Forgot to ring about blood test results yesterday as had a bit of a lightbulb moment.
Had EWCM on Monday evening (CD8) and more yesterday (CD9) but CB OPKs only showing flashing smiley since Monday am. (Plus really, err... 'in the mood' shall we say...tmi??) This is quite normal but never get peak until around CD14-16.
However, yesterday morning I'm certain I felt ovulation pain - stabbing pain on left side for a few minutes then dull ache on and off for the next few hours. Does that sound right?? I can't say I've ever noticed ovulation pain before but I was never looking out for it this early. Started Googling and turns out OPKs don't work for everyone but also concerned that CD9 is too early for egg to be fully developed. Anyone come across this on any other threads???

I'm no expert but I'm convinced CB tests show my peak static smiley late. I have up to 9 days of flashing smiley and usually I feel symptoms in the days before I get static smiley...

I've started measuring temperature too to try and pin it down

@Eli707 I sometimes get ovulation plan but only on some months. I read into ovulation pain once and I think it is where the egg is getting bigger and ready to be released - so maybe ovulation didn't happen that day but it was getting ready to happen? Have you had any signs since then?

Something funny is definitely going on @Sparklingwine1 Had four days of EWCM so far CD8-11 when normally I've been lucky to get a full day of it (EPO working maybe?). Like you @Plantsandcoffee I've usually had about 8 days of flashing smiley before peak but temp always seems to confirm that as ovulation . This morning got peak after only 4 days of flashing (CD12) which is the earliest I've ever had it (used to be CD15/16 until last proper cycle before jab which was CD14).

Could all tie in the having slow temp rise (today was higher than last few days but still classed as low on my app) which isn't uncommon rather than a sudden rapid one which could mean I've ovulated earlier this week. Going to keep DTD for next couple of days just in case tho.

I don't want to get my hopes up too much but this all feels really positive. Maybe it's taken this long for my body to get over the pill (stopped in Jan)?

@Eli707 sounds like you've been having a right 'mare! I don't think it's usual for cycles to click straight back into a natural rhythm, so you're probably right!

@Sparklingwine1 how are finding the temping? Can you see a regular pattern?

Day 21 blood test didn't show ovulation (unsurprisingly) going to repeat this cycle but not sure what day to go - can anyone help? Day 21 falls on a Sunday but my cycles are 27 days so I think technically I should do day 20 but that's a Saturday. Am I best going on Friday or Monday?? Peak on CB opk was CD 12.

@Eli707 I'm really sorry lovely. I don't know enough about these tests to advise. Can you call the drs and ask them whether the Fri or Mon would be better?

Oh girls I'm so confused by my charts this month 😖

My temping and my OPK tests do not align at all.

me and DH DTD the 2 days before ovulation (or so we thought!) based on using the OPKs. We had assumed O day was CD 14.

But apps think based on my temp that I ovulated on CD 12 and not CD 14, which would mean we didn't manage to DTD the two days before ovulation at all.

It was a tough cycle as we were away for two nights with family (CD 10 and 11) so couldn't do it then.

Would you trust the temp or the OPK test? I am just worried our chances based on ovulating on CD 12 are not as high as if I ovulated on CD 14.

I've attached pics of the test and I think the test line is definitely as dark as the control line. If it makes any difference I think my temp on CD 14 was inaccurate because I slept so badly that night and didn't feel like I'd taken it after a true deep sleep.

All good here although the temping is stressful 😅 I wish I was one of these people who could not do any testing and just be chill about it but I am too much of a control freak 😂

@Sparklingwine1 I'd say trust the OPK, if you've been rushing around and busy your temp might have naturally gone up but you can't argue with the OPKs

@Eli707 personally I'd go for the Monday. If they're looking for ovulation you won't have ovulated by the Friday? And if you're a day late they'll still catch it ☺️

@Sparklingwine1 I agree - all sorts of things can affect temp, I'd trust the OPK.

Thanks @SareBear87 hadn't thought about it like that. Might wait until I know when I've ovulated before booking the blood test.

@Sparklingwine1 from my experience my temp was right and my OPK’s were off two days.. however we only managed to DTD a few days before ov but worked in our favour that month!

@Eli707 I agree with @SareBear87 👋🏻 I’d do the Monday aswell encase you ovulate late!

