Oh my goodness, how exciting @LS2020 you haven’t long to wait now at all! Ohh I never had a 4d scan, I bet that was fascinating. How are you finding pregnancy generally? How are you feeling about the possibility of the induction?
He’s 16 weeks on Friday. Can hardly believe it’s almost a whole year ago that I got my BFP, the 9th March. I absolutely loved being pregnant and still miss my bump tbh 😂 he’s a proper little character, always laughing, and he’s strong as an ox. Huge too, he’s just gone into 6-9 month clothes and weighs about 18lbs.

LS2020 · 05/03/2022 06:10

@MrsTimRiggins I know, it still feels ages away though for my mat leave even though next 5 weeks will probably go so quickly!
I wanted to love pregnancy more, especially after how long it’s taken us. I’m trying to remain grateful and remind myself how much I’m living the part of my life I wished of for two years but damn the lack of sleep and aches etc 😂😅 apart from the sickness at the first half, I don’t think I’ve had a bad pregnancy at all tbf.
I don’t mind on the induction as I’m so keen to have them here now, I don’t want to wait anymore!

Oh my gosh a whole year, that feels crazy to know they’ve been with you that long! I’ve said to my OH I’m going to miss my bump and baby being “mine”, not sure I’m ready to share them. This is worrying me on the clothes, we have so much newborn stuff people have gifted us and I’m convinced they’re going to come out and be like a size 0-3m haha. So glad to hear you’re all doing well though ❤️

Latest update in the saga of Sunbird’s Quest for a Chick…
Still had retained products following January’s ERPC, misoprostol didn’t work and dynamite is apparently overkill, so more surgery tomorrow. However… the latest pregnancy was a genetically perfect little boy, so the consultant is going to prescribe steroids and everything else she can think of for my next attempt. That’s going to have to be from a different clinic as I’m changing jobs (same company) at the end of this month, which means moving halfway across the country, but even that’s good as it’s where my house is and I have a female support network there.

Hope LittleChunkyRiggins and Bump2020 are both behaving themselves!

LS2020 · 11/04/2022 08:09

@Sunbird24 how are you getting on? Hope the surgery went well ❤️ Glad you are a bit closer to home, it always helps mentally I think unless family are a stress factor!

Thank you, currently 36w and baby is measuring big so don’t think I have too long left 🤞🏻

Hi all, to let you know my baby boy arrived Thursday am, a lovely 7lb 13! He is the light of our lives and we are super blessed 🥰

@LS2020 oh how lovely! That’s wonderful news, thank you for letting us know Flowers 💝

I’m going to try again next month, AF should be here any day now, so I’m probably looking at the end of June. Have started a new job a month ago, and looking to try and move house soon as my already ridiculously noisy neighbours are expecting number 4 and planning a loft conversion. 😡

LS2020 · 17/05/2022 07:22

@Sunbird24 hope AF arrived for you as expected 🤞🏻

oh gosh, noisy neighbours are the worst. Ours are a bit of a nightmare (were fine pre pandemic but being home with their barking dog all day is not ideal) but I believe we are the noisy neighbours now so it’s nice to get revenge 😂

Oh WOW! I just found a notification and had to pop on and see how everyone is getting on...
@LS2020 - I'm so happy to hear you've had a little boy! 🥰❤️

So happy to say I finally fell pregnant in January this year (after doing the unmentionable and "just completely forgetting about TTC" 🙄 I was literally just getting to the "I'm just going to be the cool aunt - and that's cool" stage 😅) and we're excitedly waiting for our little rainbow to appear in October 🥰
21+1 today and baby is kicking away as I type 🥰

I'll try to remember to check back in regularly! I just disappeared from Mumsnet entirely for a while 😬

MrsT here!! Oh I am so so so thrilled for you!! What fantastic news 🥰 how are you feeling?
My boy is 2 now, and we’ve been ttc#2 for almost two years… such fun to start all over again but I have to say it is less painful this time, at least I know we have a chance… and if it never happens, at least I have my perfect boy.

CaribouCarafe · 06/01/2024 22:05

@Ughmaybenot hello hello! Sorry to hear that you're having to go through the whole circus again, but how wonderful that you have a 2 year old! Time really flies!

I'm feeling pretty good - had bad morning sickness for just one week, obviously worried myself into thinking it was bad news, had an early scan and saw a lovely healthy heartbeat at 8w5d so that was very reassuring. Current symptoms are just tiredness, needing to pee constantly, and some food aversions/cravings - so thinking it might be a boy! Also...why on earth does no-one warn you about round ligament pain - I freaked out in the first few weeks before learning it was normal!

