TTC baby number 1 - late period negative test

Hey everyone

We're ttc on cycle 2, I'm normally on a 25-28 day cycle but on CD31 now and nothing, I did a test this evening but was negative, going to try again in the morning

I'm never this late so not sure what's going on😓 anyone else late but negative test?

Sadly for me CB are not jinxed, I'll probably pee on a fortune more of them, and then get my period anyway. Need to buy some cheapies, or I'm at least waiting til the weekend to test again (should I need to!)

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 nothing! Had period like cramps last night but they went away and nothing this morning. My cervix is still high and soft and I believe it's meant to be low and open before period which it isn't. Still crossing my fingers.

I'm expecting my period to arrive today if I ovulated late and it pushed my luteal phase back but it's just a guess. 6 days late today and still testing negative

What about you?

@Gspps I think similar to you, and it’s not knowing why that is making me feel a bit stressed. Which then prob isn’t helping the situation! Nothing here. Extremely bloated and lots of cm still, just feeling a bit bleugh

I've never checked my cervix, been a bit scared too! How do you do it abs do you find it easy ?

@Gspps I've only been checking mine recently so am still getting to know mine. It's pretty easy, there's a few different ways of doing it so I recommend looking it up online. I find squatting on the floor on tiptoes and leaning back the easiest but it different for everyone.

I had this with my first.

Missed period and negative tests. Then got a very strong positive test around 4 weeks after my period had been due with no period in between.

I didn't have a clue how far along I was but my due date put my ovulation at around the point I should have had my period.

Not sure it's it's medically possible but I think the stress of TTC had actually delayed my ovulation.

@zzzebra that's interesting! Did you get any blood test done before you found out?

I thought I was pretty chilled out this month, I think my chemical last month pushed my ovulation to be later but I couldn't confirm that. I have read lots of stories about testing positive a week or more after your period was due so am quietly hoping that might be the case. I've got bloods booked in a weeks time in case it still hasn't showed up

I didn't get any blood tests. My GP didn't want to know until I'd missed 3 periods in a row or been unsuccessful in conceiving for over a year. I'd been trying for about 6 months.

I was doing ovulation strips up until the missed period and although I got a line it was never particularly strong.

Just incase I'd say make sure you're still having regular sex. If I'd admitted defeat for that month and taken a break from regular sex I probably wouldn't have fallen pregnant.

@Gspps you won't know what you're feeling for at first so don't be concerned. You will learn the more you do it. Read up about it online. I'm still getting to know mine during different parts of my cycle so I by no means know exactly what I'm doing!

@zzzebra I'm sorry it sounds like you didn't have a good experience with your GP, but glad things did work out for you. Definitely something to keep in mind. Our cycles are a minefield, so difficult to understand what's going on at times!

@Gspps yes I am appreciating having you guys in the same boat, and the updates. Its really on my mind, and I don't want to bore friends with it!

The bloating is really getting me down, I can't fit in any clothes that aren't really stretchy

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 if you can, wear clothes that fit and are comfortable at least for the time being to help you feel a bit better. Doesn't matter what size you are, it's how you feel about yourself 🤗 easier said than done of course. I've been living in tracksuit bottoms for the past year wfh and haven't worn "real clothes" in a long time

I've got no friends who are going through this so it makes it really tough. This helps but it's not the same, but it does help and I'm thankful for that.

Little update I've just had light pink blood when wiping (tmi sorry) I guess this could be the start of period I'll let you know, on CD 35 atm x

A little update, my symptoms stepped up a notch tonight, a little breathless, mild cramping, something like lightning crotch, really bad body odour (🤢 I never smell but have been for the past few weeks, I've put 2 and 2 together and realised I started noticing bad body odour around the time of my ovulation/ possible conception and this is a pregnancy sign), hormonal acne on my chin is not going away as it normally would, high soft closed cervix... I thought I saw an extremely faint line on a test tonight but it's super super light / barely existent so will test again tomorrow morning. Am hopeful but also trying to stay realistic

Hey guys I'm in the same position, came off the pill 2 months ago, had 2 26 days cycles since and now on CD29 and nothing but blazing BFN's .... not sure what's going on, pains in boobs but nothing else !

@ploopypleepy when I first came off the pill my cycles were a bit all over the place, had a few short ones and one or 2 longer ones. It could be your body getting used to the changes. Hopefully you'll find out one way or another soon!

Update on me, another negative test, not a hint of a line. Cycle day 36.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 to be honest my faint line could be imaginary. I want it enough to imagine seeing it 😓 let's see what tomorrow brings us both
