TTC baby number 1 - late period negative test

Hey everyone

We're ttc on cycle 2, I'm normally on a 25-28 day cycle but on CD31 now and nothing, I did a test this evening but was negative, going to try again in the morning

I'm never this late so not sure what's going on😓 anyone else late but negative test?

@surreychick I'm so sorry that your journey has been so difficult, you're so tough to keep going as you are. We've been trying for 7 months and its not the longest time it's still been a shock and not something I ever expected.

I'm also very jealous that it happens so easily for others and and I can't help but feel frustrated that others don't talk about their ttc journeys and how hard they are because it paints an unrealistic picture of it happening so easily for others when in fact that probably isn't the case. But of course I also understand that it can be difficult to talk about too.

@choccrumpet thank you so much! Yeah that's what I'm trying to do, just look forward to the next cycle! You're right probably a good way to look at it🥰 I hope you feel a bit better and you get some answers x I've just had a chill day and trying not to think about it all too much and planning to try and do that the whole time as it's not been fun so far 😭

I was doing a little bit of ttc research 🤦🏽‍♀️ a way of thinking positively about it rather than stressing and worrying. Has anyone tried conceive plus lubricant? X

@Gspps you're just right, try to make the best of it as much as you can!

I haven't tried conceive plus but I have tried preseed, are they a similar thing? I found the preseed a bit tricky to use, a bit messy as it has to go inside you rather than a normal lubricant. I had chemicals during the cycles I did use it so it may have helped me conceive, it doesn't hurt to use it anyways.

Ttc is so hard because there’s so little we can control. Haven’t tried proseed, but probably will for next cycle, however unsexy it is! Also plan for SMEP again, and debating soy isoflavones but a bit scared of messing up my cycle more.
I’ve still three weeks to go give or take until next period is due

Morning, I did a few tests this morning (🙄) and most again are negative apart from frer which may have the faintest of lines but I'm not really sure if I can really see it.. have a blood test on Friday so at least I can get the answers soon after then if my testing doesn't show anything. I was beginning to get my hopes up but now I'm really unsure again. This is so tough, so up and down mood wise and mentally 😔

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it sounds like you're doing the right things but you're right you could be doing all the right things or all the wrong things and your body is still going to do what it wants to do

@choccrumpet how late are you now?

If you ovulated late, when’s the last time it was possible before your period?

I figured out last time I had sex was 25th Feb, so I’m next going to test 12 days past this and see.

You have faint lines though! Do you have a picture of them?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 was due last Saturday on CD29 so am 9 days late today if I count the day my period was due as day 1 late 😔 i think you are a day or 2 ahead of me

@choccrumpet I think we are actually bang on the same, because I’m 8 days late, but counting the day after my period was due as the 1st day

My guess is I may have ovulated on the 20th feb at the latest (but this is only a good guess) so that means today is 15 days after that. I could have ovulated before then or after too so I really have no idea as my OPKs didn't show a peak.

Here's a pic but honestly there's barely anything in there, I can see something super super faint only in certain light so I'm taking it as a negative right now..

I’m rubbish at seeing lines, to me it looks like one of the supersquinter threads though where others can see.

I didn’t have a peak either and stopped testing after CD 20. However I did have EWCM appearing throughout the 2WW, and even right up to 2 days before period. So maybe we were both much later than we would have thought

@choccrumpet it’s so funny we are the same! I’m okay thanks. Trying to just ignore it now, and although I’ve got a box of two frers I’m okay not testing til much later because I’m sick of seeing neg results.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 maybe but it's so hard to tell and at this point I imagine lines because I want it to be there so badly so I'm not sure.

I had ewcm around CD20 and stopped testing then too as it wasn't getting any darker but yeah I may have ovulated later due to my chemical last cycle, there's no other reason for late ovulation, I wasn't stressed or ill or on medication. I'm so impatient I just want to know! Have you done any tests or are you waiting?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah you've just answered my question! I'm also tired of seeing negatives but I can't stop testing either. I'm okay, a bit frustrated today as I thought I'd finally see a second line this morning. I know I don't feel normal so that's what's frustrating me even more. Going to try distract myself today, go on a walk. Fed up of seeing negatives for past 7 months

@choccrumpet it’s def possible your chemical wld throw things out esp if you didn’t get a pos opk.

Waiting.... last test was on Friday. Will test against on Tuesday at I think that’s 12 days

Yes go for a walk, and get your partner to spoil you today. Have a lovely dinner tonight, watch a film. I’m meeting a friend later for some exercise and otherwise getting into a good box set and book

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 you're so good to wait to test. I can't even think about how much money I've spent on tests, I've just ordered a few more and want to space them out and only use what I have for the rest of this cycle.

That sounds nice, I'll be doing the same today (as is the norm for every day off nowadays 😅). I find it so hard to think about anything else though, this is constantly on my mind, can't even concentrate on work, would rather have all my focus on this than anything else.

@choccrumpet I’m still so bloated and had another upset stomach this morning, now feeling sick and sorry for myself. Also not feeling quite right

I know, there’s so much less we can do at the moment to take our minds off things !

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I had a day like that recently so know how you feel. Do what you can to make yourself feel better, treat yourself if you can. They could all be symptoms..

Sorry to hear you've got no answers ladies it's so frustrating 😢 but I've read people miss a cycle so maybe you're ovulating again soon? Keep trying
Af in full swing here just looking forward to next fertile period I guess, so I've bought conceive plus which is different to pre seed and has really good reviews ! So fingers crossed xx

@Gspps hope you're feeling okay and taking some time for yourself. To be honest I'm mentally not ready to let go of this missed period yet so I'm going to wait until my bloods to get an answer and if it's a negative then consider this just a random missed period then.

Like I said, I can't stop testing. I used my cheap strips and I can see a faint line but really hard to tell if it's an evap or has colour to it. Any ideas?

@choccrumpet that's deffo a positive, I had a molar pregnancy a few months ago and that's what my cheapies
