@AnxiousWannabe I wouldn't... I just don't trust it yet. And I don't wanna give my body any more reasons to reject the fetus. Maybe I'm overcautious but with mmc I don't wanna take anyyyyy chances.
Right or wrong that's my two cents :)

AnxiousWannabe · 27/05/2021 16:21

As if TTC isn't stressful enough no.
I had an argument with my OH. He wanted to go for his 2nd jab during my ov time. I was asking if he could delay it.
Also I am not due for my 2nd jab till August..if miracle happens before then I wonder. But that's a good problem to have.

@KatRee
I did mine on cd2. I think my period was slightly heavier but that's about it. Perhaps you should so it as early as possible. If you get a bfp this cycle at least you'd have some protection!

@VixFromThe6ix
I know where you are coming from. Just stay extra vigilant and be very very careful k

M4v3r1ck · 27/05/2021 16:40

Argh I'm so behind ladies! Omg did we get another BFP?! 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Re: vaccine, I was planning to get it whilst TTC as there's nothing to indicate there would be cause for concern. Now I'm pregnant and my vaccine letter arrives... so I spoke to the midwife yesterday, and she (and the guidelines) are very much "it's your choice/decision". However, most women wait until after 12 weeks. From the Lancet paper, a large % got their first dose in the third trimester with good outcomes. So, atm, and all being well with my current pregnancy, I plan to get the vaccine in my third trimester! 😃🤞🏻

Misty84 · 27/05/2021 18:55

@AnxiousWannabe I had my second jab on Sat, it was CD2 for me, if AF hadn’t arrived I prob wouldn’t have got it because would be petrified of risking anything as have been TTC for so long! But while I’m not pregnant I thought it’s a good idea to get the vaccine.

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/05/2021 18:59

@thislittlebird phew that's good news he's got plenty of hair everywhere else just not his head 😂 I do find it very bizarre that they haven't tried you on progesterone, let's hope the new clinic are far more Proactive!
I just hope mine sticks to it!

@Geriatric1234 that sounds very interesting, I've never really been on a diet I just try and cut out the junk when I want to lose pounds, I find as a vegetarian any diet I look at doesn't look good lol

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sorry he cancelled the sa hopefully it won't be too long for the next one!

I had my second jab last Saturday which was right around ov time (it's actually a little later now) but checked with the doc to make sure it was ok to have the az one and she said yes and then checked when in there and they said actually it's the Pfizer that people have been told to avoid in pregnancy so that's good

@ElsieG3m I'm at the same point as you! Period due Monday. Am 38 and TTC. Normally post on the post-pill cycle thread (as had an agonising 101 day wait for first AF!). In a moment of weakness, I tested on CD22 (after positive OPK on CD12) and saw what I thought was a faint positive on a cheapie. I didn't even have to tilt it. The line was there! But the FRER was stark white the next morning. It was horrible. Had no idea those test were a bit dodgy!

birdbybird · 27/05/2021 20:10

@GuessHowMuch I just did a quick search for the Starts with an egg supplements. I noticed Vitamin E was on there. But my gynae told me to stop taking this .... hmmm

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 20:12

@birdbybird did she say why? I’m reading the book and just bought some today because I know it’s a good antioxidant

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/05/2021 20:12

@notyetamumbuttrying congrats on the house, and it'll be brilliant fun picking out all the extras!

My friend had just had her vaccine at the start of her second trimester - there's an increased risk of Covid placentitis even if you don't have Covid symptoms apparently. Something I'd never heard of before

MgW1 · 27/05/2021 20:12

@VixFromThe6ix
Im good thanks luv , i have had a v.v.v faint squinter so see if anything sticks , with my record , im not holding out much hope without progesterone but I am trying to get my positive head on! X

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 20:13

@KatRee sorry af turned up lovely. Def get the jab. It will be absolutely fine. I worried too so I emailed Pat O'Brien who was my consultant at UCLH and wrote the guidance on having the jab in pregnancy. It is fine both for fertility and pregnancy. The risk of the virus is far, far greater. I did feel ill for 10 days and had a temp but I had an unusually strong reaction I think because we think I had Covid last year as we went into first lockdown. Honestly, don't give it a second thought. Plenty of people are conceiving after having the jab and loads are having it in pregnancy. It's absolutely fine xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/05/2021 20:14

@WhirlingD that's horrible to get your hopes up like that. Some of the evaps are so unbelievably bad

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 20:15

Thanks @Noodella18!! How are you getting on this cycle? Xx

thislittlebird · 27/05/2021 20:19

@notyetamumbuttrying that’s exciting, when is it ready? I want to move but stuck here with this nonsense ongoing.

