TTC 4th baby at 39

Hi girls,

I am so frustrated. I’ve been trying to conceive my fourth since feb. All 28-35 day cycles and no joy: this last cycle has been 45 days so far with me ovulating on cd32. Pregnancy test is negative today 😭 the doctor is not interested but has said he will test to see if I’m peri menopausal. I conceived first month with my other three. This is a new partner but he has a child so I don’t get what the problem is. Sorry I just needed to rant to someone who may understand x

@Monicatatie it takes me all day just to do two loads so Christ knows how she does with 24 of them. I literally don’t get the logistics of it all 😂x

But the worst part for me is folding it and putting it away. I don't even iron things anymore. 22 is madness, I dont think she'll ever stop

I took an opk this morning ans only had one line. I didnt dump the test and now its showing two dark lines, so several hours later. It's not valid, right?

Does anyone know how long a test is valid for? Cause on mine, the test line always gets much darker with time but well over 10 minutes

I did another one but the test line was fainter, it got darker after the 10 minutes. I wanted to do another again in the afternoon but I didnt have time. And now I've drank too much water so pretty useless. We dtd yesterday and should probably do it tonight too but he might be too tired. Sorry Tmi alert, I'm trying to go by cm but because we are dtd quite regularly at the moment, I cant tell if what I'm seeing is cm or sperm

Hi everyone, I’ve just got back from camping in Wales. Had absolutely no Wi-fi or data left on my phone which was a nightmare but also very nice at the same time 😂

Yes I can’t wait for my boy to be back at school, he’s getting bored at home now. Got his uniform yesterday, bloody hell it’s so expensive! Still need to get shoes & pe kit too. Last minute here 🙈

No symptoms here for me, but period not due for another week. Got this festival to go to at weekend & trying to find something to wear is a nightmare , I just look OLD! 🤣🤣 I actually bought a bumbag!! Needless to say it’s going back 🙈🤣

Wow you're so lucky, have great fun the festival! Camping must have been so nice too. Are you going to test before going to the festival? I realised I booked a very boozy lunch date with a friend just when I'm due, hopefully I'll know either way before I meet her.
I havent even started buying any of the uniform stuff, I'm soooooo bad. I should probably buy it this week, as they go back next week eeeeek!
So this morning I tested with fmu and I definitely got a strong positive. I'm already on cd16, I'm ovulating so late but i knew that already. We dtd last night, so we'll have to do it tonight and tomorrow again, and maybe the day after that. Talk about a sex marathon 🤣

@Monicatatie Camping was so good, a much nicer site than when we went to Cornwall & much closer too. Think we’re going to book again for the first weekend in October.

I bought 2 cheapie tests from Asda so will test on Saturday morning. I wouldn’t normally test that early but needs must. This is going to be a really boozy day too, 12 hours 🙈 I’m too old for this 😂 People will definitely know I’m pregnant if I don’t drink as yes I’m that person who loves to have a piss up!…so I’ll have to pretend. I highly doubt I will be though. X

@jellybean55 I so hope you are, it would be amazing. So glad you enjoyed camping. Made me laugh about the bumbag. I’m meant to be having a night on the town on Friday night but not sure I can face it. It’s been so long and I’m much fatter 😂 x

@Monicatatie I think the fertile cm hangs around longer than sperm but if you’re doing it loads it’s hard to tell isn’t it? I am going to wave a wand over us all and all of us on our next opportunity will be pregnant 💫 there we go it is done 😂 x

Sorry that I've been MIA - it's been a funny old week. I've finally agreed a return to work date of November so am feeling a bit better now - 2 more months before returning to the daily grind (hopefully preggers again)!

@Hopetobeamumof4 - lovely to see your fertility bracelet - it is beautiful and what a thoughtful keepsake.

@Monicatatie - we decided to go for it and see if anything happens over the next couple of months (if not, we figure it is not meant to be). I've been testing using the Clearblue OPK - I got low fertility last Friday, followed by high fertility on Saturday and Sunday, followed by my Peak fertility yesterday. We managed to dtd on Saturday and Sunday and Yesterday too - I don't think I have the energy to dtd again tonight but we shall see. It is weird that dtd for making a baby takes the fun out of it sometimes. It also doesn't help that my 6 year old is currently waking up mulitple times during hte night and just stands in the dark in our bedroom doorway - hahaha! My stomach is feeling funny though - like i've done lots of sit ups - i'm certain it is because I must be ovulating though...not symptom spotting for the next two weeks is going to be tough!

