A tiny rise, not convinced my ovulation is a โ€˜goodโ€™ one or maybe I didnโ€™t even ovulate at all. Problem is I feel like my failed attempts raises cover line but equally I feel like my rise is a bit rubbish. Wait and see I guess.

SkeletonSkins · 15/07/2021 10:12

If I exclude my โ€˜failed attemptsโ€™ then it looks a bit better but thatโ€™s just a bit artifical really isnโ€™t it ๐Ÿ˜‚

Seventh consecutive day of spotting here now, CD 29. Honestly thinking I need my progesterone levels to be investigated as this canโ€™t be right.

Skeleton I donโ€™t think it is artificial to remove your failed attempts? I think yours and @Sparklingwine1โ€™s charts look good! Smile

HRP1990 · 15/07/2021 11:29

@SkeletonSkins Iโ€™d just focus on ovulation-now! Youโ€™re temps are high so I think it looks good! This is your first cycle tracking ovulation isnโ€™t it? If not how does it compare to previous?

The rise could still rise more tomorrow ๐Ÿคž

Welcome to the thread @Whysitsohard91 and @Lalala1985!

Ah itโ€™s nice to see your messages @Peachycream! Was wondering how you were doing! Sorry to hear you had a bit of a rubbish conversation with the ex. It does sound like youโ€™re well rid! I know itโ€™s hard though! You might not be a self help book type of person (I love them haha ๐Ÿ˜‚ ) but I found the book โ€˜Itโ€™s Called a Breakup Because Itโ€™s Brokenโ€™ really good when I went through a tough breakup. Itโ€™s quite entertaining and good at putting things into perspective!
Also I know I HATE when people say โ€œThereโ€™s still plenty of timeโ€ haha, but really thereโ€™s still plenty of time for you on the kids front, whether you end up meeting someone else or decide to go it alone. I was single for 10 after breaking up with my boyfriend at 24, and didnโ€™t meet my now husband until I was 34, and I always thought Iโ€™d adopt if I didnโ€™t meet anyone as always wanted to be a mum. Obviously thatโ€™s not for everyone but just meaning there are different routes. And youโ€™re still younger than I was when I met my husband! So donโ€™t give up on all that if itโ€™s something you want! But definitely it sounds good to just take some to focus on yourself. Hope youโ€™re ok xx

@Sparklingwine1 your chart looks great! My chart often keeps climbing, and did this month. Also no symptoms is super common at this stage, and apparently a lot of people donโ€™t get any until 7 weeks! I have no symptoms at all now (at 20dpo) which I have been a little worried about, but my mum said she didnโ€™t have any her entire pregnancy and apparently it can be hereditary, so trying not to think about it! But your chart looks great!! Smile

Sparklingwine1 · 15/07/2021 16:00

Thank you so much for everyone's comments on my chart

I have been slightly worried for the past two months that I don't seem to get very high LH test levels!! (My peak two months ago was 0.8, last months peak was 0.45 and this month it's about 0.58). I know everyone's different and some people do get lower levels and lower peaks but it has been bugging me a bit this month. So the fact my temps are looking good makes me feel a bit better. I hope that it shows even though my LH peaks aren't super high mountains that I'm still ovulating fine ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

God this TTC stuff is stressful ๐Ÿ˜…

Honestly don't know what I would do without this group!

Have you tried different brands of tests? Could be that some are more sensitive than others. I've had some where I've hit 200% and others my peak was 120%.
Whysitsohard91 · 15/07/2021 21:36

@Sparklingwine1 Itโ€™s such a headache trying to interpret the data! I used some Easy Premom ones last month (looked like two separate peaks up to about 0.9) but I think I might just fork out for clearblue this month to get a yes/no answer.

SkeletonSkins · 16/07/2021 06:51

Another temp drop for me this morning and Iโ€™m feeling crampy so safe to say AF is on her way and Iโ€™m out this month. Thatโ€™s fine though as my ovulation was so much earlier this month, I donโ€™t think it was a great ovulation as my temps struggled to stay high but thatโ€™s fine, weโ€™ll see how we get on next month. Im going to take vitamin c this cycle as apparently that increases progesterone? Might help me maybe?

