TTC 4th baby at 39

Hi girls,

I am so frustrated. I’ve been trying to conceive my fourth since feb. All 28-35 day cycles and no joy: this last cycle has been 45 days so far with me ovulating on cd32. Pregnancy test is negative today 😭 the doctor is not interested but has said he will test to see if I’m peri menopausal. I conceived first month with my other three. This is a new partner but he has a child so I don’t get what the problem is. Sorry I just needed to rant to someone who may understand x

🙈😂😂 That’ll be me in a few days, I’ll be obsessing over every little thing. Just hope I’ve done enough to be in with a chance this month. I’d DTD the past 4 days but can’t tonight as husband is working away 😭

@Monicatatie any sign of period yet? Take it your test was negative?

Do you ladies ever have a drink in the 2WW? I’ve got a family party on Saturday & I think I’m just going to pass on the wine which is not like me at all, they will think I’m pregnant 🙈🤣🤣 I just don’t want to risk anything xx

Still no sign of my period @jellybean55 and yep negative test last night. Didn't test this morning. I'm thinking of buying an early response test to use on Saturday morning before my covid jab.

I got my smiley face on Tuesday so I think I must be just 1dpo?? I’m not sure. I’d like to say I’ll test the day my period is due but I know I’ll cave & test way before, I’ve got loads of internet cheapie tests Xx Period is due on the 28th July, I’m away camping in Cornwall too that week, I’ll have to pack a test with me 😂 xx

I hope the tww wont be too torturous for you. I feel like I've been on it for 100 years now. I really dont think I'm pregnant because I'm pretty sure I would have tested positive by now. I might take a sneaky test tomorrow, another internet cheapie lol, and make sure I use morning wee this time 🤦‍♀️
How did women cope in the past??

I finally got my AF this morning! I feel relieved because I can have my jab tomorrow without going through the what ifs in my head. But I am a but disappointed and realise now I really do want a 4th child. So we will be officially ttc when my af is over, eeeeek!
How is everyone doing? How are you feeling @Hopetobeamumof4? Is your partner back from his trip?

@Monicatatie I’m glad it came for you so you can get the jab sorted and also so pleased for you that it’s made your mind up that you want a fourth! Now hurry up and get jabbed and join me! 😂 I feel absolutely horrific, I have tbe cold from hell and feeling awful. I can’t even take anything other than paracetamol 😓.

@Monicatatie Awwh sorry period showed up but like you say it’s a relief when you have your jab tomorrow, get trying properly after this 👍 I remember when my period was a week late a few months ago & when it showed up I was so gutted & so was my husband, made us realise that we definitely want another.

Thanks for that sperm meets egg plan, I’m gonna mark days in my calendar for next month 😂 Can’t believe how hot it is today, praying the weather will be nice for when we go camping next weekend.

Hi all, sorry, it's been a hectic few days! I'm testing every morning lol, 7dpo but neg obs this am.

In a strange turn of events, just now I can a call and got offered a different role with the same company I interviewed with. Same salary as I went for. I'm going to have a chat with them on Monday about it, should know if I'm pregnant by then too and that will influencewhether I take it or not. So much going on! @Monicatatie I'm pleased to hear that things have got simpler for you . @Hopetobeamumof4, dp home today! I'm excited for you! X

Symptoms wise, I had some strange twinges down there yesterday on and off. I usually have sore boobs by 7 dpo and they were a couple of days ago and today, nothing. My temp has gone up a notch today. I have a funny feeling about this month x

@jellybean55 I'm thinking of printing a calendar and marking the days on it as well 😊 it's also been a lovely day over here, finally after crappy rainy weeks, we went to the pub after school and now I'm on the prosecco lol I thought I might as well seeing af is here haha that's the good side of it

I'm feeling a little less hopeful because my boobs are killing as per pre AF. But still, only 9dpo so plenty of time for things to change x

I'm 37 ttc, both myself and my partner have kids from previous relationships and this is cycle 5ish for us. ( I say 5 ish because we weren't really 'trying' the first few months we just didn't prevent it).
I got my period today 3 days early and I want to cry. My bloods have all come back okay- ish, just low progesterone but that could be from being on and off contraception over the years.
I said before I met my DP that I was done, he said before he met me he was done, but together a child is something we both want.
Now we have discussed it and decided I get so upset every month that I am not.
Last children I had were first month trying and second month trying.

Hello @80sPadme! Course you can join! Welcome! It’s the worst seeing that negative test or period every month. When you get to later 30’s we have the fear it won’t happen. It’s really hard, we all know exactly how you feel. I tried to look at it like the reason it wasn’t happening for me was because things just weren’t perfect and that when the perfect egg came along it would happen. And i rationalised that id rather have a negative test each month than a miscarriage or really poorly baby. But it is so hard. We’re all here for each other x
