Hi girls,

I am so frustrated. I’ve been trying to conceive my fourth since feb. All 28-35 day cycles and no joy: this last cycle has been 45 days so far with me ovulating on cd32. Pregnancy test is negative today 😭 the doctor is not interested but has said he will test to see if I’m peri menopausal. I conceived first month with my other three. This is a new partner but he has a child so I don’t get what the problem is. Sorry I just needed to rant to someone who may understand x

@Hopetobeamumof4 yes I’d deffo say that was a positive 🎉🎉❤️

Hopetobeamumof4 · 16/09/2021 16:14

My poor partner is going to be busy the next few days 😂 x

@Hopetobeamumof4 yes that's positive! The very best of luck Grin
I've tested twice today (i know im crazy lol), very negative ☹

Hopetobeamumof4 · 16/09/2021 16:45

@Sunnytimes21 I’m the same! You’re not out until af arrives. Do you have any symptoms of anything? X

Monicatatie · 16/09/2021 17:07

@jellybean55 we havent dtd since lady ovulation 🤣 and I'm planning on waiting for a positive opk to do it again, my poor husband!

@Hopetobeamumof4 yes definitely positive 🥳

@Sunnytimes21 sorry about your negative, maybe it's still too soon? When is your period due?

Monicatatie · 16/09/2021 17:08

I meant since last ovulation, not lady ovulation

Sunnytimes21 · 16/09/2021 18:11

@Hopetobeamumof4 sore boobs, less sore than usual and twinges but they're the same as every month pretty much.

@Monicatatie I'm 10dpo but I've poas and held it up to every light variation possible. Nothing, not a stich, nadda. It's not over yet but it does feel like it's not going to happen. I keep moodily thinking 'Right, fine! I'll drink all the alcohol, get my life back, go on all the holidays etc etc' but then feel sad. Defense mechanism I think. God this sucks doesn't it. But we should all be grateful for the little ones we have had I guess

Hopetobeamumof4 · 16/09/2021 18:37

@Sunnytimes21 it’s so hard it’s unreal. It’s all the worry with it. What if it happens and it goes wrong? What if it doesn’t happen? What if that’s it now? It goes on and on x

Hopetobeamumof4 · 16/09/2021 18:38

P.s 10dpo may still be too early! You may have only just implanted today! Don’t give up hope x

OP posts:
Monicatatie · 16/09/2021 19:19

@Sunnytimes21 I know what you mean, I also lose hope when getting negatives from10 dpo but my cycle is so short that my period usually starts at that point anyway. Please don't lose hope. Every cycle that is unsuccessful, I just tell myself it wasnt a good egg and eventually a good one will come and give me a perfect and healthy baby.

TMI alert! I just got a LOT of ewcm and this time I know it's not sperm because we havent dtd in ages. I need to use an opk to see what's going on. I thought I would ovulate next tuesday and start the opks at the weekend so it was very unexpected. My husband is all excited now 🤣🤣🤣

msanne · 17/09/2021 10:15

Hey ladies,

Sorry I have been remiss recently.

@Hopetobeamumof4 - I think that looks like a positive! Congrats! Are you going to go for it straight away?

@jellybean55 - my Son also turns 7 but in 3 weeks - I totally get the "how the hell do they grow up so fast"! I look at him sometimes and have to do a double take as he is so tall now! I mean he can open our front door!! Gasp!

Please try to keep a positive mindset - 42 is not too old - i've read about plenty of people who have been successful. I have come to think of it as "it only matters what is right for your family". As in, for us, the whole point of having a 4th is so that the kids are close together in age (my elder two only have 14 months between them, and we would like our potential 4th to have 16 months or 18 months at a max). This is important for us, as logistically they will only be one school year apart, so it makes that much easier, and it doubles up that they have a built in playmate with their sibling. Now if that doesn't bother you and you are a healthy fit woman - 42 is not old! I think society tells us we are old - but I still feel and think young! I mean, I have bad days of exhaustion and mood swings, but overall, I am a happy fit mum (albeit one who struggles to run 2k sometimes haha - but I will get there)!

@Sunnytimes21 you should totally book a holiday for next year. There is no point going anywhere this year with all the plethora of covid tests and restrictions - but next year, WE ARE going somewhere! hahaha - just picturing myself in a bikini at 7 months pregnant - haha. But in all seriousness, i've always booked holidays a year in advance, this ensures we get the best deals and it also gives something to look forward to. I love BA holidays as you only have to pay the deposit and then can save towards the final amount and pay 30 days before you travel :)

@Monicatatie - funny you should say about alcohol drinking. My GP did a blood test on me as I've had some upper abdo pain and wants me to repeat the test in 3 weeks lol. Apparently, my liver enzyme count is too high and he asked me how many units of alcohol i drink every week! OMG! I was mortified! I don't think I drink excessively (ok, I drank one bottle of wine over 5 days by myself) and I am BF but seriously?! I think everything in moderation is fine - if you want a drink - then drink it - just don't get wasted! The book is really good, a bit full on, but very informative. I also have the "impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant" which is much easier to read and debunks a lot of myths put out there by the media (like age for example). I read the latter last summer whilst I was pregnant with our DC3.

