Pfizer jab and delayed period anyone?

Hello!
We’ve been on and off TTC since Xmas. I had my jab last Thursday, was due on period on Saturday. Had chat with 3 nurses and a Dr before I went ahead with my jab who all were happy for me to have it (so was I, I did a lot of research before going!).

So now I’m 4ish days late. Obviously I tested on Sunday (haha) and it was a BFN. Tested again on Monday BFN again. Now I’m scared to do another test 😫. Normally I’m pretty regular, with a 26-29 day cycle. So this is not normal for me being on day 31 of cycle. I got a BFP with DD at 30 days...

After loads of Googling last night I found some research that suggests the jab can either bring on your period or in rare cases delay it. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the delay? How long did it take to come back?

Xx

This is very interesting. I had AZ and immediately started a very light period, but I'm on pill and haven't had a period for 3 years. It's almost like symptoms that only affect women aren't considered to be as important.

PrivateParty · 18/06/2021 21:13

I had my first Pfizer jab last weekend and it seems to have made my period come much earlier than expected..

AllyCat31 · 18/06/2021 22:49

Week late on my period now. No sign of ovulation and multiple BFNs. Im giving up till after my 2nd dose which should be within the next month!

Hayesdays · 19/06/2021 21:09

@Sunfl0wer20 sorry to hear you’re the having a similar experience. I hope you find comfort knowing you’re not alone like I have. Apparently it’s a good sign that the jab is working though, so a silver lining there!
Fingers crossed your stable returns to normal soon.

Congratulations to all that have got their BFP despite being jabbed! It’s bringing me hope that I’ll return to normal soon.

Quick update from me, cycle day 16 for me and still waiting for the peek on my ovulation tests. It’s looking close so I’m guessing tomorrow or Monday 🤞 but that’s roughly normal for me…have been doing the deed a lot…just in case hahaha

Thanks to everyone who’ve shared their experiences. Hopefully this thread is full of keywords now that it will come up for anyone who was like me and googled ‘is it ok to have Pfizer when trying to conceive’ as nothing like this thread came up for me when I searched!
I would STILL have had the jab but I would have just liked the opportunity to prepare for any side effect like this ☺️

So glad I came across this thread...

I had my pfiezer jab on 11th May and was due to ovulate a few days after. I track temps and soon realised ovulation was delayed. Long story short, no ovulation, no period that cycle. I am now on cd 60 ish and have ovulated and in tww.

I will be trying to secure my second jab post ovulation next time..

So good to hear others have had a similar experience. Hopefully it won't delay our cycles too much. X

dudoubleddoubleda · 19/06/2021 21:29

I wish I'd seen this thread before having the jab this week. I have pcos, so already not regularly ovulating. I guess time will tell if it makes things worse. Sad

dudoubleddoubleda · 19/06/2021 21:30

I'm quite pissed off that it is not mentioned as a side effect. They've vaccinated millions of women by now so must be aware of it.

YorkshireSunshine · 19/06/2021 22:17

@Doglover30 slightly reassuring isn’t it! I had my first Pfizer on 13th May. Should have ovulated around 15th May but ended up being 6th June! Had my second jab on Thursday so hopefully will be back to normal soon.

Doglover30 · 19/06/2021 22:22

@YorkshireSunshine yes, a relief knowing it isn't just me.. i'd read some specuation about the jab and fertility online but much of it is dismissed.
My sister did get a bfp this week, the same week she had her jab. So hopefully the delays are just delays and nothing more.
Fingers crossed our cycles return to some normality.

Skysblue · 19/06/2021 22:51

I had Pfizer and was a week late with period that month

Hayesdays · 19/06/2021 23:16

Same for me @Skysblue how are you now?

OP posts:
Doglover30 · 20/06/2021 08:47

@Skysblue @Hayesdays Were you both tracking bbt? Did temps remain high or drop still before the delay?
I'll know not to get too excited if my period is late...

Hayesdays · 20/06/2021 12:36

@Doglover30 no I’ve not done temping, I’m a bit of an obsessive person so thought I’d stay clear of it! But will see how these next few cycles go, I might change my mind!

Has anyone had period come early? Mine is like clockwork and arrived a week early after the Pfizer jab. Had I have known this I would not get the jab to be honest as TTC and don't want any interruption

Namechangeme1 · 20/06/2021 15:07

They don't list as symptom because they know that a lot of women would have decided against it I think.

Yep.

Yes but they don't want to scare women that's why, which I think is wrong.

And is now making me question the whole thing.

It have me really bad anxiety because I thought I was pregnant and having a minter miscarriage.

I'm not having my second dose I dont think. And I'm certainly not if I do fall pregnant

Kphil1 · 21/06/2021 19:29

I had a period late by 10 days and then kept a high temperature and really sore boobs until my next period that was only 2 weeks later. My cycle seems completely ruined since my Pfizer jab and I’m devastated. I’ve been ttc for a year and was finding it hard already

Doglover30 · 21/06/2021 19:50

@Kphil1 So sorry to hear it messed with your cycle so much. Were you temping- is that how you know your temperature stayed high?

I am due on any day but am concerned my jab may delay it and give me false hope...

I hope your cycle regulates soon.

Kphil1 · 21/06/2021 19:58

Yes I recently started taking my temperature because it’s been such a long time trying… the ovulation sticks were starting to get a bit expensive. I’m hoping I will become more regular again soon. My sister has also not had a Period since her second jab, I think this problem should be warned to people

birdbybird · 22/06/2021 13:33

Is there anyone else still waiting for a period?

DowntonCrabby · 22/06/2021 13:35

I’ve been 9 days late this month, second jab was in April and May’s period was normal. I’m pretty regular 30/31 days usually so it is a bit strange.

BeachSunsets · 22/06/2021 13:45

I think there’s a website where you can report this. It’s a shame they didn’t add this into the trials from last year. So many women have raised this concern and they need to investigate it.
