Oh also... I have started temping this month again (after a month off) and I've realised my Fertility Friend app has gone really rubbish. I didn't know that when I used it before it was on a months free trial ?? and now I have limited benefits...
did anybody pay to have the VIP package? I'm debating paying for three months ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Sparklingwine1 · 24/08/2021 14:18

Also realised I've forgotten to reply to some of you - sorry, work has been so busy.

@Eli707 did u find out if you ovulated? When does your next cycle start? Keeping everything crossed for you that all tests come back fine ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

@Aries491 did the ๐Ÿง™ get you? I know exactly what you mean as I get really snappy before AF arrives... this months snappiness was because Tesco gave us spinach with a short sell by date on our online shopping delivery ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ when I went to eat it, it was all wilting and manky and it just sent me into a spinach induced rage. That witch does funny things to us!

KayL1988 · 24/08/2021 19:47

I'm doing alright thanks @Sparklingwine1 I've had my 12 week scan and my screening tests back, so all feeling super real!!

I did pay for premium of FF which I found quite useful for comparing charts similar to mine. Not sure what else I'd used the advance functionality for, I did also track on premom or one of the free apps and that was alright too!

Eli707 · 25/08/2021 06:16

Thanks @Mrsspoon3 that's good to know - although my concern is we've been referred so quick because the wait time for an appointment is going to be a long one!

No test results yet @Sparklingwine1 and AF arrived on Monday as I suspected it might. This is exactly what happened after my first covid jab and had my second about a month ago so shouldn't have been surprised. At least that's done with now and shouldn't mess things up again.

Sparklingwine1 · 25/08/2021 08:19

@Eli707 sorry the ๐Ÿง™ got you. I can't believe how many women have had their cycles messed up by the covid jabs! They should definitely start listing it as an official side effect if they don't already

@KayL1988 I bet it is feeling real now!! Have you joined any of the MN pregnancy threads yet?

So with the FF app, apparently after the free trial you don't get the DPOs written on it! So I am definitely going to upgrade today as I like seeing that.

Plantsandcoffee · 25/08/2021 08:42

Hi everyone,

Hope itโ€™s ok if I join this chat - couldnโ€™t resist the group chat name

Iโ€™m 32 TTC, Iโ€™ve been and had all primary test, bloods and pelvic ultrasound and been told Iโ€™m all good. DH has less than ideal SA but itโ€™s not awful and while we have been referred to Guys St Thomas weโ€™ve been told we can still conceive naturally so still go for it.

Iโ€™m looking for support in finding my most fertile times - Iโ€™m not 100% Iโ€™ve got it right every month. Iโ€™ve been using CB ovulation tests I always have the flashing smiley face for a long period up to 10 days and get the High static smiley on day 20-21 of my cycle. I donโ€™t see much obvious EwCM.

Looking for tips on really knowing my ovulation dates and the best pre pregnancy supplements there are. Ideally Iโ€™d like my EWCM to be really obvious so Iโ€™d know for sure.

All advice welcome

Bundaberg84 · 25/08/2021 08:56

Hi @Plantsandcoffee!

If you're using the CB ovulation tests you're doing a lot already! Not everyone has EWCM, at least I don't really, or at least not every month. But I still managed to get pregnant twice now (unfortunately didn't stick, hence I'm in that thread).

What pregnancy supplements do you take so far? I've heard good things about evening primrose oil and and EWCM, I started taking them as well last month.

Plantsandcoffee · 25/08/2021 09:22

Hey @Bundaberg84

Thanks for the welcome. I'm taking seven seas folic acid and that's it. Will look at evening primrose... have you noticed a difference yet since you started taking them?

Can the CB ovulation test get it wrong? I thought a peak ovulation day on the 21 CD was kind of late for someone who has an average cycle length of 30 days?

I find it all so confusing!

Aries491 · 25/08/2021 09:29

@Sparklingwine1 she definitely did! Although on my last day now so feeling much better haha! The weird anger is the worst...the perils of being a woman haha ๐Ÿ˜„

Welcome @Plantsandcoffee it's a minefield isn't it! But as bundaberg said you're already doing a lot using those :) I used CB OPKs for a month but they are a bit pricy so trying just tracking my CM and seeing how it goes. Might start them again if no luck this next cycle.

What CD is everyone on at the moment?

Plantsandcoffee · 25/08/2021 10:11

Hey @Aries491

I'm CD 7 at the moment.

The CB ovulation tests are so expensive this is also why I'm wondering if they're any good. Not worth the cost if they're not exact.

Mrsspoon3 · 25/08/2021 10:23

Thanks @Sparklingwine1, Iโ€™m good thank you! Got my 12 week scan week after next, but had a 10 week one this week as was feeling anxious as still had no symptoms at all, and baby was perfect! ๐Ÿ˜Š
Also have they changed FF? I never paid for mine and it always showed DPOs. Thatโ€™s weird if theyโ€™ve changed it!

Thatโ€™s so exciting @KayL1988! Past the 12 week mark, how exciting! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ah hopefully thatโ€™s not the case @Eli707! Thatโ€™s good youโ€™re getting tests done though in the meantime!

Welcome to the group @Plantsandcoffee! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Bundaberg84 · 25/08/2021 11:49

@Plantsandcoffee honestly I didn't pay any attention last month, was in holidays and didn't actively TTC :) and ovulation isn't until this weekend, so I guess I'll see then?
I don't think the cb ovulation will get it wrong, after all it detected a lh surge. It is rather late though, but everyone's luteal phase is different in length. If it's too short you might want to talk to a GP or OB about it. But you haven't got your AF yet, right? Maybe you're having a longer cycle this month?

