@birdbybird if you don't mind me asking, can you remember how high your FSH was? I've been having acupuncture and the acupuncturist believes my high levels (14) could be stress or caused by years of the pill. So I'm trying to stay calm. Easier said than done when TTC!

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 21:08

@birdbybird I just turned 37 xx

MgW1 · 27/05/2021 21:12

V.v. cautiously 🙏🙏 x

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 21:16

@WhirlingD I regret many things including in some ways not TTC last year but I was frankly terrified knowing Covid causes blood clots and that I clot during pregnancy. I was looking into an abyss not knowing what decisions to take but thinking I had to stay as safe as possible for my little girl. So we waited. We also waited a bit after we got married. Back then we just weren't worried about fertility, naive as it sounds. I think you can't spend too long regretting decisions you've taken. You're still young and you're in a better position I'm guessing than in your previous marriage. Raising little people puts massive strain on relationships so important you're in a strong place to start. On tues my fertility consultant said most of the women they see tend to be in their 40s but she implied they're still successfully treated. Don't go down rabbit holes like I do - it just gets you worked up and has the opposite effect of the one you're trying to achieve. It might take you a bit longer but it's really likely that you'll have every success. Have you read it starts with the egg and are you both on vits/ubiquinol etc? Xx

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 21:17

@MgW1 this is very exciting!!!!! Congratulations!! How many dpo are you? Xx

birdbybird · 27/05/2021 21:18

@WhirlingD I think my fsh was 16 and retested a couple of months later and it was I think 18. So it was higher than yours. And I took 6 months to conceive so was not bad. I read somewhere that a high fsh is not a good predictor of trouble ttc if you’ve been trying less than 12 months.

AnxiousWannabe · 27/05/2021 21:27

@Misty84 lucky you!you are good to go from here!

@Marvellouslymadmum
Good that you are sorted too! I read up quite a bit and it seems the mRNA (ie Pfizer and moderna) is the recommended one for pregger women ? Ov is fine - I think all vaccines are generally ok during of.

Yeah placentitis is what I read about. It is kinda tough getting pregnant during this stage though I wish I am pregger regardless lol. It's a lot to think about no...and potentially have it at the end of third trimester so that the baby can get immunity too ? Sigh. This is so difficult.

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 21:29

@thislittlebird Covid can cause blood clots and pregnancy is a hypercoagulable state so best to get jabbed up if you can. When I spoke to my neurology consultant last year in the midst of what do I do, he was trying to write the official guidance on blood thinning for Covid patients. It was terrifying -he said young ppl were presenting in hospital with spontaneous strokes, dvts, pulmonary embolisms etc from Covid and blood thinners weren't working. Basically he couldn't treat them. Don't want to scare anyone who is pregnant, reading and hasn't had the jab. The community transmission is now so low, so it's far safer than 6 months ago. I also get waiting beyond the first tri - I'd probably want to do the same if only because of low rates now and not wanting to feel grotty with jab effects.

Getting my second jab on Saturday when af should arrive xx

AnxiousWannabe · 27/05/2021 21:30

@WhirlingD you and I are pretty much the same. But if anything I could share - I had a mini anxiety attack last month that caused me not to ovulate at all - I was stressed trying to figure out how to relax lol.

I still don't have the answer - it's hard and it's not fun TTC at this stage. Beef up on vitamins, try not to Google too much (that almost killed me)...but looking back just hurts. So try not to do that too

Misty84 · 27/05/2021 21:31

@thislittlebird When is your appointment with Alison Taylor? I’d be really interested to hear what she’s like.
I’m still reeling after being told to take Dhea without any concern for current levels! Has made me lose a bit of faith in the whole thing 😕

MgW1 · 27/05/2021 21:32

@ElsieG3m
Its only a squinter , i have had such bad luck with ttc so not getting hopes up but thank you. well I am technically a day late for Af but i had a 2nd peak and ovulated about 5 days late so approx 10 / 11 dpo x

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 21:34

@AnxiousWannabe I get stressed that I can't relax too!! What works for you??!

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 21:35

@MgW1 well hang on for two days and test again but fx it's good news for you. What type of test did you use? Xx

MgW1 · 27/05/2021 21:43

@ElsieG3m
I got 3 boxes of x3 tests - clear and simple from B&M!!!! Anyway done 3 tests because thought it might be evap but no definite v.v. faint line x

Noodella18 · 27/05/2021 22:02

Ooh, very best of luck @MgW1, really hope this is it for you.

@elsie g3m sorry to hear your period has come early. I'm ok thanks, 8dpo tomorrow and think I will test with a cheapy just to scratch the itch. I feel vaguely optimistic this month, i ovulated at my normal time rather than super late, we had sex at the right time and I haven't felt stressed about ttc at all. Even if it's not my cycle I'm feeling happy just to go with it and trust that it will happen sooner or later.

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2021 22:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you 😊 yeah we can't wait! We did it with our flat as that was a new build too. Gonna be much more fun with a house! 😃
I had first dose nearly two weeks ago now. The hospital just said do it far away from egg collection so it'll be over two weeks away from it.
@thislittlebird September so not too long really! Where you hoping to move to? Dinner of dreams that! 😉
Glad acupuncture was good! I'm gonna get involved with that soon I reckon.
@MgW1 tentative congrats hun xx
@Noodella18 good attitude and good luck for testing 🤞🏾

got2be · 27/05/2021 22:21

@MgW1 how exciting 🤞😊

got2be · 27/05/2021 22:23

@VixFromThe6ix how did the bloods go? Xx

I was fully jabbed by mid April so it’s not an issue for me, I’m at higher risk

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 22:26

Well, covid still is, but the vaccine isn’t something to trouble me.

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 22:30

@Misty84 yeah I get that. Was it your Lister doc who said that? I’ll let you know what AT says/how she is, if she suggests dhea to me I’ll be like 😬😬😬. Mr Ramsay said she was good so I’m hoping he’s right.

Maybe you could flag your concern with them and ask for a second opinion? They might do it free of charge if you say you’re concerned. Best to be confident before you get further down the line.

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 22:32

@notyetamumbuttrying I sort of want to move very far south west but in reality that’s unlikely for a few years. I’m just generally bored here, especially since lockdown and feeling trapped with ttc.

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 23:11

A question for you all:

Are any of you taking a multivitamin containing a natural source of folic?

My last pack of seven seas is about to run out in the next few weeks and I want to replace it with a “better” one. Might not really be better but I’ll do more research into what’s in the next one I choose in case there’s a better selection of ingredients.

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 23:11

*folic acid

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/05/2021 00:04

I've been taking vitamin e 🤔

@MgW1 ooh 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you!

@notyetamumbuttrying great news about the house, so exciting for you!

@AnxiousWannabe ot was just the nurse who jabbed me said could you be pregnant and I told her no as I was right around ovulation now and she said that's fine it's more for the Pfizer one anyway. So I deduced from that the az is safer when in early pg 🤷🏼‍♀️

@thislittlebird I just take the pregnacare ones
