TTC 4th baby at 39

Hi girls,

I am so frustrated. I’ve been trying to conceive my fourth since feb. All 28-35 day cycles and no joy: this last cycle has been 45 days so far with me ovulating on cd32. Pregnancy test is negative today 😭 the doctor is not interested but has said he will test to see if I’m peri menopausal. I conceived first month with my other three. This is a new partner but he has a child so I don’t get what the problem is. Sorry I just needed to rant to someone who may understand x

@Monicatatie yes I am which I’m very surprised about! Light headed and sore boobs and feel generally off. I don’t usually feel anything much until 6 weeks 😬 how are you getting on? X

@Hopetobeamumof4 I'm stressing out, I'm just waiting for AF now because I want to go get my vaccine (I'm going abroad soon so need to be double vaccinated) so I'm really hoping I'm not pregnant. I wish we hadn't had unprotected sex now. Have you had both your doses?

@Monicatatie I’ve had my first but not second. Are you worried it could affect the baby if you got pregnant? X

@Hopetobeamumof4 i went to a walk in vaccine bus last weekend, and they didnt want to give me the jab when i said there was a possibly that I could be pregnant. I really dont know what to think

@Monicatatie my interview went well thanks, but they've left me hanging which is annoying. Will find out on Monday I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️. Re the vaccine, I told the nurse that I was in my tww and she send me down the pfizer queue and said there's been no issues with it for pregnancy. I was very dubious about whether to go at all, I held back for months, but it's done now and is no longer playing on my mind. Got my second booked for August and will just get it done. It's does feel a bit dicey though x

It is hard, especially when they're giving different advice. But from I've read, it is mostly ok. Maybe the person who turned me away wasnt trained properly. I really dont know. I'm going to a different place next weekend, I'll ask again what they think. Hopefully I wont be in the tww anymore by then. I ordered some internet cheapies which should arrive on monday, cant believe I'm down this road again lol

I did an internet cheapie today. (I know I know I should not) and it was still not as dark as the control line yet the first response ones are blazing now and a clear blue digital said 1-2 weeks. So unless you wait for 10-15 mins I don’t know if they are that good for early on.

I think all the vaccines are scary when you’re pregnant. I remember having the swine flu one when I was having my middle son. It was scary then. I don’t know what I’ll do in august x

@Hopetobeamumof4 that is great news about the dark lines, i hope you're feeling reassured now. How many dpos were you when you got your first bfp?
Also, do you guys drink during the tww ? @Sunnytimes21

@Monicatatie yep, I do lol. Although I have cut down, no more gin. Still have a bottle of wine of a Friday. I did think I'd stop all together but I am weak x

@Monicatatie I was 10dpo when I got a proper one. Thought I saw a line on the internet test the day before but very very faint. I have drank through every tww. Last weekend I went on a boozy girls weekend 😬 oops. Feel really bad now but the baby doesn’t have a placenta until a certain week so I am not too worried. Not drinking now though obviously but I do miss it x

That's reassuring, I'm also weak so I'm glad it's not just me lol
@Sunnytimes21 I forgot to say, glad your interview went well and 🤞 they get back to you quickly with positive news. There's a job opportunity that caught my eye but it's temporary, just for a year due to funding, so it starts in September and ends next September. I wonder how it would look if I had a baby half way through. On the other hand, it's not guaranteed I will have another baby so I dont want to out my life on hold either

Bfn this morning. I'm so relieved but also disappointed. Af is due tomorrow. I didnt test with morning wee, because the postman hadn't been yet lol. I'll test tomorrow again, bfn is what I wanted so why am I disappointed??

Well ladies, I didn't get the job, someone with direct experience of the role did. They want me to apply again if another post comes up. C'est la vie. I'm okay in my current position, am going to concentrate my efforts on baby making instead. 3 dpo! X

When are you planning on testing?
I'm going to order some opks for my next cycle. I hope AF wont be late but I havent had that many cycles since stopping bf so my body will probably play tricks on me 🙃🤯

@Monicatatie I ordered 50 one step a while ago so have plenty. I always test from 6 dpo even though I know it won't show lol. My temps are good, so definitely ovulated. I so hope this is my month and can join @Hopetobeamumof4 with the pregnancy niggles and giggles

Hi Ladies, would you mind if I joined in this thread? Could really do with someone to talk to who actually understands all this trying for a baby at a more ‘mature’ age business 😂

Hubby & I are trying for another baby, I’m 41 & he’s 40. We already have a son who is 6 & have unfortunately had 2 miscarriages in the past 3 years. At first we were not trying not preventing but now it’s got to the stage where it’s all I’m thinking about. I’m scared it won’t happen because of my age :(

Normally my periods are regular every 31 days but the past 3 months they have been a bit off track. One was a week late which was awful as I really thought I was pregnant then the next 2 were shorter at 29 days, so I’ve no bloody idea when I’m meant to be ovulating.

I’m currently on cycle day 12 & have blood tests next week to check if I’m ovulating. Husband is booked in for semen analysis too.

Can I just add that my cycles have been irregular since my second COVID jab. Has anyone else found this? I’m hoping that’s the reason & not peri menopause 😞

@jellybean55 Hi! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages ☹. Re the covid jab, I've just had the one so far, due my second in August, but have heard they can delay things. The first didn't mess with my cycle thank goodness.

Dp and I have a doctor's telephone appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping that we'll get tests after that, although we've only had 4 cycles so far where we dtd at the right time. Temping, opking and dtd properly now (and exhausted 🤣). Are you temping etc? How long have you been 'properly' trying? X