All of you ladies are so good with uniforms - I am just ironing last terms kit! Have you all got anything exciting planned for the last week of summer hols or over bank holiday?

Great to have you on board @msanne looks like we'll be more or less in the tww together 😊 I felt cramps today and my flo app saying I ovulated today, although I got my positive opk today. Who knows!
Nothing too exciting planned for the rest of the week, just chilling out in the sunshine. What about you?

@monicatatie, yes sounds like we will be in the tww together...keeping everything crossed and feeling quite anxious about not only the tww but the following 8 weeks until the scan! We must keep each other going!
As for the rest of the hols; we are planning on hopefully doing a beach day trip before the weekend, if the weather holds....other than that, I will be chilling in my garden too! Really feel cheated out of a summer this year!

So I tested today as I was out shopping & felt really sick, it was obviously negative. I’m not due on my period till the 31st, I’ve been having bad cramps today too 😞 Bet you my period arrives at this bloody festival 🙈 xx

@jellybean55 I am in the tww now, I think I'm 1 or 2 dpo. But I had a crisis of confidence last night and started doubting once again if going for another baby is really wise. I'm still going back and forth in my head, it's so annoying. I was disappointed last month when we were unsuccessful. I would love another one but cant help feeling guilty for making the kids share rooms. We've already got the big car, so it's really just about the rooms. And the space to put all their clothes and toys. Is it silly to be so materialistic? I'm a bit worried about work too, as we have no family to help and will struggle with childcare costs. It means not being able to work for another 2 or 3 years. So we said we would stop ttc if unsuccessful this month. Not sure I will be able to fully accept it and be at peace with the decision

@Monicatatie No I don’t think it’s silly having those thoughts at all. I’ve had discussions with my husband at how we’d struggle financially but like you say, I would struggle with coming to that final decision, especially when time isn’t on my side. Again like you said, the disappointment when you get a negative is kind of what’s making me realise I really want this. I’ll worry about the other bits if it happens 🙈😂 xx

@Monicatatie - not silly at all! I am also in my 2ww now and hubbie and I were saying last night as much as we want this last baby, are we REALLY sure?! Similar to you, we also have the car but the thought of toys, clothes and all the "admin" is already stressing me out! I wish we could wait a few years and then go for it - but like @jellybean55 says - time is not on our side.

I reckon we will know once and for all in 2 weeks time whether it is to be or not - so keep your options open, for what will be, will be!

@jellybean55- how are you feeling? Are you doing another pregnancy test?

@Hopetobeamumof4 - have you decided whether you are going out tonight? If you do - enjoy yourself!

@msanne yeah I agree, it’s ok to have doubts. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Think I’m the oldest on here 🙈 I feel ok today, I get bad anxiety & think I may of been feeling sick because of this festival I’m at tomorrow. Ridiculous isn’t it? 😂 I’ll test in the morning just to be double sure & then get drunk 🤣

@jellybean55 - I am 38 - I will be 39 in December. I don't feel old (even though I might look it with my brood - they are driving me NUTS today)!

Good luck testing tomorrow morning - and I say getting drunk if it is a negative is perfectly acceptable too - go for it! I have decided I am going to have a glass of wine tonight - life is stressful enough at the moment and I am living for the little things hahaha :)

Hi everyone, my test on Saturday was negative so needless to say I over indulged this weekend. 🙈 festival was AMAZING! Danced like no tomorrow for 12 hours, not bad for an old bird 😂

@Monicatatie - I meant to say, going to the loo after dtd doesn't necessarily mean you have thwarted your chances...i've heard that the swimmers that are meant to get through do so when the deed is actually done...any "residual" (hahaha - sorry tmi) swimmers are there for the scenary - hahaha!

@Hopetobeamumof4 - how are you? Did you end up getting out at all over the weekend?

As for me - I feel so yuck atm - can't help but symptom spot; but i've had migraines, bloating, nausea and dull cramping for days now. I only ovuklated 7 days ago though so too early to test. I am sitting here wondering why the hell I am doing this to myself again as I have a beautiful 6 month old and I feel guilty already that I will be exhausted if I am indeed pregnant. My head is very confused at the moment. I am stuck between wanting to be pregnant and not wanting to be pregnant - but am resigned to the fact that everything is done now and it is out of my hands.....I will try not ot test agian until at least Friday wen I should be 11dpo (that is when I got my first positive last time round).

1 more days of summer hols and then school begins! Hooray!