Eli707 · 25/08/2021 12:45

@Sparklingwine1 I think their stance is ridiculous, instead of admitting what is actually happening they're just insisting it has no effect when clearly it does. All that does it fuels peoples distrust in it which is so dangerous. Keep seeing so many stories about unvaccinated pregnant women who have dies from covid which is just so sad. Happy to trade a couple of dodgy cycles for my overall health.

Hey @Plantsandcoffee - nice to have a new face ๐Ÿ™‚ Are you tracking your temp? That should give you a good indication of whether your peak on CB is accurate. I've been getting static smiley around CD15/16 and then temp rise from day 16/17 so ties in with ovulation. I don't get good EWCM either so have been taking evening primrose until ovulation (not good to take it after) has only been 2 months so perhaps a little to soon to say if it's working. If you're interested in taking supplements would recommend reading 'It starts with the egg' or if you want more advice on timing and your cycle 'The impatient woman's guides to getting pregnant' is a really easy read ๐Ÿ“š

Plantsandcoffee · 25/08/2021 19:13

Hey @Bundaberg84

Hope you had a lovely holiday!

My luteal phase seems to vary from 9-12 days if CB test is correct. I guess I just have the "you ovulate 14 days" drilled into me, so I was questioning the test. I had AF come on 19th August so I'm CD7 today. According to Flo app, fertile window starts on the 3rd September and ovulation is on 7th sept which is CD20. I'm actually all out of CB tests and didn't buy any for this month as I was feeling a bit fed up with it all. Have some basic LH tests so might use them this month instead.

Going to start monitoring temp thanks for the top @Eli707

X

Aries491 · 26/08/2021 12:25

I am CD5 @Plantsandcoffee so just finished AF now and due to O between CD15 and 17 but i have varying cycle lengths (averaging at around 30) so it could be up to CD20 as has been before. I would try the basic LH tests see how they go with the CB being quite pricey, they will give you a good enough indication I'm sure and just DTD when you can :)

Hope everyone else is doing well? Lovely to see the BFP ladies updates :) xx

Bundaberg84 · 26/08/2021 12:34

@Plantsandcoffee thank you, I had! No beach weather though, but it was relaxing either way. Being away from work is always great.

Interesting about your luteal phase. I really thought it's always +/- 1 day the same length each cycle. Let's see how the LH tests work for you. But if your luteal phase keeps being short (less than 10 days) you might want to look into that.

Eli707 · 27/08/2021 05:34

Back on the wagon, ready for next cycle CD5 so FW just round the corner. Trying to be positive.

Been on holiday this week and found myself starring longingly at other people's kids and pregnant bumps. I never thought I'd be this person.

Heard nothing from blood test and has been a week now. Maybe I should be ringing them? Although not sure what the point is when I know I didn't ovulate...

Hope everyone else is ok x

Aries491 · 27/08/2021 09:08

@Eli707 looks like we're similar cycle times I'm CD6 today so gonna get back on the wagon ASAP haha :) fingers crossed and baby dust for this cycle ๐Ÿ’œ

I know how you feel, i keep seeing old colleagues etc getting pregnant and I'm really wanting it to be me...we will get it one day soon I'm sure.

I would ring the Dr's anyway see what they say :)

Eli707 · 27/08/2021 10:14

Thanks @Aries491

Will give them a call after the bank holiday I think.

Sparklingwine1 · 28/08/2021 06:33

Welcome @Plantsandcoffee - I agree about temping. It won't tell you your fertile window but it is a useful tool for confirming when you have ovulated. I was using the cheap OPK sticks but I struggle to find a really high peak on them. I like temping because it confirms when I ovulate. Make sure it's a proper BBT one though - I bought the easy @ home one which synchs with the app.

I know that some women also check the position of their cervix as this is supposed to change in a similar way to cervical mucus when you are due to ovulate - however I have literally no idea how this works. Could be worth a google though.

Sparklingwine1 · 28/08/2021 06:41

I'm CD10 today girls and into the FW (starts playing Barry White ๐Ÿ˜).

Im back to temping this cycle and kind of enjoying it. I'm using OPKs but only half heartedly tbh. Also using pre-seed again this cycle. Still taking pregnacare vitamins although I'm starting to resent paying for them every month because they are so expensive!!

Hope you hear from the docs soon @Eli707

Eli707 · 28/08/2021 19:39

No news from blood test yet but had referral appointment from fertility clinic which is in mid-Feb! That will make it a year since we started ttc. Feeling like this is never going to happen

Plantsandcoffee · 29/08/2021 08:03

Thanks @Sparklingwine1

Wishing you luck for this cycle.

Yes a friend has recommended natural cycles for now I'm just using a thermometer we have at home.

I heard about checking cervix position but its defo something I need to research.

@Eli707 hang in there I've been ttc for a year too. I know that feeling! I'm currently waiting for an initial appointment with a fertility clinic. Xx

Sparklingwine1 · 29/08/2021 09:27

Thanks @Plantsandcoffee - this is what my BBT chart looked like two months ago (I didn't temp last month and this month I'm in the middle of). Everyone's charts are different but the main thing is it increases after ovulation and stays up, until you get your period and then goes back down (if you are pregnant it stays up).

You have to try and take it at the same time each morning which sometimes I find difficult and take it the first second you wake up (before going for a wee or having a drink or anything). Hope that helps.

๐Ÿง™please, fellas impregnate, Iโ€™m here to ovulate ๐Ÿฆฅ
Sparklingwine1 · 29/08/2021 10:03

Sending a big hug @Eli707 it's hard to be patient isn't it? I'm surprised at the wait length for the appointment to be honest! Are you just going to keep trying in the lead up to the appointment? I guess one thing you could focus on is gathering as much information as possible so like cycle length and patterns and stuff, which might come in handy come feb if they ask lots of questions x
