Thank you @Sunbird24 Smile

I was 39w+5 on Friday @LS2020 and he was certainly in no rush to vacate naturally so goodness knows how big he may have got! The c-section was definitely a good idea all round, he had the cord around his neck when they finally hauled him out, they did need forceps but those marks have gone already. It was a really good experience. Thank you so much 😊

LS2020 · 07/11/2021 10:27

@Ughmaybenot yeah probably would have had another week in there happily! I’m so glad you had a good experience with. A caesarean has always been bottom of my list of birth experiences but been speaking to women who’ve had planned ones and how magical the experience can still be on your own terms and my birthing book was talking about all different options and suggested the idea of being open to moving to a planned caesarean rather than going through every possible natural birth stage to end up needing an emergency one can be a lot less traumatic so I’ve pretty much decided if something isn’t happening ie not inducing or needing some extra intervention, I’m going to go straight to asking for a caesarean I think.
Have the best time x

@Ughmaybenot wanted to check in to see how you are all doing - hope you are all enjoying your lovely newborn bubble xx

Hi Ugh here 👋🏻 Sorry I didn’t answer previously, it’s been a whirlwind!!
Honestly, I’m so glad I chose the caesarean, I can’t be more positive about the whole experience, it felt really special.
Newborn bubble is treating us well, I don’t want to tempt fate but he’s such a darling, sleeps pretty well and now we’ve cracked breastfeeding, he’s even more content!
We did have a bit of a wobble because he lost a lot of weight due to struggling with latching, but he’s almost back to his birth weight now so that’s all good.
Hope you’re okay?

LS2020 · 20/11/2021 08:49

@MrsTimRiggins I can imagine!! How wonderful, glad you’re all getting on so well.

I hope I stick breastfeeding out, I think my OH has just realised that he won’t get to really bottle feed them young and he seems to have gone so open to me not breastfeeding now but know he’ll get bored after the 5th bottle 🙄
I’m good thanks, still nauseated and not really feeling much else but 15 weeks now so it’s definitely going quicker!

Lovely to hear from you both!
I’ve just hit my LH peak (a day or two earlier than I expected 🤦‍♀️) so will be having my 4th transfer with embryo number 6 this week.

LS2020 · 20/11/2021 13:45

Ahh @Sunbird24 how exciting - good luck for it 🤞🏻

MrsTimRiggins · 21/11/2021 13:48

All I will say @LS2020 is do not, in any way, beat yourself up about it if you get off to a slow start or struggle with breastfeeding and definitely don’t see it as a ‘failing’ if you do go to formula instead. Breastfeeding is not easy, and I swear no one says enough about it being hard work!! Obviously tho, fingers crossed you have no issues, but just in case!
15 weeks, oh my goodness!! Oh I’m so excited for you 😊 not long before your 20 week scan now, do you think you’ll ask whether you’ll be having a little boy or a little girl?

Ah wishing you all the very best of luck @Sunbird24 will be thinking of you x

LS2020 · 24/11/2021 07:18

@MrsTimRiggins thank you, my boobs feel like they’ve grown into mountains so hopefully will have a good milk supply 😂
20 week scan is the Tuesday before Christmas so be a lovely treat that week! I don’t think so, want to keep the surprise I think ☺️ Got my 16 week appointment tomorrow and hoping midwife will listen to heartbeat, if not, might pay for an interim scan to check everything’s ok

OP posts:
MrsTimRiggins · 24/11/2021 09:59

@LS2020 fingers crossed!! It’s when your milk comes in, that’s when you have to watch out, I honestly felt like I was about to topple over from the bloody size of them 😂
Ah lovely, how exciting 😊 aw we kept it a surprise and I am so glad we did, that moment was so special 😊 I don’t think the midwives checked the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment but I think it varies! Let us know how you get on x

Sunbird24 · 01/12/2021 18:18

Hey ladies, hope everyone’s doing ok! I’m only 5dp5dt (10dpo) but I felt ropey today, peeing more than usual and sense of smell got a bit sensitive…
Will this be the one? 🤞

Not long til your scan now @LS2020 so exciting 😊

Sunbird24 · 14/12/2021 22:57

Hey @MrsTimRiggins, I’m now 5+2 and got a 3+ yesterday on the weeks indicator. Scan not until 6th Jan though!

MrsTimRiggins · 15/12/2021 03:32

@Sunbird24

Hey *@MrsTimRiggins*, I’m now 5+2 and got a 3+ yesterday on the weeks indicator. Scan not until 6th Jan though!
Oh that’s brilliant news @Sunbird24. Glad your ‘line’ progression seems to where you’d want it to be! How are you feeling? The 6th must seem a terribly long time away.
LS2020 · 18/12/2021 11:38

@Sunbird24 hope it’s good news at your scan for you ❤️

@MrsTimRiggins how are you getting on?
I know can’t believe I’m half way next week - crazy!!

MrsTimRiggins · 18/12/2021 12:11

Really good thank you @LS2020 thank you 😊 he’s a darling, albeit a greedy one who seems to want to feed 24/7! He’s sleeping well, generally only a couple of wakes a night to feed now and he settles again so easily. He outgrew his Moses basket at 4 weeks so he’s now in his cot (still in our room) which is adorable as he looks like a little dot in there, but does sleep well in there. He likes having space for his arms to fling out! He’s smiling now, which just melts me.

How exciting that you’re halfway!! Do you feel like it’s going fast or is it dragging? I feel like everyone I know says it’s one extreme or the other! For me, it flew by.

LS2020 · 19/12/2021 09:18

@MrsTimRiggins your message has just reminded me of a Reddit AITA thread I saw yesterday of a husband complaining his wife was hogging their newborn son as he was feeding all the time 🙄 I showed to my OH and was like what is wrong with men 😂
How lovely! Glad he is eating well and you’re enjoying all those precious moments 🥰

It’s a mix of both, first trimester dragged. 12-18 weeks flew, last two weeks have slowed a bit but think that’s scan and Xmas anticipation. Feel like January will drag and hoping it speeds back up, February is a short month 😂 looking back it doesn’t feel 20 weeks though so guess it is going quick?!

MrsTimRiggins · 21/12/2021 16:29

@LS2020 ffs, you couldn’t make it up!! Thank you 😊
It’s a weird feeling… and for me personally even weirder looking back at the whole ‘journey’ (so to speak!) from starting ttc to cuddling this little person now. Such a rollercoaster, just feel very lucky we got the happy ending.

LS2020 · 22/12/2021 09:24

@MrsTimRiggins yes that’s what im trying to remind myself, I spent 2 years wanting to be pregnant and so I need to remember to enjoy this point, even when im tired and achey 😂 had my 20 week scan yesterday and all fab with baby ❤️

How are you getting on @LS2020? Hope all is well x

LS2020 · 23/02/2022 20:19

Hi @MrsTimRiggins I’m good thank you! 29 weeks today so plodding along. Had a 4D scan last week and baby is measuring 2.5 weeks ahead so have an NHS growth scan next week at 30 weeks so hoping will get an update on if an induction is likely as they had me lined up for one for IVF anyway so might not be too long now. Feels like it’s flying.

How are you getting on? How old is little one now?
