Thanks for setting up @xoJellybean Smile x

taytay2020 · 04/07/2021 10:04

Helloooo! Thanks for setting this up @xojellybean!

I've been a bit absent from MN for the last week or so, and it has definitely helped me stay sane during the tww 😂

I'm currently 10dpo and not planning to test early....

xoJellybean · 04/07/2021 15:05

@Lebe14 no probs!!

@taytay2020 welcome back 🤩 how are you feeling? Fingers crossed for ya 🤞🏻

Hi ladies, I'm TTC for baby #1 since start of June. I've missed a period but am getting negative tests. I've heard vaccines can cause delays in periods but I haven't had mine yet so doesn't apply to me.. I presume my body's just confused as am I Hmm anyone else had a similar experience?

xoJellybean · 04/07/2021 18:31

Hey @hafcymru 🥰 did you come off the pill or anything? Are you tracking your temp or using OPKs x

westonx · 04/07/2021 18:45

Hi everyone 👋🏻

We are TTC baby number 1 starting this month. Feeling a bit nervous but also so excited! How are you all feeling?! ☺️

Lebe14 · 04/07/2021 21:20

@taytay2020 welcome back. Hope you're well. Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

@hafcymru I guess it depends if you've recently come off BC. It took me about 4 and a half weeks for AF to arrive after stopping the POP but then my cycles were regular from then. My first vaccine didn't affect my cycle at all, but I know it has caused others issues. Hoping my 2nd vaccine at the end of this month doesn't mess anything up!

@westonx welcome to the group!! Such an exciting step. Are you taking it easy and seeing what happens or are you planning on using an app/OPKs/temping? I'm on day 2 of AF and will be going onto cycle #10 of TTC.

Chocco94 · 04/07/2021 21:47

Hi ladies, mind if I join?
Actively TTC #1 after a mmc in late April when we were in the 'not trying, not being careful phase'. The whole experience made OH realise how much he had warmed up to the idea- finallyGrin

Currently CD14 and using clearblue digital OPK for the first time. I can tell these smiley faces are going to drive me insane already!! Baby dust to everyone🤞

Lebe14 · 05/07/2021 12:35

@Chocco94 welcome - the more, the merrier! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage ☹️ must've been really tough x

The clear blue digital OPKs are great - I've been using them since November last year apart from a couple of months where I gave them a miss. They're really simple to use and worth the price as there's no guessing game with them.

Fingers crossed this is your lucky month! X

westonx · 05/07/2021 18:35

@Lebe14 ahh thank you! 🥰 I used apps anyway but apart from that will just be seeing what happens for a while. Fingers crossed July will be your month 🤞🏻

BritInNZ · 05/07/2021 20:44

Just started month 6 of TTC #1. Every month gets harder and harder! I'm going to see a Dr next week as I think I might have some hormone imbalances. Will see if they actually test anything or make me wait another 6 months!

xoJellybean · 05/07/2021 21:20

@BritInNZ they tested my bloods when I asked!! I seem to have a really nice GP, she's also referred me to the fertility clinic too, fingers crossed for you ✨🤞🏻

taytay2020 · 05/07/2021 22:04

@Lebe14 @xojellybean thanks! I've not noticed any symptoms at all tbh, although I don't really get any symptoms before my period either so I guess that's not necessarily a bad sign.

After last month's BFN I said I'd take this opportunity to start doing more exercise and lose a bit of lockdown weight, and guys, I genuinely did it! I've been running, I've been swimming, I've done walking... I'm feeling so virtuous right now!

BritInNZ · 05/07/2021 22:28

@xoJellybean I'm in New Zealand so I'm not sure they'll be so lenient! I just get really bad period pains five days before my period and my boobs hurt so much I can't do exercise and live in a sports bra, which definitely isn't normal!

xoJellybean · 05/07/2021 22:49

@BritInNZ I'm north of Ireland so who knows 🥰 fingers crossed for you anyway! Those symptoms sound like you've got a good rise of progesterone in your luteal phase though ☺️

@taytay2020 oh wow go you!! Give me some of your motivation 🤣 I've just started to get healthier but no results yet 🙈

Chocco94 · 06/07/2021 00:26

@Lebe14 thank you for your well wishes. It was such a traumatic experience and probably didn't come across quite right in my last comment. That'll teach me for typing on the run!

Four days of flashy smiley's so far and on CD15 of what is normally 31. I've read some people have up to 7-10 days. I hope I'm not one of those people! 😅 I'm from Australia and they definitely know how to charge for any decent ovulation and pregnancy test. Hoping not to have to use them month after month after either getting BFP or getting a fair idea on my O date.

