TTC 4th baby at 39

Hi girls,

I am so frustrated. I’ve been trying to conceive my fourth since feb. All 28-35 day cycles and no joy: this last cycle has been 45 days so far with me ovulating on cd32. Pregnancy test is negative today 😭 the doctor is not interested but has said he will test to see if I’m peri menopausal. I conceived first month with my other three. This is a new partner but he has a child so I don’t get what the problem is. Sorry I just needed to rant to someone who may understand x

I’d say we’ve been trying properly the past 4 or 5 months. I’ve not been temping but I have got the clear blue ovulating predictor & some cheap ones off eBay but I’ve not yet had a smiley face which is worrying :(

I have been pouncing on the husband to dtd though so no worrys in that department 🤣

Are you temping? I may have to give this a go xx

@jellybean55 yes, temping and using the premom app with internet cheapie sticks. I find it really useful, I've attached this months chart for you to look at. I do an lh test in the mornings a couple of days before I'm due the surge, then twice a day or more if the levels start to creep up. I buy lots of 50 strips so that I'm not afraid to use a few, my surge is sudden and I wouldn't want to miss it. Temps confirm ovulation for me also x

Also attached a screen shot of this months sticks. As you can see, the surge could easily be missed x

@Sunnytimes21 I’m so sorry about the job. Not meant to be i don't think and gives you lots more time to focus on the baby making and planning. You’re not far away from being able to test! Come and join me!

@jellybean55 so sorry to hear about your miscarriages. It took me 3 cycles of intense planning, testing, vitamin taking and dtd (sex maniac level) to conceive my third baby. The previous 2 cycles were more like que sera sera. So that was 5 cycles in total. I think the cheap opk are much better than the clear blue predictor. I used one and it didnt work properly. I never got a smiley gave either. Whereas with the cheap ones, you can use loads and not feel bad about it. I remember testing several times a day to catch my surge. I'm sure I would have missed it if I solely used the clear blue ones. As to when to dtd and start testing for ovulation, I used the sperm meet egg plan. Have you heard of it? Also,
Are you taking any vitamins, apart from the prenatals?

So I tested again this morning and got a definite bfn. I decided I'll go get my second jab on Saturday no matter what. I really dont think I'm pregnant anyway. I wish my AF would just show up now.
I've been stressing out about sleeping arrangements if we welcome a new baby. We've got a 4 bedroom, so two of our kids will have to share, as I'm not the type to keep a newborn in my room for long. I feel guilty making the kids share a room. They still little so wouldn't mind now, but what about when they are teenagers? Ahhh so hard to decide. My heart says yes, my brain isn't sure.

I’ve just done a cheap intercept opk & got a dark line, so I did the clear blue one & got a smiley face!!! 😱 So do I need to pounce on my husband when he’s home from work? We dtd yesterday morning too?

@Monicatatie Hello 😊 I have heard of the sperm meet egg plan, you’ve just reminded me about it. So much useful advice on here thank you. I am taking folic acid & evening primrose oil, do you recommend anything else? I got a smiley face just now on my opk so planning to jump the hubby when he’s home 😂
I’m sorry you got a bfn, it’s just torture isn’t it? You just want the period to arrive & put you out of your misery.

I see what you mean about worrying about rooms for baby etc, but is there ever a right time for a baby? I keep having worries about how we will afford it, work & childcare etc but I’m just going to try & worry about that when I need to 🙈 xx

@Monicatatie the kids will cope with sharing a bedroom, you may just need to sort a few more arguments 😅.

@jellybean55 you should take your temp today and every morning and log on premom. Then if it rises after ovulation, it will confirm ovulation. Bit late for this cycle but may catch a rise. I take vit d3 4000IU, ubiquinol 200mg, omega 3, folic acid, cod liver oil and evening primrose 1000mg (on cd 1 to 14) x

@jellybean55 I dtd the day before my positive opk this cycle and again 8 hours after I got it. And it worked for me x

My husband was in the navy when I got pregnant with our son & I had to keep it secret until he was home, was only 2 weeks but felt like forever 😂

@jellybean55 I’m dizzy a lot and boobs are so sore. I’m hoping it doesn’t mean morning sickness will be really bad. I had it at 6 weeks with all three of mine. Did you have it? I still find it hard to believe I’m pregnant. I caved and told my partner via video call as coukdnt keep it in 😂

@Monicatatie I have a big three bed and my boys share. They love it and are 8 and 11. However I have no idea where I will put this baby and the boys won’t want to share forever 😱😱 x

@Hopetobeamumof4 Awwh how was the video call? Yeah I got morning sickness, I used to get it quite bad in the evenings. I remember my last pregnancy the only symptom I had was sore boobs. It’s so annoying that period symptoms are so similar to pregnancy ones. I find myself thinking I might be pregnant every month because of the period symptoms, always end up disappointed. I can’t help myself 🙈 xx

This was the first month of us trying that I had no symptoms. Nothing at all! I just had a feeling I was pregnant but no physical symptoms x

@Hopetobeamumof4 all good thank you. Very brief discussion...she asked what the issue was, I said we were told to call after 6 months of trying because we're old, she said I needed to book day 3 and 19 bloods. She said she'd leave a sample pot for dp at reception and for him to follow the instructions carefully and drop at the local hospital. That's it. Hoping it won't come to that though and I'll get my bfp at the weekend x

@Hopetobeamumof4 didnt you have sore boobs this month? I usually have sore boob after ovulation, but I havent since my last pregnancy so zero symptoms as well.
How did the call go??

@Sunnytimes21 🤞 you will get your bfp this month! I also had blood tests with my third (I was panicking and told a little white lie to my gp to get the tests done) and my husband went for his semen analysis THE DAY I got my BFP 🤣🤣 I felt so bad for putting him through it for nothing lol that's why lying is bad
@jellybean55 where are you at in your cycle? Are you in the TWW?
I'm still waiting for AF, I have a feeling it's going to be annoyingly late just to spite me lol

@Sunnytimes21 That’s funny you got your BFP the day your hubby got his semen analysis. My hubby & I were trying for over a year with our son & he had his semen analysed & I had to go on a waiting list to see the fertility specialist at the local hospital. Day of my appointment I got my BFP! I couldn’t believe it, I had to test 4 times to be sure! 😱

I’m day 14 of my cycle, so I guess I am in the 2WW. My period will be due between the 28th & 30th July.

I made sure I DTD today when hubby was home from work 🙈

I dont have any symptoms apart from being tired and hungry but that's how feel most days anyway lol

Will have to dtd tonight as hubby was up early for work this morning. Are all you ladies in the UK? Was my sons first day back in school today as he’s had to isolate for a week as his teacher had COVID 😭 Xx

So my period is now late... I tested again this morning, not with first wee, but it's still negative. So annoying! I just want af to come now, I have my jab appointment on Saturday and this is messing with my head

@Monicatatie Yes, he breaks up for Summer next Wednesday, just praying that he doesn’t have to isolate again & miss his last days.
