Hey everyone

We're ttc on cycle 2, I'm normally on a 25-28 day cycle but on CD31 now and nothing, I did a test this evening but was negative, going to try again in the morning

I'm never this late so not sure what's going on😓 anyone else late but negative test?

@surreychick good luck for tomorrow x
Also you’ve IVF coming up! I know it’s so tough and not how we imagined it being, but look at all of the IVF success stories. I see them with a couple of friends who have their IVF babies also.
You never know what tomorrow’s test will be either. My fingers are crossed for you x

@choccrumpet it’s a huge disappointment of course you’re devastated.
Please don’t think this won’t ever happen for you though. On the positives, you get pregnant quickly and often, and there must be something they can do after the tests like progesterone suppositories or baby aspirin etc which will work for you.
I get the panic that it won’t even happen though, because I feel like that also sometimes. It’s hard to put another positive spin on things for yourself after feeling let down and low

choccrumpet · 08/03/2021 09:45

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes that is a positive. I took baby aspirin this cycle and that may be what has helped me get a week past when my period was due (don't know if that's a good or bad thing). I'll probably try it again next cycle. My doctor can't prescribe progesterone so I don't know what to do there, I'm waiting for a fertility referral but that may take months still. Does the EPU prescribe anything like that?

Otherwise I'm a bit stuck with what I have and can just keep trying. I wish there was more research done about this. It's shocking that there isn't more information or help out there about early losses.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/03/2021 10:38

@choccrumpet I really don't know, I wonder if you're better off setting up a thread asking about this specific thing to get advice from people who have been through it before. Otherwise a private GP might be willing to prescribe it or be more helpful, or a private fertility doctor.

I am actually saving to go private if nothing happens for me in the next month or two, just to get some investigations as I'm over 35. If you are planning this also, it may be worth getting a copy of your medical tests and notes and scans etc, so you can show the doctor and not have to pay to get the scans redone

choccrumpet · 08/03/2021 11:01

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks I'll need to think about what I want to do.

I'm 28 so I'm still hopeful or maybe in denial that it will happen naturally when the time is right but after 4 losses my perception of when enough should be enough is a bit skewed. Probably more so because there is so little information about early losses. Are they different to later losses, are they more common and just not spoken about, I don't know. That's a good tip so I'll keep that in mind if we choose to go that way. I hope things work out for you before then x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/03/2021 11:24

@choccrumpet you do have more time. Not that that's a consolation when you are experiencing disappointment and stress every month.

I've heard that chemicals are very common, about 50% of all pregnancies but most people aren't aware. But I wouldn't think that four in a row would be normal though, and think they should investigate why.

EPU said to me that 1st trimester miscarriages are very common and every day, and about 1 in 4 pregnancies end this way. It did make me feel better knowing its something that happens a lot.

surreychick · 08/03/2021 23:30

Just went to the loo and there is pinkish blood there... I’m guessing that might be the start of my period although it isn’t normally like that?!

mimimi2018 · 09/03/2021 03:01

aww crap sorry to hear,
dont give up! ive had negative resluts untill i was almost 2 and a half months pregnant with my 1st, we were ttc, late period and negative results every symtopm! hcg levels are different too all us women!

mimimi2018 · 09/03/2021 03:06

ttc with my 2nd child, ive recently had a chemicle pregnacy at 3 weeks before my BFP, light pinkish lasted 2 days and a half about , .. it can be implantation bleeding spotting as i had before my chemicle! i would test if it lasts a couple days :) usually you get a bfp around after implantation:)! ( some women expeience implantation bleeding)not all:)

surreychick · 09/03/2021 06:35

I think it’s too late for implantation bleeding now unfortunately.

I can’t believe how common chemical pregnancies are.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/03/2021 08:08

Morning Surrey, hope you’re okay. If it’s not period, might be worth going to Drs. V confusing.

Mimi 2.5 months! Wow.

I’ve nothing going on here, ten days late now. Still bloating lower stomach but that’s it

mimimi2018 · 09/03/2021 13:00

oh yes i know i was confused at the same time as 2.5 months, should of had our bfp (shocker) ! good luck to you ladies . Hopeing for the best for everyone , also ttc with 2nd as also trying to get over my mc latley! 🤞🤞🤞

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/03/2021 13:47

Sorry to hear that Mimi 😥

Good luck for your second one also!

choccrumpet · 09/03/2021 16:29

@surreychick how are you now? Has the bleeding progressed?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 did you do a pregnancy test today? It's frustrating not knowing!

