@BritInNZ I have seen people on a few threads say the same thing as you. As soon as they are actively TTC their cycles have been all over the place. How odd. Was April the month that the doctor originally prescribed your tablets?

@Chocco94 yep I think it was April. I had a chat with a nurse at Fertility Associates today and she said the one year wait for referral only counts if you don't have any underlying issues. So basically I can ask them to check for endo etc now and if they discover it I can get a public funded referral now. So fingers crossed for doctors on Monday! Just had one of those quiet days at work where I can't stop thinking about it and worrying what's wrong with me!

@BritInNZ that sounds like a step in the right direction for you. I hope your GP takes it seriously and starts the ball rolling for testing ASAP. Let us know how you get on

How's everyone doing today? I'm 14dpo and got a BFN this morning. I'm feeling pretty chill about it, but I'm starting to realise we may be in this for the long haul - that's 5 full cycles now without a sniff of a positive. 😭

We were going to take a break now until 2022 to avoid clashing with our wedding reception next summer, but I think we'll try and squeeze in one more cycle first, just in case! I love the idea of doing a baby naming ceremony at our wedding reception instead of a wedding ceremony (as we are already legally married - thanks covid). Will try not to get my hopes up though!

Is anyone else testing soon?

@taytay2020 I think I read that average it takes is 6 months so fingers crossed for you soon! ☺️🤞🏻

We are in the “trying” phase of the month and with it being our first cycle it’s been odd afters years of being so careful!

We are getting married in summer 2023 (two rescheduled weddings from 2020 and 2021 due to COVID!) and a naming ceremony as well sounds lovely! I always think of baby being wheeled down the aisle in those flowery carts 😆🌸

@taytay2020 sorry to hear about the BFN. When is AF due? I don't think I've ever got to 14 DPO with my LP 😂☹️ fingers tightly crossed for you that it's your month!! Great that you have one more cycle before you take a break. Keep us updated!

@Lebe14 this is pretty standard for me, af is due tomorrow or Saturday. (I'm hoping Saturday cos I stupidly already paid to go swimming tomorrow!) Slight punch to the gut today when I found out a friend is pregnant - I'm thrilled for her obviously but man I really wanted that December baby!

@taytay2020 it's so hard isn't it. You want to be happy for them, and you are, but then there's a feeling of sadness for yourself too.... and then guilt for feeling sad!! It will be our turn at some point and you're still not out this month! Fingers crossed xx

@Chocco94 I decided to postpone Dr visit. If they discover something like endo then it's an 18 month waiting list on public funding, so I think I'm going to sort health insurance first just in case. I spoke to Fertility Associates too, and I can have initial consultation and tests for me and hubby for $300 which I might do for ease of mind in the meantime.

@BritInNZ wow I can't believe it would be so long for NZ. Good idea getting health insurance now and getting the initial testing out of the way. How does your DH feel about doing his side of the tests?

@taytay2020 sorry to hear about your bfn. One more month can't possibly hurt.
I've currently had 7 days of flashy smiley's (potentially 8 as I haven't tested this morning yet) and impatiently waiting for peak 🤦‍♀️ want this tww to start already

@westonx fingers crossed for you this month! I know what you mean about it feeling odd. It goes against everything I've been told since I was a tween about being "safe" 😂. Are you tracking with OPKs, temping etc. or keeping it fun for the first few months? I would recommend to keep going with the fun way for the for now. These smiley's on my opks are driving me loopy already and it's the first month of using them!!😅

@Chocco94 he's actually really keen to do the tests 😂 probably more for my peace of mind than anything! I went for fertility acupuncture on Friday - interesting experience haha. Not sure what I was expecting but didn't feel relaxed or anything after. She was super helpful with providing info though and has taught me to track BBT and will review my graphs to see what's going on - it's like going to see a doctor!

@BritInNZ great that he is on board. One less thing to worry about!
Oh, it's interesting to hear about your experience. I feel like I would have the same reaction as you- not finding it relaxing but interested in all the other details they can help with. Did they recommend when is the best time to go for acupuncture? Just before ovulation or perhaps even in the tww to potentially help a bean stick?🤔

@Chocco94 so I went on CD4 and she asked whether I'd timed it on purpose because it was a great time to go for first appointment - I didn't, it was just pure fluke 😂 I don't think I have much belief in the acupuncture but the fact she wants to review my BBT graphs this week and monitor me through email is great so will see how I go! I'm back in the hope phase for this month now 😂 if it's another unsuccessful month I will begin the process of getting a consultation with Fertility Associates for those initial tests to put my mind at ease!

I'm on CD15 and got my positive OPK on clear blue digital this morning. BD'd last night and today, so hoping cycle 11 is a good one, although I won't be holding out for it! Will see if the OH can face 3 days in a row tomorrow 😂 But surely the 2 days before ovulation is a good enough chance?

I've bought some of the cheap one step OPKs and downloaded the premom app - only used one OPK so far but I'm loving the app and uploading photos. Think I'll defo use this next cycle!

Hi @Lebe14! I reckon the 2 days before ovulation is great - I saw a chart recently that suggested they're better fertile days than actual O day anyway, so it may not matter if you don't dtd again immediately. Maybe try every other day for a bit, just in case it takes you a while to actually ovulate after your lh surge?

I'm on CD11 and haven't been using opks this cycle! 😯 I think I know my body a bit better now, and I'm feeling more relaxed this way. Hopefully DH will be too. I usually get my peak LH around days 14-16. Hoping to dtd every other day this week and early next week, but it's sooooo hot!! 🥵

Has anyone got experience of BBT tracking? I started this cycle and my temperature is all over the place! To the point I'm worried something is wrong as it looks nothing like it's meant to. Thoughts?

@taytay2020 ooo only a few days behind me in your cycle! It is sooo hot at the moment, Bd'ing is hard work 🤣😂 That's good to take a month off OPKs every now and again. I've done the same. Just nice to have a break!

Strangely this cycle I didn't feel any ovulation pains, when normally I do... I did get my peak in the morning, when usually I get it in the afternoon / evening, so hoping ovulation may have just happened overnight and that I have actually ovulated this cycle x

@BritInNZ I'm afraid I can't help with this! I tried BBT but as I don't wake up at the same time each morning it just isn't accurate for me! Are you CD15 today? X

5dpo today - I told myself I would just be chill and see how it goes but I already want to do a test even though I know it’s too soon. The tww impatience is real

Hi, please can I join? DH and I are on cycle #1 of TTC #1, CD28 for me today and got some spotting so I think AF is on her way. Sounds silly but I am strangely upset! (Hope this doesn't sound insensitive as I realise there are people here who have been trying for much longer!)
Would be nice to have some people who are in the same boat to chat to.

@broodyas hiiii 👋🏻 we are in the same position of cycle #1 - I’ve read on a few threads that TTC makes even the most rational of people a bit crazy haha. Currently 5dpo ☺️
