That should have said shaky MS Teams start.

KatRee · 04/06/2021 13:20

Thank you @thislittlebird . It does actually feel like I need to find a way to 'unlock' those eggs be that via some kind of surgery or ivf. I was glad to see there were some actually in there at least - they are just stuck!
So glad you've finally got a good doctor on your side after all of your previous experiences- and good that they are exploring different solutions with you. Hope everything goes well and moves swiftly

Noodella18 · 04/06/2021 14:18

@thislittlebird great, pleased your first appointment was productive!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sorry to hear about the constipation! Water water water! I'm feeling good thanks, tiny bit of brown spotting today, but just when I wipe and my temps are still up and my test was darker this morning. And I had bad night sweats, which I did when I was pregnant before! So I'm feeling pretty good all in all.

Magnum99 · 04/06/2021 15:11

8 DPO and the symptom spotting is back!
I'm actually feeling quite optimistic this time, using CB ovulation tests which I love so I'm confident about when I ovulated and we DTD on the right days, DH is confident that he 'produced well' HmmWink
But I feel like if we've not hit the jackpot this month I'm going to be really deflated as I feel like we've done everything right.

It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow so I'm going to do a CB early test in the hope of getting a faint line 9DPO, it'll be a lovely anniversary present if we can.

KatRee · 04/06/2021 19:50

@Noodella18 Glad to here things are progressing nicely
@Magnum99 I hope you hit the jackpot this month!

Noodella18 · 04/06/2021 20:44

Best of luck with testing tomorrow @Magnum99 and have a lovely anniversary no matter what xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/06/2021 22:28

@thislittlebird it's brilliant you like this Dr, so pleased your appointment went well!

@Noodella18 that's fab news on the darker line, really reassuring

@Magnum99 happy anniversary for tomorrow

VixFromThe6ix · 05/06/2021 02:05

@Noodella18 that is one wonderful line, missy!! How are you today? Any spotting? First time I got pregnant and started bleeding I went to the emergency and they were so so kind to do all the tests and ultrasounds. So please don't hesitate to ask for help. Maybe like you said, it could have been the coughing. I know when I sneeze I get kind of a sharp pain in the lower area so that means even that can put pressure on the uterus, and I can just imagine with coughing!!

@Magnum99 fingers crossed for you!!!!

@katree hope you find a way to unblock the tubes, love. I know it was probably tough to hear those results but a positive (like many girls already said) is that you now know what the issue was. And it seems fixable!! So I'm feeling very hopeful for you!!

@thislittlebird so glad your appointment went well and you like the doctor!!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yikes, constipation!! Are plums in season where you are? They help!! I don't have constipation, but I'm bloated and I get burps after everything I eat. All my summer dresses make me look pregnant cause of my bloated stomach 🥴 #hawt

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 she was really good, I’d be happy to see her about other gynaecology things too. She’s private of course but sometimes it’s good to know of a good person.

It’s now cd32 for me/15dpo. I’m waiting for my period which was due on day 29 but my cycles can be wonky so I haven’t got excited, I was about six days late in December. Additionally I’m taking a high dose of b6 (100mg post O) this cycle to increase progesterone and really want to stop it now because it’s not great long term but catch 22...

If I’d been given progesterone some time ago by a doctor I wouldn’t be awake at 2am worrying about this. I guess I’ll have to take a test if I want to stop it, hate testing more than I can possibly express. I know it’ll be negative and then I’ll be upset and I’ve wasted my own energy and emotions even considering the alternative option. Hate it.

Was b6 advised to you by a doctor or is that just something that seems to work for progesterone?
Also, why were you not given progesterone? I keep reading you guys mention not being given it...why not? Do you have to qualify or what's going on?
Asking cause I got it kind of easily, so wondering if it's the difference in the medical system between countries...

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 02:31

@VixFromThe6ix I advised myself 🥴. I’ve read other people doing it and there’s lots of advice online that b6 increases progesterone. But higher doses aren’t without potential problems either so I don’t want to have to take it for much longer when I should really be taking progesterone.

I think it’s available over the counter in some countries but here they’re weird about it. GP never offered it, gynaecologist never offered it (she should have and if I wasn’t having a breakdown in her office at the time I would have asked) and I know I need help with this so it’s very frustrating.

VixFromThe6ix · 05/06/2021 02:41

@thislittlebird good to know about b6!!

Can you ask your gp or gyno for progesterone ? I think one I got prescribed is natural, so better than risking side effects with b6?

It must be frustrating knowing you need it and not have a medical professional offer it. To be honest, I was the one who mentioned progesterone at a consultation with my fertility doc but she right away made out a prescription. Made me wonder if she would have even said anything if I haven't...

There has to be some kind of rehab for us ttc girls. So much stress and uncertainty, shoddy doctors and just lack of information... 😵

thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 02:51

@VixFromThe6ix yeah it’s not good. I would say maybe the GP would but the last GP I spoke to was not even slightly helpful or friendly and I don’t want to have this conversation with that one. There’s lots of GPs at my new surgery but I might get her again Hmm. I could do a private doctor thing online maybe, frustrating to have to pay (again). But I might try it whatever comes of this cycle because it’s something I need to be able to conceive.

