Well that was an ovulation tea party to remember! 💃🏼🥑🍍🥗🌮

Thanks for turning up you lovely lot and so Welcome back on board the bus where our route now takes us through the POAS early corner of shame to the “I’m gonna wait until AF is late this time” and then stopping at the fertility clinic to drop off a bunch of giggling girls going to get their foof felt up by a load of nurses and hopefully get impregnated by them! 🤞🏻

This bus is the one where TTC happens in many different forms, shagging conventionally, unconventionally, with the help of scientific intervention, IUI/ICSI/Clomid/IVF & even just watching from the top of the bus 👀. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been trying for days, weeks, months or like some of us we’ve been around each other for so long we can’t bear to leave, nothing is TMI and there’s never a silly question...

Hell we KNOW TTC is tough, lots of us have had heart ache & are chasing 🌈so we are there for each other, as well as trying to have laughs along the way 🥰☺️

Oh and we like an embarrassing story to get your ticket for entry please!

And if you see mention of my blog then blame these guys they made me do it...#shamelessplug

@paintfairy shush now I'm not having that. The good thing about more rounds EVEN if it then leads to IVF is that each time informs the next, they can tweak it, tweak the drug levels maybe. It's not your body not talking then it just wasn't all ducks in a line this time. (Or eggs?) nothing about not looking promising. Would you have said that to anyone else who got a negative first time? Nope, so I'm not having it 😘practice runs can be very informative 💓😘

Ever the optimist - could it be implantation @paintfairy?

paintfairy · 03/05/2021 09:36

@Minster2012 yeah she did say when I went that the first time is always hit and miss with the drugs. And it takes a few goes to get it right. I did think then- well you've only got 3! I had 2 bloody eggs though! You'd think one would have been ok. Having said that I think they triggered too early as the largest was only 17mm. And Google tells me 18-20mm is optional. Obviously dr Google must know? 🤣
@Haiyaa had it been before now then maybe. But likely not at 12dpo. 🤔
@Franklydear my DH usually does too! Makes life much easier. And then you are in with a good shot too!

Minster2012 · 03/05/2021 09:46

@paintfairy ahhhh see you are only thinking that Cos you know the size etc, in any "normal" month for anyone we always know that it's not easy each month or would we all still be here??? In ivf they would harvest all eggs unless they were much smaller than the "optimum" and my bigger follicles had duds in them so not sure that's much use either. All about tweaking lovely, I know it's frustrating, I've been there, so much prep then nope. But you'll get there 💓

@Franklydear go DH!! Good lad 🤣

Franklydear · 03/05/2021 09:53

@paintfairy shhhhhh! Keep those hopes down...
@Minster2012 yep, he’s most definitely not giving up on this baby, whether I get dishearten or not

Franklydear · 03/05/2021 09:59

@Minster2012 between naps, wil the next bus be ready? do you have any tittles? This one needs to be all about you, again...

MartyMcShy · 03/05/2021 10:44

Oh @Minster2012, you poor thing, what a fright you got. I'm glad to hear you're resting up now and looking after yourself.

Sorry about the bfn @paintfairy. Just had a bfn myself. Af due today and my rhr went up so stupidly got my hopes up. Must have been the wine last night watching the line of duty finale (which was v disappointing). So onto IUI now and keep everything crossed!

Sounds like your dh is great for initiating @franklydear. Wish I could say the same for mine!

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday. It's bucketing down here so it's going to be a long day indoors!

Sunbird24 · 03/05/2021 10:46

AF has arrived this morning and I’m going to sit out this month while I wait for the test results from my miscarriage to decide what to do next. Still torn between genetic testing for the 5 Frosties or just transferring another 2 and seeing what happens

Minster2012 · 03/05/2021 10:53

@Franklydear no naps here, slowing down just means no lifting DS, no pulling him on his tractor for dog walks, it doesn't mean lie on the sofa all day! Next bus def not about me, any titles welcome I'm not feeling v creative though pupdates in there

@MartyMcShy & @Sunbird24 sorry for AF, what a bugger, not watched line of duty (any of this series was saving it up to binge) but everyone saying it was disappointing.

@Sunbird24 how much would the testing cost? I'd just go for 2 next time, you still then have 3 but 2 could def just work anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any thoughts on titles

OP posts:
Haiyaa · 03/05/2021 10:54

Sorry to hear that @Sunbird24, what would be your reasons for not going ahead with the genetic testing?

So nice when DH take the initiative @Franklydear. I mean they have ONE JOB they could at least show a bit of enthusiasm 😂

Sorry about bfn @MartyMcShy, how many dpo are you?

Franklydear · 03/05/2021 10:58

@Minster2012 I guess there’s no sitting you down, how about we got a dozen black and white babies for the title ?

MartyMcShy · 03/05/2021 11:04

Sorry about af @sunbird24. It might be no harm to look into the genetic testing a bit more.

Thanks @Haiyaa. I didn't track ovulation but according to my fitbit I'm about 13 dpo. I only had the clear blue test but figured that should pick it up at this stage. I'm feeling a bit crampy so no doubt af will show now I've tested!

At my scan during the week the fertility nurse told me secondary infertility is really common, they see it a lot. I was surprised to hear that but also found it reassuring in a weird way. Like we're not alone in this. I know there are a few other ladies in the same boat/bus so just wanted to pass it on.

