After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@MissC07 I'm CD91! Yeah if my scans clear tomorrow then I don't know what to think, I was fine after my first vaccine, had 2 AF's since that and then got my 2nd one I was already a couple of days late but I've no idea tbh, just annoying me.. I've not had a single spot of blood since the 4th of April so it's really strange! Hopefully we get some answers soon ey 😅

Moocher90 · 04/07/2021 20:55

@MissC07 @MissM94 I had the 2nd covid vaccine just over 2 weeks ago. I spotted that fri to sun, had the smallest patch of blood and was due a period which hasn’t come…. I think the injection also messed up this cycle because I’m not pregnant. Shall see now if I ovulate before the next period.

MissM94 · 04/07/2021 21:23

@Moocher90 ahh I see! I don't even know if I've been ovulating while I've had no AF as every time I've had what I think is niggling ovulation pain my OPK's have been a big fat negative 🤷🏼‍♀️

snow90 · 04/07/2021 21:30
@MissM94 what CD are you now? I'm on CD62 with no AF! The only thing other than stress I can think of is potentially my first covid vaccine I had. My acupuncturist said 3 of her clients have had missed cycles (some two cycles) post vaccine 😩
Sorry to jump in but I just wanted to say that my first covid jab made my cycle 75 days long! My cycles usually range from 42 - 56 days but that was far longer than any I've had since coming off the pill and that was the only thing that had changed that month. Fingers crossed it's the same for you, my cycles have been back to normal since Smile

Moocher90 · 04/07/2021 21:32

@MissM94 my last two cycles I have done progesterone blood tests which have confirmed no haven’t been ovulating despite having internal ultrasound and my right ovary has 3 follicles and one dominant… so I’m now waiting to see gynaecology. I will be ringing GP up though just to make sure it’s written in my notes and that the referral has gone in.

MissM94 · 04/07/2021 21:36

@snow90 don't worry! Thank you for your input, my cycles have been on average 34 days so currently very out of the ordinary haha, how long will it take to go back to normal then if it is the vaccine? 😑 feel like I've already been waiting forever hahaha

MissM94 · 04/07/2021 21:38

@Moocher90 ahh I see! Yeah definitely get that sorted.. if my scan is clear then I don't know what my next step would be? Maybe gynaecologist or endocrinologist? I've no idea my doctor just said we will discuss the "next step" when I've had my scan so we shall wait and wait and wait a bit more then see 😂

snow90 · 04/07/2021 21:52

@MissM94 Mine went back to normal the following cycle and the 2nd jab didn't affect it at all thankfully. One of my friends also had an affected cycle with her vaccine. I only found out it was likely to be that after some frantic googling, but there definitely seems to be more women now saying their periods have been affected after the jab!

MissM94 · 04/07/2021 21:55

@snow90 yeahh, I dunno though haha I'm such an over thinker so I'm fully convinced there is something wrong as it wasn't affected at all by the first jab so I'm not too sure about how much I believer it is due to the jab, but obviously if everything is clear then it must be down to that! Haha

snow90 · 04/07/2021 22:06

@MissM94 Oh yeah I totally get the overthinking aspect! Hope you are back to normal soon Smile

Juno231 · 05/07/2021 10:34

@ChinChilly Just remembered that your TSH is high - any chance of pushing to get levothyroxine for that now as it could be contributing to the MCs?

@MissM94 I've heard lots of people are having delayed periods because of the jab. Mine was only a few days late but I also had mid cycle bleeding which I never have otherwise.

@kay00 remind me what this crazy walking is for again? Those numbers are insane!! I'd love to have done them with you tbh, I love walking.

Speaking of which - our trip to Scotland got pretty much all planned yesterday and I'm SO EXCITED. One of the first things we're doing is a 19km/7h hike to climb Lochnagar Grin

ChinChilly · 05/07/2021 10:59

@Juno231 well I asked my GP to test it again about a month ago which she did and it came back as 3.9 and my T4 (i think it is) was on the lower end of normal, it was just marked as no further action. Tbh it's like banging my head against a brick wall with them, I've asked 3 times now and I'm just told it's normal and not to worry. I know they will test it again at the recurrent miscarriage clinic so maybe they will take it more seriously there

Elsie2021 · 05/07/2021 11:14

@Moocher90 I hope you don’t mind me asking, but with your tests that show you haven’t ovulated, have you been getting positive OPKs and EWCM etc?

Hope you are able to get answers soon xx

Kay00 · 05/07/2021 11:15

@chinchilly I sincerely hope the recurrent miscarriages clinic are real experts who will test everything necessary xx

@juno231 it's a wall for Charity organised through work, raising money for GOSH. It might sound easy walking for two days, but it is essentially an ultra just we will be walking it. I can do 30 miles I one go, but my body suffers and im hobbling. I need to be able to wake up the next morning and walk another 30 miles! It's nuts!