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 07:09

@thislittlebird I'm so sorry you were awake in the night worrying. I have those nights often and it's just miserable. Could you bring yourself to take the test today just to have the confirmation so you can look ahead to your next cycle if necessary? Which doctor did you see and could she prescribe progesterone for you?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/06/2021 07:22

@thislittlebird I don't know how correct this is, but I was told NHS GPs aren't allowed to prescribe fertility stuff, and because the NICE guidelines state there's little benefit to progesterone (unless you're in a multiple loss scenario) the cost benefit means it cannot be widely prescribed. Having said that my GP was not at all helpful, so she might have been trying to just avoid helping any more!
I was taking 1000mg of vitamin C for progesterone production.

@VixFromThe6ix how're you?

thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 07:42

@ElsieG3m yeah I’ve just done it now. BFN as expected (no thanks to the stupid FRER indents) although I knew it would be so it’s whatever. I’ll drop my dose down tonight.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it’s incredibly frustrating you can’t get it even when you’re massively lacking in it and have been told unlikely you sustain a pregnancy. Hmm hopefully Lister will help me but I’m seeing them in a few weeks so may as well ask then.

MgW1 · 05/06/2021 08:05

@thislittlebird
Im on 10mg b6 and iv had no probs with it at all , i think it takes several months to build up in your system.
They are cautious about progesterone because it can increase the risk of breast cancer , the recurrent mc nurse asked me about my family history x

thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 08:15

@mgw1 I’m pretty sure it’s water soluble, and works straight away, from what I’ve read. It may take a while to build up on a low dose but body doesn’t hold on to it so I’m not quite sure. Might be different on 100mg I’m on, or 50mg before that, it definitely works straight away for me because I go from zero sore boobs to no sore boobs a little while after I start taking it. Not this month, on 100mg they’ve been consistently sore, on 50mg they’re sore in waves depending how long ago I took it.

I’m only allowed progesterone only bc pills because of migraines so it’s really lose lose with all these hormones 😐

ElsieG3m · 05/06/2021 08:25

@thislittlebird I'm sorry. It's just heartbreaking to get that result every cycle and to try to pick yourself up again. But the positive thing is you do now have help from the right people so hopefully only a matter of time before you have success.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think progesterone is useless once a pregnancy is being lost but if it's taken from the point of or just before conception, it can help to sustain a pregnancy. It used to be the case that progesterone was prescribed to slow/stop a miscarriage or after conception. Prof Lesley Reagan describes this as locking the stable door after the horse has bolted. I learned about it doing my phd in miscarriages the first time around and asked her about it during a consultation 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/06/2021 08:33

@ElsieG3m I completely agree on the progesterone, I think it is useful and was asking for it as was getting mid cycle spotting and a short luteal phase. I was wondering if it's why I've miscarried also, and nervous about the same happening here for this pregnancy. But apparently because the NICE guidelines don't deem it to have a benefit, that's why it couldn't be prescribed to me.

Even more ridiculous in @thislittlebird situation when they've said that her progesterone is low, but won't supplement it!

thislittlebird · 05/06/2021 08:33

@ElsieG3m I don’t even expect to be pregnant at this stage, we started in October 2019 and no bfp has even been seen. That’s why I don’t test normally and honestly struggle to even look at bfps. I’ll wait for my period but right now it’s apparently being scared away by progesterone from lots of b6 Confused.

I understand why they don’t want to prescribe progesterone for someone miscarrying because horse bolted and all that. But some of us don’t even have enough to make anything stick in the first place, that’s not even in their bloody guidelines most likely. Or they’ll say have clomid, but a chance would be a fine thing.

Worst part about all this is I will have to have a hycosy next week once AF shows her head and I really don’t want one.

selina37 · 05/06/2021 08:41

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 just want to say... for constipation, try kiwis, about 3 🥝 They work a treat!

Magnum99 · 05/06/2021 08:48

So I didn't get the anniversary BFP I was hoping for 😔 but it is only day 9 so still early days.
But I'm annoyed with my test this morning, there was blue streaks going across the test window making it pretty impossible to read within the time frame.
Even after 1&1/2 hours it's still got some streaks, here's a picture.
Anybody else had this?

thingymaboob · 05/06/2021 08:49

To anyone undergoing a hycosy- I had one in 2016 after I discovered that I had had a chlamydia infection which was never treated (ex boyfriend not telling me about it). I had bloods done at the GP which showed that my chlamydia titres were extremely high (evidence of previous infection) and there was some research paper which looked at the relationship between chlamydia titres and blocked tubes and there is a positive correlation so based on my titres, I had a 75% chance of blocked Fallopian tubes so I paid for a private hycosy (we hadn't started TTC yet but as such a high chance I needed to know whether my tubes were blocked so I didn't waste 1-2 years trying the natural way before getting help). The procedure was extremely quick, not painful, just a bit of pressure when they inject the dye and the radiologist showed me the pictures and talked me through the findings immediately. It was no worse than a smear. My tubes were absolutely clear. It was so interesting to see the shape of my uterus (which is retroflexed). I just wanted to reassure anyone having a hycosy how quick & simple it is

MgW1 · 05/06/2021 08:49

@thislittlebird
I also got maca root for my husband x
