@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @thislittlebird it's all just bonkers isn't it and seems to come down to pot luck on trusts/doctors. It's unfair that it seems that there really is such a thing as fertility inequality in the UK. The fertility consultant we saw last week didn't seem to rate progesterone much either. Said I could try it at some point if I want but the corpus luteum would produce enough progesterone even if my LP was short?! I have a very short LP (8 days) and I had 2 mcs before my daughter so it was a question for me then. No one seemed to share my view though! I guess it's likely those were clotting related though as I had a blood clot in the first and no blood thinners and then delay before I got heparin started for the second (I'm supposed to start on day 1 of positive test and I was without it for a week). Or could have just been random ones that weren't meant to be.
A1 - fingers crossed that everything works out for you this time - looking good so far and every reason to be positive I think! 🤞🏻
Little bird - your migraine point made me wonder - have you had all of your clotting factors checked? I have bad migraines and there's a link between a certain type of migraine (with aura) and blood clotting which means women who have it can't take the combined pill. True for me and I've never been able to take the pill as a result. I think my blood is just quite sticky though I don't have APS/Lupus.

Magnum99 · 05/06/2021 08:51

Sorry wrong picture. Ignore that one, that was an old test that was either evap line or CP.

Here's today's...

@Magnum99 er.... that looks positive to me? Did it come up in time frame? Get a frer to compare!

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 08:54

@Magnum99 I have had streaks before but that test looks positive to me?? Do you have another you can take?

KatRee · 05/06/2021 08:58

@VixFromThe6ix Thank you- yes, trying to think of the positives. Have a consultation on Wednesday evening and will see what solutions might be in the table then. I do half expect the consultant will say straight to ivf, especially if the results indicate my ovarian reserve is low

@thislittlebird So sorry you had to go through that. I also try not to test and the first time I did was when af was a week late because of the pregnacare supplements I took that cycle. That little bit of hope being smashed is so disheartening. I guess the good news is that these supplements do seem to be having the desired effect in the absence of a prescription for progesterone. I read recently on another thread on here that in Canada they 'give it out like sweets' and over here it's always a battle to get it.
Don't worry about the HyCoSy- I'm a wuss and mine was fine - even the cramping when they found the blockage was manageable. The nurse told me the worst part is normally getting the catheter in and I barely felt a thing. Focus on big deep breaths x

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 08:59

@thingymaboob thanks for sharing that info. I've been really nervous about this - I'm having hycosy in July though I have a daughter conceived naturally in 2019 with husband. However, he had a chlamydia infection (he did tell me about) which was treated about 15-20 years ago though he didn't go back for the final check after finishing the treatment course (he was young at uni and naive I guess). I've always really worried about it but I went for a full std work up a few years back and all was fine and I've never had symptoms but bit concerned it could have impacted me?! I know that symptoms can be silent but if he was treated and we've had a successful pregnancy is it possible it could be a problem? I worry myself sick about it sometimes and he always refused to go and get tested before we started TTC as he didn't like the test (a proper prude!) and had no symptoms 😬

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:01

@Magnum99 I would get a frer to check that one as I'm not sure that's negative. Fingers crossed xx

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:03

@thingymaboob out of interest, if you don't mind my asking, did you go on to have a successful pregnancy?

thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 09:03

@ElsieG3m I dont know what clotting factors are because I’ve not really had sod all checked but I don’t get aura, just regular migraines with occasional sickness before my period and sometimes after ovulation (including this month). I take it that doesn’t count? I’ve had them much less lately (since last year) and I’m convinced this is all peri menopause. Whether I ovulate at all is another matter entirely and no one seems to be interested so now it’s just a waiting game for the stupid hycosy and then my husband’s results in a few weeks and private help. I’m annoyed that he hasn’t got the tests done already, we could have bad answers by early July but probably will be later now. Time is not my friend.

Fertility inequality is definitely a thing in this country. I don’t think ccg’s should just get to offer such different options, it should be standardised.

I think the ‘weren’t meant to bes’ are another fear of docs with progesterone. They don’t want to make you hang on to a baby you wouldn’t have otherwise.

@MgW1 I’ve never tried it but maybe we should

@thingymaboob thanks. I’m very worried about the hycosy but it’s good to hear of experiences that aren’t awful.

Magnum99 · 05/06/2021 09:09

@ElsieG3m @thingymaboob sorry I posted the wrong picture the first time, the first one was from a few months ago.
The second picture was from this morning, do you think you can see a line on the second one? I did wonder but then concluded it was wishful thinking / steaks playing tricks on my eyes.

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:10

@thislittlebird that is utterly rubbish. I'm so sorry. If you are at the lister or elsewhere seeing a consultant, ask them to do full blood work up: APTT, C reactive protein, protein s, vit d, everything they can. There is some evidence that in women with anti phospholipid syndrome migraine of any type is an indicator with the main factor being clotting. If there's any indication of clotting, they'll give you baby aspirin 75mg - it's such an easy fix though don't take unless under doctor supervision. I just can't believe you've gone this long with no help at all. It's utterly utterly rubbish xx

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:11

@Magnum99 I think I can see a vertical line under the streak but don't want to create false hope - another test to be sure lovely and I'll have everything crossed for you. Let us know xx

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:13

@thislittlebird ps my migraines are regular as clockwork but I do go through phases where they wane and almost go into remission for a couple of months. Then back with a vengeance. So it's probably that rather than peri-menopause (though I was thinking the same too at one point!)

