, so I'm very pleased!

@Justanothercyster I feel like our journeys were so similar apart from I had endo, not pcos, both had sperm issues but we did need ivf in the end, but it was similar length of time of trying. We both get there in the end tho! 💪🏾💪🏻

@becarefuloutthere @Minster2012 I know! What a horrible person Jordan is too? Maybe the issue with his parents is bloody him. Made himself out to be a nice genuine guy and as time went on its become apparent he is not. Also- did he ever smile? Bob thanking him was ridiculous. He didn't do it for that reason, he did it to be spiteful and that was obvious. Horrible man! 🤬 I'm loving that the experts are calling them out more though. The Aus one used to annoy me for that. I used to wonder what the point of them was!

@Minster2012 not a lot really, more tidying up, less will be done today, throughly pissed off, for background, we took ds to buy uniform, I help him try the trousers, got a bigger size as ‘his’ wouldn’t fit on waist, tried it at home, dh said way too big, so off he went to change them, I bought more in marks(half the price and look the same), so today i went to help ds get dressed, well, the fucking trousers don’t fit, poor boy can hardly even close them, first I was wrong, then he couldn’t get them on ds, of course I pull the tags off, I know I should have check myself, so he agreed to get them changed, insisted he’s given me the receipt, so I search everywhere as I lost it, turns out it was always in his wallet, and now won’t go to the shop early morning cos of traffic, it’s far, so he’ll tell me when we can go, so I’ll relax at some point cos I don’t know when I can get this over, and just thinking I should have done the whole thing myself, and now he’s doing some work too, so I declare fw over, sod it

@becarefuloutthere it’s starting to wear thin, the other day I have to sort something at childcare drop off, I never pick up, dh does that, I ended up telling her, I can’t be everywhere, I need him to sort shit out, she’ll make sure he does it, funny enough he has no secretary at work and can manage all his task unaided, my work is a lot simpler, true, but fuck so many plates....

@Minster2012 yes, starting tomorrow! Really looking forwards to it. Unfortunately it will rain and we spent more on the room because it has an outdoor pool, but so what. I will probably still sit in the pool, just to get a nice picture haha

@becarefuloutthere I'm OK thanks, literally just stuck in limbo waiting for the IVF clinic to call us for our first appointment. Probably got at least another 5-6 weeks of waiting though as we're waiting on some genetic screening results to come back

hi pals, question for you. I started using OPKs this month (first time) and I went from having a empty circle/low fertility whatever it's called for the past 4-5 days and then this morning it went straight to static smiley (indicating peak fertility), so I've missed out completely on the blinking smiley/high fertility phase. Has this happened to anyone else? When I look at my ava app, it says I'm only just starting the FW and ovulation is predicted on Tuesday (CD17). I'm so confused. How long does the static smiley indicate peak fertility for, is it only for today or is it a longer window? Won't be able to DTD today as DH is away but he's back tomorrow. Starting to think all these things to give us more information just end up causing more confusion!

@InkyPaper ooh maybe we'll be IVF pals in the end as my appointment is now in 6 weeks time? And lol at the cat vom - mine always used to do it IN our shoes. Bless him I think he thought that was a clean and contained thing to do.

@whatwonder any time I've used digital OPKs I've gone straight from empty circle to static smiley. I don't know why.

Static smiley means you'll probably ovulate within 24-48 hours so just make sure to DTD tomorrow and you should be fine.

I always concentrated on having sex before ovulation but the fertility clinic only told me to do it once 2 days before expected ovulation, twice on the day itself and then again 2 and 4 days after ovulation. I was surprised at how much of it was scheduled for after ovulation so it's made me wonder about my previous approach.

I got up and had my 6am session. We managed it. Afterwards DH said "fuck that nurse" who prescribed the schedule.

Poor DH is a bad sleeper so he was up for the day. I'm a great sleeper so I got a few more hours.