@Eli707 that all sounds really promising with the EWCM and everything! It may be as you say that your body is just finding it’s rhythm after being on the pill. My body was a massive drama queen about being on the pill and I didn’t get a period for 2 years after I came off (not the norm so don’t worry about that!) whereas my best friend got pregnant the month after she came off so it can vary from person to person and can take a few months.
I’m in the minority so feel free to ignore me, but I’d go for the Friday for your blood test. 21 days is for a 28 day cycle so Id agree yours would be best on day 20 on the Saturday as your cycle is a day shorter. So if you do Monday you would be 2 days out, whereas if you do Friday you would be only 1. From the chart I found online (which I’ll post here) it looks like your progesterone which they’re measure rises and falls around the same rate, but looks higher on day 20 than 22 (which would be the equivalents to Friday and Monday in your cycle). If that makes sense!

@Eli707 sorry meant to say also I agree it’s probably best to wait until after your think you’ve ovulated to book it if you can do you be more sure of dates.

@Sparklingwine1 I’d also trust the OPKs as lots of things can affect temperature. It’s great for confirming you have ovulated but I don’t always think great at pinpointing date. Last cycle when I conceived my temperature didn’t rise until days after I ovulated (picture attached). I had to override FF as they put my ovulation much later and I thought it was wrong, but actually I went for a scan at 10 weeks and they dated me 2 days later which means I would have actually ovulated on day 22, way before my temperature rose! So not sure how accurate it is on the exact date.

How exciting! How are you feeling about it? I’m 12+1 today 🥰 my scan is on Friday 🤞 I can’t believe how quickly these 3 months have gone looking back. Mind you they did drag at the time!

@HRP1990 I was super, super excited and have been counting down the days for weeks, especially with it being my birthday on Friday then scan on Monday as a late birthday present! But my little cat who I have had for 13 years and was my first baby had to be put to sleep (on my knee) on Thursday and I’m just so heartbroken I feel a bit numb right now and struggling to get excitement back. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful as I’m so grateful to be pregnant and I’m sure it will be lovely tomorrow though!!

Ah our dates are sooo close! I’m somewhere between 12+2 and 12+4, as scan dated me at 12+4 but I’m not sure and think it might just be a big baby haha.
Yeah it’s crazy as time seemed to drag, but now I can’t believe it’s 12 weeks already. Bet the second trimester will fly by! That’s great you have your scan so soon too! How are you feeling about it? Do you have a feeling about what you’re having (boy or girl)?

@Mrsspoon3 Aw I’m so sorry to hear that! It’s so hard to lose a pet. I do believe that when you a life ends another is born and that is essentially true in this case! Come tomorrow you’ll get the excitement back, especially driving to the hospital!

We are so close in dates! I was measured a few days ahead at my 8 week scan so I was happy to gain a few days for sure. I have no idea what we’re having to be honest, I’ve been sick a few times but I’m not sure what that would suggest!

I am abit nervous, as my symptoms have started to fade but I’ve read that happens when the placenta kicks in.. but as soon as I see the baby on the scan those nerves will vanish 🥰

@HRP1990 Thank you. It really is, she was my baby and the house just seems so sad and empty without her.

Ah that’s great you gained a few days. It all helps especially in the first trimester! Are you going to tell more people after your scan, or you waiting a bit longer? We’re going to tell basically everyone if all is well tomorrow!

Yeah, I’ve never had any symptoms at all (my husband keeps asking why my boobs haven’t grown like most pregnant women’s 😂), but I have read that symptoms do fade once the placenta takes over, so I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about! The worries will definitely fade once you see them on the scan! 😊

@Mrsspoon3 aw I can imagine! Will you get another kitten? Not to replace of course but some people do feel comforted by another pet.

You’ll have to let us know how tomorrow goes! That’ll bring the excitement back for you, telling everyone! I think we probably will, but in person! Not sure how to tell our parents!? Something more than just.. guess what 😂

Haha I’ve read a few threads on here actually about not having any symptoms and everyone says to count yourself lucky, so I think you’re one of the lucky ones 😂 I reckon your boobs will come later on!

Thanks for all inputting on my chart. My FF chart actually changed the cross hairs this morning - so now it does say O day was CD 14 which makes me feel a lot better 😊
Although one thing that is weird... I normally have 27 day cycles but this cycle my FF app is assuming I will have a 29 day cycle and my Premom app things it will be 28. Strange. I still think it will be 27 days but we'll see.