LS2020 · 17/02/2024 09:44

@CaribouCarafe @mrswilso @Ughmaybenot so lovely to log back on and see that you’ve all been online!!

@CaribouCarafe congratulations!! how did your 12 week scan go? Honestly there’s so much you get told which is useless and so much you don’t get told which would be so helpful!

@Ughmaybenot my LO is 22 months now, we’ve been trying about a year and no luck beyond a couple of early miscarriages so we start IVF again next month now. We always wanted 3 but heartbreaking to know this will probably be our only chance. I’ve told my husband I’m only willing to do it again until we get a baby and I can’t face the process again for a third. If we have embryos left I’ll consider then x

CaribouCarafe · 17/02/2024 10:29

Oh hai there @LS2020! The 12 week scan went well, am now at 16 weeks and starting to get my energy back (thank goodness!).

Sorry to hear that no.2 hasn't been an easy ride for you - fingers crossed the ivf goes successfully 💐

Ughmaybenot · 17/02/2024 10:38

Oh fabulous @CaribouCarafe im so glad your pregnancy is progressing along well and you’re starting to feel much more yourself! I know that first trimester can really be a bit of a steamroller! Do you think you’ll ask at the 20 week scan whether you’re having a boy or a girl or will you keep it a surprise?

@LS2020 that sounds so tough. Wishing you the very best of luck with your ivf journey. It’s so hard having to adjust your expectations isn’t it? I always , always said I wanted at least 4 but there’s no chance of that happening now. One because if it’s going to take us so long to conceive, we’ll run out of time but two because I just don’t want to do this shit over and over again. Got another negative pg test this morning and it still feels like such a kick in the gut. Plus I don’t want to give too much headspace to ttc and miss out on what I do have, iyswim?

CaribouCarafe · 17/02/2024 11:53

@Ughmaybenot definitely will ask, although our baby seems to be quite coy - it was hiding its nub all the way through the 12 week scan, so wouldn't surprised if it somehow acquired a fig leaf to cover up its genitals for the 20 week one!

Sorry to hear that you're also struggling to conceive again, it must be exhausting going through this all over again 💐

LS2020 · 19/02/2024 19:44

@CaribouCarafe oh that’s good! I was horridly sick until week 20 so pleased you’re feeling back to yourself a bit. Enjoy it, it doesn’t last long 😂
a good Mars bar/can of coke beforehand will get them moving I’m sure. I had to do star jumps at mine as they couldn’t see his kidneys so would have preferred the chocolate!!

@Ughmaybenot yea I totally get it - it’s been 5 years of my life this year of TTC and I’m ready to close the chapter. I’m just turned 31 so I’ve decided it’ll be a no contraception but not “trying” after this one til I’m 35 maybe and then the snip because at some point I just want to shut the door and move on. It takes up so much energy and I feel like I lose two weeks of my life all the time - the week before “what ifs” no drinking etc and then crying into chocolate for a week of my period. I remember your luck was around finding you had ovulated/were ovulating that particular day - could you get some clomid or something prescribed which may help you pinpoint?

OP posts:
CaribouCarafe · 19/02/2024 20:04

Haha yeah I'd rather have a coke than show how unfit I am in front of my sonographer 😅

Ughmaybenot · 21/02/2024 19:43

That made me laugh @CaribouCarafe thehre such awkward little sods sometimes! Oh I’m so happy for you, how exciting for you 😊 I had to do the star jumps thing too 😂
Yes it’s very difficult to know what best to do @LS2020 were currently trying to decide what our cut-off really would be. I’m 30 so only slightly younger than you, and I just don’t particularly want to do this forever.. even if we weren’t trying-trying, there’s always tht hope… and subsequent disappointment! My brother had his fifth today. His youngest is only a month or two younger than my son and this latest was a ‘oops’ moment apparently. They’re, naturally, sending photos this evening and I am happy for them but it also really bloody stings!

LS2020 · 24/02/2024 08:11

@CaribouCarafe maybe you’re SOL on the star jumps 😂

@Ughmaybenot that is so tough. Thankfully we’re the first of our friend groups/family to have a baby and probably have a good another year before anyone announces anything so I’ve been spared in that. I have a good work friend who had ages to conceive her first baby, she was in IVF referral when it happened and then had a second “whoops” baby. Literally in that she reckons she must have thrown up her pill while unwell, that once. Bodies are so weird really! remember you’re valid for your grief in the same way they’re valid for their joy. Neither is wrong, and we wouldn’t be human without these moments but I hope you have a strong support in your OH and you do take the time to grieve and get in early on an Easter egg and indulge!!