I took a test today to check that it's gone negative and it's come out with a line slightly darker than last time.. it looks like it's got some colour to it but again wondering if it's an evap / faulty test? I'll check again in the morning but at this point it's a proper period bleed so I'm not really sure why I'm still getting a faint result. Even if it was still a positive and progressing, surely the line would be darker by now

Hi Choc, I've got no experience with this or those tests but didn't want to read and not reply. Gosh that's confusing. I don't know - maybe if you call your GP, say positive tests, and some bleeding now and see if they'll refer you to EPU to be checked out?

surreychick · 09/03/2021 16:43

Hi all

Bleeding hasn’t progressed so just off for my bloods now.

@choccrumpet what tests are these? I’ve not seen them before - does that one line usually indicate pregnant?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/03/2021 16:45

I forgot to test when I got up this morning, will do it tomorrow or Thursday (now I've waited this long). I feel like period is coming though. I have been checking my cervix daily (thanks for that, its actually pretty easy) and still high, softish and closed. HOWEVER also had ewcm today, so I've no clue what's up with me

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/03/2021 16:45

@surrey - best of luck!

choccrumpet · 09/03/2021 17:26

They're the One Step tests, got a pack of 50 from Amazon but a lot of the strips I looked at had really mixed reviews, including this brand, so I think it's not quite right. Will wait and test again tomorrow morning and if it shows another line then I'll call my GP. There is a faint line between the left side of the test and where the dark control line is @surreychick , think it's most likely false or an evap

@surreychick good luck!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that must be so confusing! Very strange. Might be worth getting bloods done if you still have no answers in a few days.

I cancelled my blood test that I had booked for this Friday as I started bleeding so hope I get a negative tomorrow so there's no questions about it

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/03/2021 17:34

I saw the faint line, but I've no idea how they're meant to look for this brand. Try again tomorrow, and if its still a faint line, try another test.

Surrey - let us know how you get on, but I'm hopeful for you

surreychick · 09/03/2021 20:22

Thanks all - lovely to find a small group that’s supportive.

I have a minute amount of blood this afternoon but I have to really look for it - last night it was pink and tonight brown so really could be anything.

I’ll know tomorrow either way as blood test will at least be definitive. The nurse asked how I felt and I said I felt fine so honestly didn’t think I was pregnant!

@choccrumpet are you going to talk to your GP about everything? Have you had any tests done yet?

choccrumpet · 09/03/2021 20:54

@surreychick that sounds positive, hopefully the bloods are good news! Yes it has helped so much speaking to you all. I'm finding this journey quite lonely. I've no friends who are going through this and even though I speak to them they can't empathise properly and don't understand. My partner is very supportive but again he's not a female who has been through this!

I've kept my GP up to date but she's not very knowledgable in this area so am finding that I am asking about tests and things to do rather than her suggesting what to do. So she's referred me for the pelvic ultrasound which is next week and to the fertility clinic but the wait time is unknown. Basic bloods showed nothing so as far as I understand there is nothing else she can do! I'm considering getting a private progesterone prescription potentially for this cycle but am waiting to see what the ultrasound shows.

surreychick · 09/03/2021 21:22

@choccrumpet I know exactly what you mean. My friends had no problems getting pregnant. I don’t hold out much hope for the blood test but at least it will give me an answer either way.

Have you had a progesterone blood test? GP should do that. You have to do it on certain days of your cycle.

We ended up going private to do husbands sperm test as the wait list was so long on NHS. If we want IVF we need to private anyway. All our savings will be gone but I know it will be worth it if it works.

choccrumpet · 09/03/2021 21:45

@surreychick no I haven't actually and wasn't sure if I needed that done before I got a prescription. My GP said I had to get it done 7 days before my period was due but that's assuming I ovulated on CD14, I wasn't able to track my peak last cycle so not sure I'll be able to this cycle either. Might be worth finding out about this but unsure they can be flexible to accommodate my dates as they only do bloods 2 days a week. I've read that progesterone might support a pregnancy but also doesn't hurt so assumed I didn't need to get mine checked but could be wrong.

It must be really difficult for you, I hope it works out in the end

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/03/2021 07:55