@Juno231oh yeah! That'd be good 😊 ahahaha he vommed in your shoes?! I think that might actually be worse than the carpet 😂

@bez91 you've hit the nail on the head he def is too nice and would help anyone at the drop of a hat. Which I know is a good quality to have but he can't see that his helping others is at the cost of his family no matter how many times I point it out as in his head he can always get to our stuff 'this weekend' but come that weekend something else crops up so it never gets done. 🤦‍♀️

@Juno231 it's just lots of wee niggly unfinished jobs that he's started and not finished like a door still waiting to be hung, half the door handles to be fitted, skirting boards half done, door frames half fitted just small things that he's started and has been going to finished them for ages but never has but always finds the time to go do things for other people. (Don't get me wrong there's a few big jobs I want done in the house like converting the loft space and stuff but they don't bother me I don't get on at him for them it's the small ones that lie unfinished that piss me off, he's a joiner by trade so all his friends and family want a freebie to get their house up to scratch while ours is a half finished mess and he just can't say no when they ask 😣)

@kirky658 it'll feel like an uphill struggle once DH goes to work on Monday but don't worry you'll soon find a routine that works for you. Don't stress about things like housework, entertaining folk or trying to get things done for the first while. Try to get out a walk for fresh air at least once per day, other than that just take things as easy as you can till you find what works for you.

@bez91 glad the RMU are being helpful and giving you the progesterone, fingers and toes still crossed for you 🤞

@somatronic interesting info from the nurse as everything I've read as had more focus on the before ovulation (day of and day after too of course) but not as much as 4 days after. It wouldn't hurt tho to add it in, but I don't think I'd skip the ones before I'd be aiming for them too just to cover all bases.

Funeral went as well as funerals go, felt for my dad and his sisters were breaking their hearts but my granda had a good sent off. DH said one of my aunty's (who knows of our troubles) came up to him afterwards and said you're going to have your baby soon. This year there's been a family wedding, there's been a family death and now it's time for new life in the family next, I just know out of everyone in the family it's going to be you two it happens to.' 😲 I tried to be really practical after the signs when my granda died and not just jump straight back into it but after her saying that too I dunno, I think we may just push on a bit more but stop again if the next time is another loss, at least we can say we well and truly tried but we'll just be having sex no tracking, voodoo magic, yoga posing, eye of newt potions to drink. 😂

Forgot my intro for the newbies: 37, ttc #2 (#1 was around a year ttc with lots of complications and threatened mc during pregnancy, think my body just doesn't like being pregnant!), been on the bus forever, ttc just over 2 years with 8 CPs usually around the 5 1/2week mark couldn't cope with the emotional aspect of ttc anymore so recently began to focus on just being happy with 1, but see above post for trying again for another shot till the next CP 🙈. Have given in on NHS help as they've been as much use as a chocolate tea pot haven't had the same person more than once at the fertility clinic and sick of the 'it was just a biochemical pregnancy, we don't count them, they're very common just keep trying' dismissive phrases that were making me feel even more depressed with each loss. DH SA fine and all my tests have came back fine. Have been told by the clinic IVF is our best option but financially its not for us as too much of a gamble if they haven't discovered why the repeat chemicals keep happening I don't have thousands to spend on IVF just to have another chemical, I can do that on my own for free thank you very much 😂 I dip in and out of the bus depending on how hectic life is or where my heads at that month but have always found the women here so supportive and welcome everyone back with open arms if you need to step off or go up on the roof for a breather. 💕

I don't think it's horrible, just natural more than anything. I think most girls want girls n visa versa for guys (if it's their first), although Dh was adamant he didn't have a preference so he was really chuffed for me as he knew mine.

Bus graduate with a 4 week old baby girl. I have endometriosis and we were trying to conceive for a good year between surgeries and nothing happened. Had my second laparoscopy in June 2020 and was very fortunate to get my BFP in Jan 2021. Unhappy to report that even though I'm breastfeeding it appears my periods are back already, booooo!!! Tagging along to this bus journey as I'm quite attached to this lovely bunch. Xx