Like @Marvellouslymadmum when I “diet” I usually just cut right down on snacks, as well as portion control and trying to eat lower calorie meals. I wanted to run today but work and then acupuncture derailed me, I’ll try to go in the morning.

Just had a salad for dinner, with a cup of tea lol

Like @Misty84 I had my first and second jab on cd1 and cd2. Not that I’m likely to be preggers anyway 🥴

I’m very chilled after acupuncture. It’s great for that, and also seemed to fix my wonky light periods out.

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 20:19

@WhirlingD ooh are you totally sure it's not a BFP lovely? Did you test with same sample? You're urine wasn't diluted on the frer? Have you tested since? Are you TTC #1? Hope af doesn't turn up for you 🤞🏻 Mine is newly here - think it might be a bit early this month as losing lots of watery cm. don't know what else to try this next month - this whole process is so stressful. Why does it look so easy for everyone else??! Xx

Sorry to clarify my comment below, increased risk if you catch Covid when pregnant of having placentitis, even if you have no symptoms. I'm wanting to get the vaccine, booked in when I get back from my trip

💗💗💗💗 fingers and toes crossed for you!! What's your dpo now? Ah, hope it's a sticky one!!!!

I'm anxiously awaiting a call from my fertility clinic with my second blood test result.

I’ve seen reports lately of clotting in pregnancy, is this part of the same issue? I would very much rather get a vaccine (at the right time) than catching covid if pregnant.
WhirlingD · 27/05/2021 20:37

@ElsieG3m yes TTC number 1. It's a stressful business!!

I suppose it could be a positive but I just don't want to get my hopes up. I decided to wait a few days before re-testing as that way, if it's a negative, I can just move on and wait for AF!

My FSH is pretty high so I'm expecting it to be difficult. I'd be absolutely over the moon if I get a BFP. How long have you been TTC. Number 1?

birdbybird · 27/05/2021 20:43

@thislittlebird I’m not sure why the gynae said no to Vit E. I have a full bottle still. From memory She asked me why I was taking it. The bottle says E-100 I.U. d-alpha form. I said: I read it’s good. She said: I would probably stop taking. And that was it.
I’ll do more research and have another appointment in 2 weeks.

ElsieG3m · 27/05/2021 20:46

@WhirlingD yeah I totally get that lovely - it's not worth the stress and false hope if you can help it. I'm TTC #2 - extremely fortunate to have a beautiful two year old daughter who came after a real struggle (a massive stroke caused by a blood clot in previous pregnancy and 2 mcs). This time we've been trying for 4 months properly but 2 casually last year. We're having tests done as I've freaked out a bit that it's unusual for me as all three previous pregnancies I conceived 1st/2nd month. I've been incontinent and had recurrent utis since my daughter was born so suspicious of scarring/blockages hence paying for some early diagnostic tests in case there's anything obvious though suspect it's mostly age. How long have you been trying? Xx

GuessHowMuch · 27/05/2021 20:56

@MgW1 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🥰

birdbybird · 27/05/2021 21:01

@ElsieG3m how old are if you don’t mind me asking?

@WhirlingD I had my first child at 39. I had a pretty high FSH - it took me 6 months to conceive my child. In hindsight not that long but felt such a lottery at the time.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/05/2021 21:01

@MgW1 cautious congratulations 🤞🤞

@thislittlebird no it's separate to the clotting, has been found to cause placental damage which has resulted is increased still births. I don't think it's really common, but they're studying it now, and hence recommending vaccines

WhirlingD · 27/05/2021 21:02

@ElsieG3m I came off the pill at the end of last year but then I didn't ovulate for AGES so I've only really had a couple of months of proper trying.

What age are you? I'm 39 soon. I really wish I had started earlier but then I have one failed marriage behind me so I had wasted time.

You poor thing. Sounds like you've had one hell of a time of it. It's the not knowing that's the horrible thing. My mind just goes wild with every little symptom.

I've had UTIs about once a year since I was 20. Wouldn't wish them on my worse enemy. Hope you get sorted soon. X