Peachycream · 16/07/2021 07:07

@SkeletonSkins wouldnโ€™t it be good if you could test to see if it was a quality egg or not? Haha.
With the progesterone though, Iโ€™m not sure that would be a problem unless you are spotting between periods? I think thatโ€™s the clear sign that progesterone levels could be out of whack? But thatโ€™s only what Iโ€™ve had a quick squizz at.
Have you had a look into soy isoflavones? I believe, keyword being believe, they help egg quality and ovulation. So they may be worth having a look into? Iโ€™ve also seen something else, but youโ€™ll have to give me an hour or 2 to have a look at that and get back to you on it, gotta pop out

So annoyed - got peak smiley on CB this morning. Didn't DTD last night, did Wed instead, and have really good EWCM but couldn't do it this morning as we were dashing off for a weekend away. Hoping it will stay til tonight as doesn't usually last long at all. Far too old now for a quickie in the car... ๐Ÿš˜ ๐Ÿ˜ˆ ๐Ÿคฃ

How's everyone else doing? x

80sPadme · 16/07/2021 08:35

Tested again today and a BFN! ;-( I'm 9/10 dpo) I think that's me out for a few months TBH, I need a wee break from peeing on sticks and trying to get nookie in at the time.
I've had the most horrendous UTI which has now given me back ache and retention that's bloating me out

Eli707 · 16/07/2021 08:43

@SkeletonSkins - sorry it's looking like it hasn't worked out this month but happy for you that you've ovulated much earlier x

Hope you're ok @80sPadme - that doesn't sound pleasant at all

SkeletonSkins · 16/07/2021 10:10

Thanks all, yes definitely a positive that ovulation is kicking into gear. Hoping I can be a bit more chilled next cycle and go with the flow a bit more now itโ€™s less of the โ€˜unknownโ€™. Also planning to get back on track with my eating.

Sorry about the BFN @80sPadme although youโ€™re still early days so donโ€™t think youโ€™re totally out of the running yet. I know how you feel needing a break, and your UTI sounds horrendous.

whatwonder · 16/07/2021 10:23

I need advice from this hive mind please.

This is now the second cycle in a row where my OH has struggled to DTD. The first time it happened last cycle, he totally got in his head and basically psyched himself out. I tried not to make a big deal about it because I didnโ€™t want to make anything worse. Fast forward to this cycle and Iโ€™m in my โ€œpeakโ€ days within my FW and the same thing happened today. I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s performance anxiety or something else but Iโ€™m really starting to get upset and I canโ€™t help but think worst case scenario. Iโ€™ve tried to not tell him when my FW is to keep the pressure off, but the reality is that there is only a few days a month where conception can happen. I feel like anything I say will make it worse but then at the same time I also feel like itโ€™s valid for me to be upset. We put ourselves through so much when ttc, I donโ€™t think these bloody men realise! Literally all they need to do is have an orgasm. We still have a window over the next few days (predicted ovulation on Sunday) but I canโ€™t help but get anxious that the same thing is going to keep happening and then thatโ€™s this cycle gone, and what if it happens the next cycle. We havenโ€™t told anyone weโ€™re ttc so I donโ€™t have anyone I can talk to, and I donโ€™t want to talk to my OH because I donโ€™t want to make him upset or put more pressure on him. But ffs, his contribution to this isnโ€™t that taxing.

Sparklingwine1 · 16/07/2021 10:44

Thanks @Lalala1985 and @Whysitsohard91 that's a good point about trying different OPKs... although I use the easy @home ones at the moment and thought they were supposed to be good ๐Ÿค” I genuinely may switch to the CB digital next month because the line darkness is so confusing sometimes.

@SkeletonSkins sorry to hear AF is on her way but you have definitely had some wins this month with the earlier ovulation and shorter cycle! I'm keeping every crossed that next month is an even better cycle for u.

Hope you're ok @80sPadme that's still quite early to test though. I don't blame u for wanting a break I think it can become so intense and all consuming at times! Especially if you've been poorly. On a separate note- did u know u can get pee sticks on Amazon that test for urine infections? As if we need any more pee sticks in our life!!

Sparklingwine1 · 16/07/2021 10:52

@whatwonder argh that must be so frustrating for u! Your feelings are TOTALLY valid... men don't always get how much effort we put in every month ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ค

If you're getting desperate maybe you could try foreplay in the lead up, then just DTD quickly at the last minute? ๐Ÿค” it might take the pressure off him?

I don't know if this makes u feel any better but I think this is surprisingly more common than we realise. I read an interesting thread the other day on self insemination and some of the ladies on there did it that way because their partner had performance anxiety. Some did like half and half (Both DTD and SI) to get more chances in the fertile window without causing too much pressure on their OH to DTD all the time.

Mrsspoon3 · 16/07/2021 11:50

Sorry to hear that @SkeletonSkins and @80sPadme. Hopefully thereโ€™s still time for things to turn around, or it not hoping next month is your month!!

Hope it lasts until tonight @Eli707 and you can make the most of it while away! Hope you have a lovely weekend away.