@BritInNZ oh hi neighbour! I'm in Aus (Canberra). Have actually just recently come back from a holiday visiting the north Island. OH and I love it over there😊
Have you always had your bad symptoms? That does sound quite excessive and this is coming from someone who was consistently off every month for a good 1-3 days with cramping.

I actually watched a video recently from 'mamadoctorjones'. She is a legit ob gyn. In it she mentions something that should get any decent GPs butt into gear and something that I would have never thought of saying to a GP. "This is interfering with my ability to live my life like I want". If that doesn't get action from somebody, I don't know what would!

BritInNZ · 06/07/2021 00:48

@Chocco94 hey neighbour! Luckily you got back in time for the travel bubble closing aye! I've actually never been to Oz, as soon as this 'little' pandemic is over I will be there for a holiday!

Yep I've always had bad symptoms - not necessarily period pains (at least not for the last 18 months) but my boobs are always agony. They get really big and tender around two weeks before AF and then the final week they turn into agony. Dr Google says I might have too much progesterone so I just want it checking/sorting tbh! It might not be anything to do with why I can't fall pregnant but I feel like I'd rather check now than wait until that 12 month mark and find out I could have sorted it ages ago.

That's a really good idea, thank you. I'm also going to look her up on Google now!

Chocco94 · 06/07/2021 07:55

@BritInNZ yes, we just managed to sneak back in without any issues thankfully! Don't come over to visit us anytime soon. It was cheaper for us (by half!) to go to NZ for a week than travel pretty much anywhere in Aus. So ridiculous!

I completely agree with your thinking. I would kick myself if I found out I'd "wasted" a year TTC because of something relatively simple to fix. Are you currently on any multi/pregnancy vitamins? Surprisingly some of my PMS symptoms died down after starting them. I guess I was just deficient in something.

Did you find anything helpful on the ob gyn? I have only recently started stumbling upon her videos on FB. I wish more people in the health profession did something like this!

BritInNZ · 06/07/2021 08:24

@Chocco94 that's exactly the same as NZ! You could fly to Raro and have a holiday for the same as it costs for return flights to Queenstown - ridiculous!

My Dr prescribed me folic acid and potassium iodine when I saw him at the start of the year but they completely messed up my cycles. I'd had 6 months of 28 day cycles and that month was 36 days! So I stopped taking them and now just take general multi vitamins. They have given me the shortest AF ever - 3 days! So I don't mind that for a side effect 😂

I haven't had a chance to look yet, will definitely take a look tomorrow morning on the train to work. I feel like I've read just about everything when it comes to TTC now! My husband is so chill and there's me glued to Dr Google and sad when AF comes haha

taytay2020 · 06/07/2021 09:12

@chocco94 @britinnz I second the mamadoctorjones recommendation! She's great! I also only recently discovered her videos and now I'm a bit addicted.

.

@chocco94 I used to rely on CB opks (and still have a few left) but now that I've been off the pill for a few months and I know my natural cycle better, I've found that I don't need those extra days of flashing smileys to find my fertile week. I now just try to pinpoint my LH surge using easy@home strips from amazon, along with the premom app to analyse them and tell me whether it's my surge yet! If you can get these in your country it's much cheaper than CB!

Chocco94 · 06/07/2021 09:40

@taytay2020 me too! Some of those "I didn't know I was pregnant" videos are insane 🤯 she is amazing though. I would pay good money to find someone like her locally!

I think I will do another two or three cycles of CB (if unsuccessful this month) to see if my O date is around the same and will then give the cheapies a go from there. I'll no doubt have PTSD from smiley faces by then😂
This could be a silly question but can you use any strip tests with the app or specifically has to be that one?

Chocco94 · 06/07/2021 09:44

@BritInNZ I'm slightly jealous of your 3 day AF if I'm honest. That's a shame how the vitamins messed with your cycle though. You try to do the right thing and it backfires!!

taytay2020 · 06/07/2021 11:38

@chocco94 I'm not sure if other brands would be analysed by the app in the same way, but my guess is no. It didn't try to interpret my hcg result (bfn!) from another brand, it just saved the picture I took. I'm having difficulty attaching a screenshot - will try again in a bit so that you can see the various options for logging test results at the top.

BritInNZ · 06/07/2021 20:44

@Chocco94 well I didn't bleed at all yesterday. I wake up today and AF is back again... just another reason why I need see the doctor! I swear ever since TTC my hormones and periods have been all over the place, they were VERY regular as far back as my records go 😭 then from April onwards they've been so unpredictable!

BritInNZ · 06/07/2021 20:46

Oh! And I started BBT this morning. I used CB ovulation tests one month (when they were half price!) and only ever got flashing smileys. I can't commit to buying them every month when they cost $50 for 10!