This weekend we are going to up the ante and go for it! I think we need to start dtd for at least the next 7 days lol. Hopefully we are up to it, but we are going to have a full house next week as my in laws, sister in law and cousin are all coming over to stay for DC3's baptism which is next Saturday! Got so much planning to do still!

Have a lovely weekend ladies xoxo

jellybean55 · 19/09/2021 12:45

Hi lady’s how are we all?

@msanne Thanks for your words. I don’t feel old at all but it seems old for pregnancy. I know people older are having babies, I guess I just worry what others may think. Need to stop obsessing as it’s becoming unhealthy. I get why you want more with the age gap been close.
We fell pregnant when my son was 3 & unfortunately miscarried & since then we’ve have more miscarriages & now all of a sudden our little boy is 7 & the age gap is increasing 😭 However, we still want to try so I guess I’ll keep trying.

Had a bit of a party yesterday for my son, only had 3 friends round. F**K me!! I’ll never be doing that again, they were so bloody naughty 🙈 I poured a glass of wine even before they left 😂😂

Monicatatie · 20/09/2021 21:40

How's everyone doing? Who's in the TWW?
Cd16 here and still no positive opk 😫 not great, considering my cycle are only 26 days. My tww will be more like a one week wait

jellybean55 · 20/09/2021 21:50

@Monicatatie Hi lovely, I guess I’m in the 2 week wait but it’s more like the 2 week wait for my period seeing as I hardly had any sex when it mattered! 😡

Is it possible you ovulated earlier & missed it? It’s so depressing isn’t it? X

Monicatatie · 20/09/2021 22:21

@jellybean55 I've been testing daily since seeing ewcm last week, the second line is getting darker but still not as dark as test line so I think I'm getting close but cant imagine anything successful with such a short luteal phase.
Ah that's a shame you couldn't dtd as much as you wanted, but you never know! Must be hard with your hubby working away. When are you due?

Sunnytimes21 · 20/09/2021 22:21

Hi all, good weekend had here. AF showed this am as predicted. Was sad but onto another month we go!

jellybean55 · 20/09/2021 22:49

@Monicatatie Oh no, that’s annoying 😡 When is your period due then? My period is due in 8 days. Yes it’s difficult when he’s working away & the fact he was struck down with shitty man flu didn’t help. I’m really gonna have to make a proper effort next month.

@Sunnytimes21 Sorry AF showed for you. I like your positive spirit though, I need some of that xx

Monicatatie · 20/09/2021 23:59

@jellybean55 I'm due friday next week 🙈 at least the wait wont be long

Sorry about your af showing @Sunnytimes21 I'll be there with you next month

Hopetobeamumof4 · 21/09/2021 13:21

I’m on 3dpo as far as I can tell anyway. I usually have sore nipples now (sorry tmi) but nothing at all which is weird. I think that may mean my progesterone isn’t high? I had sore nipples the month I got pregnant but also had them the other three months I didn’t so god knows if it’s important or not. I can test on Monday, so far away 😓 x

OP posts:
Monicatatie · 21/09/2021 14:31

@Hopetobeamumof4 I used to have a sore boob after ovulation, just the one lol, but havent felt anything since giving birth last year. Does it also mean my progesterone is low? Could explain my super short luteal phase 😫 I did an opk again this morning, still negative and in fact the line was even lighter than yesterday. I dont think this cycle will be it for me 😔
I've got my fingers crossed for you for monday 🤞🤞🤞🤞

YukoandHiro · 21/09/2021 14:34

Are you following the sperm meets egg plan? Only thing that ever worked for me and I was over 35 or over with both pregnancies. Worked within 3 months both times once I followed it to the letter

Hopetobeamumof4 · 21/09/2021 15:28

@Monicatatie I really have no idea, I’m just guessing so don’t get stressed by what I say as god only knows 😂 it’s just not usual for me but like I say, I got pregnant with that as a symptom after ovulation but I also didn’t. Fed up with this ttc lark, it consumes me and feel a bit down about it today x

OP posts:
Hopetobeamumof4 · 21/09/2021 15:28

@Monicatatie I’m ordering those 20 clearblue ovulation sticks next month if not successful this one x

OP posts:
Hopetobeamumof4 · 21/09/2021 15:29

@jellybean55 keeping my fingers crossed for you. You never know hey x

OP posts:
msanne · 21/09/2021 17:10

Hey ladies,

I've got my fingers crossed for all of you ladies - it is so stressful isn't it.

@Hopetobeamumof4 - I do recommend the CB digital OPK - I used it last year and it worked the first month! Not so this time around though as I obviously didn't conceive last month (although we didn't really try properly). We shall wait and see this month - however, I have been flashing "high fertility" for the last 3 days so don't know when my "peak" day will be! My cycle is all messed up I think. We shall keep dtd and hope we catch a baby!

Baby dust to you all xoxo
