TTC 4th baby at 39

Hi girls,

I am so frustrated. I’ve been trying to conceive my fourth since feb. All 28-35 day cycles and no joy: this last cycle has been 45 days so far with me ovulating on cd32. Pregnancy test is negative today 😭 the doctor is not interested but has said he will test to see if I’m peri menopausal. I conceived first month with my other three. This is a new partner but he has a child so I don’t get what the problem is. Sorry I just needed to rant to someone who may understand x

So so sorry @Hopetobeamumof4 - I hope the hospital team are being supportive and helpful. I've had a previous MC at 6 weeks and it's very emotionally hard however early it happens. Please do allow yourself the time you need to process what's happened. I hope the next steps are straightforward for you and a painless as is possible xxx

Thank you so much everyone. They have recommended the natural approach so that’s what I’m doing at the moment. If nothing happens then I will have a surgical procedure. Really want it to happen now so I can get on with recovering. It’s a nightmare and I want it to go away. Saw loads of couples coming out of hospital with their babies today when I went for another scan. It was so sad x

I’m thinking so negatively as well that maybe this will never happen for me now. 😓 x

@Hopetobeamumof4 Yeah it’s horrible seeing others with their babies or bumps when you’ve just had that sad news 😞 I went for the natural approach too, I was having cramps & light bleeding before my second scan anyway, it happened within that week then I had to go back for another scan to make sure. Please don’t lose hope & just be aware that a pregnancy test can stay positive for a while after which is upsetting as I thought I was pregnant again & I had to have bloods taken which showed the levels were going down not up 😞 xx

I can't know what you are going through but I was in this situation and I felt completely broken.
I opted for an ERPC, I felt the sooner I could make it 'over' the sooner I could both physically and emotionally heal.
I have been thinking of you this last few days. I hope you have a good support network around you.

How's everyone doing? Have you got your smiley face yet @jellybean55? How are you getting on with the smep. I might give it a go this month, the downside of it is I feel like we're dtd all the time when following the plan 🤪

@Monicatatie I didn’t get a smiley face as I’ve ran out of the tests but I did get a positive cheapie opk on Saturday. The plan went out the window as my hubby was working away but have managed to DTD Friday, Saturday & Sunday…need to do it tonight as he’s working away again tomorrow 🙈

It’s funny when you know you have your positive opk, I feel like I’m just using my husband for the sex 😂😂 don’t get me wrong, we do have sex other times of the month but I really push for it on ovulation week, not that he’s complaining 🙈🤣 xx

Thank you girls so much for thinking of me. I’m on hols in Scotland at the moment. Still no signs of miscarrying so I need to book an appointment for a procedure when I get home. It’s stressful but trying to have a nice time. I literally can’t wait for this to be over and back ttc again with you guys. Obviously not you @80sPadme. Hope you’re feeling ok x

@jellybean55 at what time of the day do you test with the opk, do you test several times a day? Hopefully the plan will work for you, you seem to have it under control!
I also feel like I'm using my husband for sex lol. He's happy the first few days, then acts all blasé. So annoying, considering he's usually pestering me 🤣

@Monicatatie haha yeah I’m normally the one getting pestered. So we didn’t manage to DTD on Monday as to be honest, I was tired & couldn’t be arsed 🙈 He was away last night too so we probably won’t be getting a BFP this month. I only do the opk once a day, are you meant to do it several? I’m so clueless. Xx

@Monicatatie I've been using opks for a few months and have learnt when to take a couple of tests a day. As soon as my results go over 0.3 in the am, I know that's my o day, and it shoots up within a few hours. If not o day then it's always below 0.3. You'll learn your pattern.

@jellybean55 I can totally empathise with the cla side of ttc, it can turn your sex life into a mission!

My first week at the new job is going well and we're back to ttc this month, I'm due on on Friday so have a 3 week grace period. OH sperm test has come back normal so it's all systems go!

Thank you for the tip @Sunnytimes21 how early in the cycle do you start testing? Excellent about the job, so glad your first week went well. Excellent news about the sperm results too, one less thing to worry about. Looks like the rocket is ready for take off lol good luck, got everything crossed for you 🤞
@jellybean55 I used to test several times a day but it would drive me mad, dont think it's the normal thing to do 🤪
🤞you've got it covered and get your bfp this month. I imagine it's quite tricky ttc when your husband works away. He must feel like a king though when he comes home lol 🤣

@Monicatatie I've uploaded some of my charts to give you an idea. You kind of get a feel for it. I buy the cheaper tests on amazon (50 of them), they are a bit awkward and can take a few attempts to register, but great for obsessive testers and have certainly helped me to more or less figure out ovulation and period dates to the day

@jellybean55 I’m still in Scotland and having the nicest time I can. Still no signs of miscarrying and i would have been 10 weeks tomorrow so it’s been 4 weeks since the baby stopped growing. I’m going to call today to book in for next week I think. It’s so bloody hard! I want to be out the other side of this now so I can try again. How are you getting on? How are you all? Thank you @Sunnytimes21 I'm quite envious of your charts, they look so neat and organized. I just took a opk and didnt even have a second line lol (I'm cd11) so I didnt bother uploading it to the app. Maybe I drank too much water.

Is anybody else looking forward to kids being back at school? I sound so mean but I'm tired of entertaining and feeding the kids all day and feel guilty of all the tv watching they've been doing 🙈

@Monicatatie I can’t wait for kids to be back!! 😂😂so done with spending loads and entertaining and stressing 😂 my appointment is tomorrow, just been in for bloods and a Covid test. I’m so worried it will hurt loads x

Had my procedure today. I was so scared and it wasn’t nice but I’m so relieved it’s over. Trying to look forward now and we want to start trying again as soon as possible x

@Sunnytimes21 yes indeed off we go again. I think they say to have a months break to have a proper period but they said it’s up to me so I’m just going for it again when I can x