On that note, it would actually be quite inconvenient if I fell pregnant this cycle as it would probably mean backing out of the walk 🙃

Moocher90 · 05/07/2021 11:18

@Elsie2021 yes I was getting positive OPKs and EWCM. The last cycle I had a few days of high temps then they started to drop back to pre ovulation temps.

Juno231 · 05/07/2021 11:53

@Elsie2021 remember that EWCM (ie oestrogen surges) and LH peaks only show your body is trying to ovulate, it very well might not be still.

@ChinChilly I know - I feel that way too. I saw someone on the subclinical hypothyroidism thread say they got prescribed levo for 3.1 TSH and that's exactly what I've got yet it keeps getting ignored by the NHS. Others are in the same unexplained infertility boat as me and are getting IUIs on the NHS yet my doc is dead against it? I feel like there's quite a few things left to look into yet I'm being ushered straight into the IVF box whilst banging my head against the wall.

@kay00 haha did you mean convenient! So is the total walk 60 miles over 2 days? I hope you have a fitbit cause you'd gain some epic badges with that!

MissM94 · 05/07/2021 11:53

@snow90 thank you! You too ☺️

@Juno231 yeah, I've heard that too, I've missed 2 AF's now, en route to missing my 3rd so when is it going to turn up hahaha doing my head in

Kay00 · 05/07/2021 12:35

@Juno231 yeah, its 60 miles or 100K over 2 days. Start 8am day 1, walk for 9 hours, start 6am day 2, walk for another 9 hours. We have the option to camp in between, but my walking partners husband is driving us back and forth so we can eat proper meals, get baths and sleep in our own beds Grin I have taken the Monday off work as I'm sure I will be fully disabled that day - haha!

ChinChilly · 05/07/2021 12:51

@Kay00 I really hope so! You're walking sounds exhausting

@Juno231 I'm suprised they haven't suggested treating your thyroid as a first thing, it really frustrates me because it's easy and cheap to treat. I don't think we are even a candidate for IVF because it seems i can easily get pregnant, I just can't maintain the pregnancy.

Well I'm here waiting for this MVA, I need a nervous 💩 🤣

Juno231 · 05/07/2021 13:26

@ChinChilly well hopefully they do something about your TSH then and if that still doesn't work then perhaps a private DNA frag should be on the cards? Hopefully all it's been is tremendous bad luck though and nothing more sinister than that.

@kay00 ah that sounds like a lot of fun though - I hope I get to do it too one day!

Kay00 · 05/07/2021 15:57

@Juno231 it sounds like fun now, but my feet will be bruised, swollen and covered in heat rash... and that's just at the end of day 1! Grin

ChinChilly · 05/07/2021 17:06

My MVA went well and have to say the procedure was not painful, more uncomfortable, the cramps now are pretty intense now though and I was not prepared for the pain killers up the arse afterwards. Plot twist though I have an RH negative blood, OH is more than likely RH positive seen as 85% of the population are. They said it basically means any pregnancy I have where the fetus has a positive blood type my body will attack it, any future pregnancies will be classed as high risk and will need extra monitoring. The consultant recommended we didn't TTC until I've been seen by the recurrent miscarriage clinic so I guess I'll be taking a TTC break.

Kay00 · 05/07/2021 17:20

@chinchilly I'm glad today went well, but sorry that you're getting cramps.

Thats interesting what they have said about your RH- blood type. I have the same (im AB- and my OH is A+), as did my mum. I think they can give you something to help with that? Hopefully the clinic will prescribe something. Do you have an appointment date yet?

ChinChilly · 05/07/2021 17:32

@Kay00 I had a Anti-D injection today which stops you forming antibodies to RH+ blood as long as i haven't been sensitised already I think it's more manageable, I'm not sure if I'm honest it's abit of minefield from what I've briefly looked up. I think the highest risk is miscarriage in the second and third trimester, which is quite a scary thought. No appointment yet, I think it will be a few weeks before I hear anything.

crabette · 05/07/2021 20:26

Hi ladies, I just popped on for a quick check in to see how you were all getting on.

@ChinChilly I'm so heartbroken for you 💔 Actually had a wee cry reading your message.

I'm glad the MVA went well.

Just for a little bit of reassurance on the RH front - like @Kay00 I'm also RH negative. It's generally fine and manageable as long as you have anti-D injections whenever there is a risk your blood and baby's blood mix. (For example, if I have any bleeding at all I need to go for an anti-D injection, and the same at labour, but otherwise they assume all fine.) So if you haven't had any bleeding, you should hopefully be fine on that front too in terms of your body not generating antibodies for future pregnancies.

Sending absolutely all of my love. x