@whatwonder I have no great advice, but definitely sympathise and know how frustrating it is. My husband had hip surgery a few months ago and would struggle to dtd as the pain would get so bad and then heโ€™d worry he wasnโ€™t going to be able to do it, which would throw him off and he wouldnโ€™t. We had lots of attempts where it just didnโ€™t happen, although he was a trouper and give it a good go despite the pain, so I was really appreciative but also super frustrated! In the end (and I think the time we actually conceived haha) he had to sort of take care of himself while I sat downstairs so he didnโ€™t feel pressured, then he texted me at the last minute and I ran up and we dtd ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The glamorous world of ttc! You donโ€™t have to go to that extreme haha, but maybe as @Sparklingwine1 said you could try foreplay then dtd at last minute. Hope things get easier for you both!

taytay2020 · 16/07/2021 11:56

@whatwonder Yep I totally get this. You are not the only one! I've been on quite the rollercoaster with my DH in the last few months. He's 100% on board with ttc but if he's not quite in the mood to dtd then it doesn't matter what we try, it won't make a difference. And once we've had one unsuccessful session he really gets into his head and it'll probably happen next time too.

.

Early on in the ttc process he'd just say he wasn't in the mood that week due to stress at work - cue tears from me because it felt like he'd made the executive decision not to bother that month. So that led to a lot of strategic 'get a bit more exercise this week so that you sleep well', 'let's go for a walk or meet friends to keep up good mental health', 'this week we're eating easy meals so we don't waste time cooking' etc etc. We also started watching Babies on Netflix, to normalise parenthood a bit, and take that fear out of the equation.

.

Another strategy: DTD several times a day so that if morning doesn't happen then afternoon or evening might - this works best on hols when we have loads of time!

.

I've learnt that the words I use make a big difference. Making jokes about it is a big no-no (which is a shame cos my first instinct to lighten the mood!). Blaming tiredness is also out (which again, makes no sense to me cos I see this as the perfect excuse, and much better than 'nah I just don't fancy it').

.

I really feel for him because he really does try - even when he knows his body isn't really in the mood - and he says himself that he knows how important it is. I can assure you that it does get better but even so, I think this month I'll be hiding my opks to take the pressure off a bit more. Even though he's quite capable of doing the cycle maths I reckon he's also good at forgetting what day it is. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sparklingwine1 · 16/07/2021 14:49

@Mrsspoon3 I have this image of you downstairs, eating tortilla chips and dip whilst watching girly TV and then getting the text and being like 'FUCK.. SEXY MODE, SEXY MODE' and frantically brushing crumbs off yourself and fluffing up your hair before rushing upstairs ๐Ÿ˜‚

HRP1990 · 16/07/2021 15:41

One to tell the kids @Mrsspoon3 ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Ours was conceived during isolation haha what other way is there to spend 10 days stuck together indoors ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Mrsspoon3 · 16/07/2021 19:05

Haha that made me laugh @Sparklingwine1 ๐Ÿ˜‚ It definitely was a little like that ๐Ÿ˜‚
Haha I know @HRP1990, what a story ๐Ÿ˜‚ It definitely wasnโ€™t what I imagined ttc would be like. I remember saying to my husband, โ€œIt will be fine, thereโ€™ll be no pressure, it will just be nice and relaxed and weโ€™ll enjoy it!โ€ Totally wasnโ€™t like that at all! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Haha definitely the best use of isolation HRP1990!

Feeling really down today ladies. Thinking my chart looks anovulatory as the temp rise just isnโ€™t there. Not really sure what else I can do to try and help my body along. Going to try and get back on a lower carb diet but just feeling rubbish and sad today, and like I really hate my body. Not sure whether to speak to the GP as Iโ€™m now 6 months off the pill and my cycles if anything seem to be getting worse, with the last two being anovulatory. But then I feel like theyโ€™ll just say oh give it more time. I just feel like a hormonal mess to be honest.

I can see a slight rise, but not an obvious rise. Have you tried OPKs as well? I wouldn't rely solely on BBT as I find it can be quite unreliable. Mine are all over the place, but I can general see a difference of a about 0.3 degrees post ovulation. Also NICE guidelines are not to use it, which is why I don't rely on it on its own. Have you had a period yet? I'd definitely go to your go if they haven't come back. Though even then they might say that it can take a while.

My periods didn't come back after stopping the pill (10 yrs ago!), and I remember being in the same situ, my drs were telling me it takes time but I knew something was wrong (the reason I stopped taking the pill), it took a long time and many different drs before they tested me for the right thing, so I'd definitely get the ball rolling.

SkeletonSkins · 17/07/2021 08:57

Yeah Iโ€™ve had 4 cycles since coming off the pill, one indefinitely ovulated, one maybe, on I definitely didnโ€™t, and this one. Yeah I had positive OPKs a few times in this cycle but then failed to actually ovulate, and then had one CD29.

Iโ€™ve had my little cry, now I need to get on with it. I need to get back on low carb so Iโ€™m going to go and do a food shop now and get some stuff. Increase my myo inositol and then see how I get on.