Magnum99 · 05/06/2021 09:23

@ElsieG3m yeh I can see what looks like a more solid line under the streak but you'd think if it was positive it would run from top to bottom?
It's also been 2 hours now so possibly just an evap line I'm looking at.

I might get DH to pick up a FRER on his way home from work and do it tomorrow with FMU.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 but I don't want to get my hopes up too much, been here before.

I've joked it probably will happen this month because we've got a gorgeous lodge booked for Feb half term 2022, when we booked it we said if I'm heavily pregnant we'll still go as it's only an hour from home or if we've got a newborn we'll still go. But if I am pregnant this cycle I'll be due around the time we are due to go.
It's fine, obviously getting pregnant is more important and we can always change it, but it would just be typical that I'd be due at an inconvenient time 😂

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:26

@Magnum99 the line I think I can see is running top to bottom lovely but only way to be sure is another test. I really hope that this is your month (holiday aside!) xx

Geriatric1234 · 05/06/2021 09:27

@Magnum99

Sorry wrong picture. Ignore that one, that was an old test that was either evap line or CP.

Here's today's...

On this one I think it’s evap. :-( BUT the fact ANYTHING is on there means I’d deffo do another one as I’d call it inconclusive. Fingers crossed!!
Geriatric1234 · 05/06/2021 09:31

@ElsieG3m Does you OH know that the tests are very different now and don’t involve anything going down his tubes?

Personally I loved a regular check up at the STD clinic! So easy! And now you can order tests via council and do them at home. X

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 09:51

@Geriatric1234 no but it was treated 20 years ago, we've had our daughter since and no other partners in between. Do you think it's necessary? Neither of us gave symptoms though I have something that feels like cystitis but urine test fine. Doctor thinks stress or maybe Bv. Not sure why something would crop up now after 11 years together and no other partners

Geriatric1234 · 05/06/2021 09:54

@ElsieG3m I don’t think it’s necessary, but if it’s lurking in your mind enough to mention and stress you out I’d probably just get an at-home test to soothe my nerves. But if GP says not an issue it probably isn’t. I just love getting test results! 🤣

M4v3r1ck · 05/06/2021 11:10

Happy Saturday ladies, hope you're all well! 😃

I'm so far behind on the chat, so sorry for missing any big news! Hopefully we'll have some more healthy happy BFPs soon! 😍🤞🏻 Been a lovely flurry of them recently! 😃

Just wanted to share the new thread for anyone wanting to join the pregnancy group:
Pregnant at 35+ (old ovaries, new lines) - Thread 2 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4262743-pregnant-at-35-old-ovaries-new-lines-thread-2

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 12:10

@Geriatric1234 thanks! Tbh I'm so anxious everything lurks in my mind and stressed me out 😂 I'm like you though - always loved going for regular checks and a clean bill of health - even when I was in a long term monogamous relationship! I actually have to get it checked before hycosy anyway I think so I'll see if I can bring that forward xx

thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 13:44

@Geriatric1234 @ElsieG3m me and dh went for tests when we first got together but I thought it was interesting that the ivf forms we've been filling in require them. It makes sense, but hadn't crossed my mind before.

I would be less concerned by peri-menopause if my mother hadn't had an earlier menopause but there's nothing I can about that now. It's coming up to 2 years since we started all this in a few months, I need to just plough on with assisted asap. Will ask about the bloods when I next speak to her.

My period came this morning so I'm going to email the secretary about booking the dreaded hycosy today. I got pretty upset that being pregnant even crossed my mind, it's hard to let go of that last bit of hope you have of conceiving naturally.

thingymaboob · 05/06/2021 16:12

@ElsieG3m I was regularly tested for chlamydia when I was in my late teens / early 20s and I've never had a positive swab so I suspect it was an ex who gave it to me due to history but it could've been anytime? No idea when but didn't have many opportunities if you know what I mean. My GP is really good and ordered the titres to check if I'd had previous infection, which I did. Luckily it didn't damage anything. I have had 1 x MC, 1 x fill term DD and I'm currently pregnant after just one month of trying

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 22:20

@thingymaboob thanks for the info! And congratulations! I've lost track of where everyone is and all the bfps! x

GuessHowMuch · 05/06/2021 23:15

@thislittlebird I’m so confused why they won’t help you and do all the tests and discussions. I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with that 😔 Fingers crossed the Hycosy is soon and goes well.

@Magnum99 I think I can see something on your photo - a vertical line. It goes a bit more fuzzy when zooming in though so not sure. Fingers crossed if you test in the morning 🥰

My AF arrived so definitely a chemical. It was horrible being in limbo but glad I went to see my GP (I’m not in UK so no EPU here) because it meant I could start processing things and get a head start on my arthritis meds. Onwards and upwards.

@Misty84 not sure if I’ve missed something but haven’t seen you post for a little while. I know you were going through a tough time; hope that you’re as ok as possible 🌷