Sunbird24 · 03/05/2021 11:16

The testing would be £2700. They’d have to defrost them, take 5-10 cells from each blastocyst before refreezing them, and test those cells. Then if any of them look good enough to transfer they have to defrost again and they’ll only transfer one. Embryo transfer is £1200 whether they do one or two. I’m scared they’ll say they’re all rubbish and then my journey’s over. Or that they’ll say they are all fine but I could still potentially have 5 more miscarriages. It’s just going to take a leap of faith one way or another!

Franklydear · 03/05/2021 11:19

@Sunbird24 what a difficult decision, I’ll send you wisdom,

MartyMcShy · 03/05/2021 11:34

That's not an easy decision to make @sunbird24. Is there an increased risk from the double defrosting? That would be my biggest concern I think.

bez91 · 03/05/2021 11:46

@Haiyaa yes no ovulation this month judging by 21 day blood results. Good news on your temps 🤞🏼 so @Minster2012 yes the no ov cycle. Only second month of using the thermometer; I hate it too. I've told DH I won't use it again after this cycle. Glad you're feeling better, make sure you're still making DH look after you though!

@Justanothercyster oh little Doug 😂 glad he's safe and sound

@Crazydoglady123 hope all goes well today 💕

@paintfairy sorry about the bfn, that's shitty on having to go through it 3 times when the drugs aren't bloody kind to you. Hugs 🤗

@Franklydear that makes things easier for you if DH is a gem on that side of things, can he have a word with my DH? Maybe @MartyMcShy DH too?

@MartyMcShy thats kinda comforting to know about secondary fertility 😊 really
Sorry about your BFN. When will the IUI get started?

@Sunbird24 that's a really tough decision 💕 I can't offer any advice but I'm sure you'll work it out and come to the right decision for you

Franklydear · 03/05/2021 11:58

@bez91 he’s been a gem cos he has to, a few months ago I said I was done, he ask to continue but all on my back, when he realised I had skip a fw completely, he decided he needs to know my cycles and actively participate, only way to ensure I don’t just wait the few more months we agreed to keep trying doing nothing, tough but why should it all be on me?

Thinkingandblinking · 03/05/2021 12:09

@Sunbird24 You have to make the right decision for you, but my experience of pgs is a negative one, I had mine defrosted for the test and one was lost, I then got mosaic results, which meant they could have been ok, but my clinic didn’t transfer mosaic embryos. All in all a lot of money and none the wiser. So I guess I am negative about it, someone who it worked for might be really positive!

Crazydoglady123 · 03/05/2021 12:11

Thanks everyone. Back home and feeling okay. More sleepy than anything else. I did wake up on the last bit of collection but they were basically done so I can live with that. 12 eggs collected (would have been 14 but they lost two 🤷🏽‍♀️). They'll be fertilised by ICSI this afternoon and we'll be updated tomorrow

paintfairy · 03/05/2021 12:16

@Sunbird24 that's a really tough call. I'm not sure there is a right answer. It's a really difficult place to be in.
@MartyMcShy my rhr has actually gone back up 1 today. Not that it is relevant. 🤣 But maybe i need to stop looking at it. As for IUI, no comment. 😆
It's now chucking it down here too. Typical bank holiday weather! 🤣🤣

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/05/2021 12:39

@Crazydoglady123 glad all went well, bit scary that you woke up tho! Did you feel anything? I guess they lost 2 in the extraction? Is that a common thing do you know? Glad you're feeling ok. Have they definitely said they'll use icsi then?

Minster2012 · 03/05/2021 12:46

@paintfairy it's just another thing to obsess over isn't it and one that's definitely one of the "less reliable" things, like I get that BBT can be good and confirm ovulation so can be more reliable, but I think RHR is less so personally. Let's hope you can go again on this cycle, stay strong I know the constant drugs are awful

@Sunbird24 it's really tough, my clinic says to be frozen an embryo had to be of a certain high quality to survive the thaw, whereas in a fresh transfer the "level down" is deemed good enough to transfer so personally for the cost of doing all frozen transfers instead (especially as you can do 2 at once) personally I would choose not to test & just transfer, when my transfer was cancelled due to not surviving the thaw I was crushed. I'd rather have some hope I think and even knowing "this one is the top quality one" after testing still doesn't mean it will be the one that's positive. So I personally would rather go in positively about all of them IYSWIM?

@Crazydoglady123 12 eggs is brilliant news!! Sometimes follicles are empty so it's pretty normal to have a couple maybe not come out but that's so good!! Now the totally nerve wracking bit I found 😬xx

@paintfairy chucking it down here too, but we walked dogs in time so @Franklydear we've made cakes (DH calls them buns?) without egg as DS allergic the food colouring was meant to be red?!!

The nurse impregnated me when DH wasn’t there 🤞🏻😱TTC bus 39

paintfairy · 03/05/2021 12:51

@Minster2012 yes we luckily got everything done before it came! I did see it forecast. And I think the drugs are the hardest bit really. The rest wasn't that bad.
@Crazydoglady123 I kind of wondered how they got them out. Do they use anaesthetic then? And lost 2? As in 2 were no good so they binned them or they dropped them on the floor and couldn't find them? 😮 It sounds good though (apart from that).

Franklydear · 03/05/2021 12:54

@Minster2012 I’ve given up in food colouring, why doesn’t it work? We’ve done banana bread yesterday,
We were promised rain all day, so of course it’s sunny and much nicer than yesterday( when we did lots of outdoor activities as it would rain today)
