Hey everyone

We're ttc on cycle 2, I'm normally on a 25-28 day cycle but on CD31 now and nothing, I did a test this evening but was negative, going to try again in the morning

I'm never this late so not sure what's going on😓 anyone else late but negative test?

Hi All

Came across the thread and glad to see I’m not the only one!

TTC now for 18 months and been told we will most likely need IVF now.

I’m now 7 days late and have done three pregnancy tests - all negative. No other massive symptoms - all could be other things I.e reflux...

Never heard of body odour being a symptom? I don’t normally have a problem but last few weeks I’ve noticed it’s been worse?!?

I keep feeling like I’ve got my period, all the feels down there but no blood! I’ll probably get it tomorrow now I’ve written this! I’ve never missed a period yet and haven’t been on birth control for a very long time!

choccrumpet · 05/03/2021 22:11

@surreychick I'm so glad you've mentioned body odour so I don't feel so alone 😅 google says this about body odour in early pregnancy

"Hormonal changes - Increased quantities of the hormone estradiol is what heightens your sense of smell, and it's what makes your body produce a strong smell. The main areas affected are your genitals and armpits. That could be why you feel offended by your own body odor."

My underarms have smelled so badly the past few weeks I actually changed deodorants because I thought it was that but now thinking it has to be hormonal and has never happened before!

I also think I'm feeling something pass like start of my period but there is nothing there when I check.

There's lots of stories online of women only testing positive a week or more after their period was due. It's frustrating as the normal is hearing about big fat positive lines before your period is due and that's not the case! So is nice to hear about the other side too. Your signs sound positive!

surreychick · 05/03/2021 22:19

It would be amazing if I was positive - we’ve been trying for so long and literally about to press the button on IVF but I don’t want to get my hopes up. I’ve never gone to the loo so often just to check haha

That’s really reassuring about not testing positive until after a week late. Will pick up more tests tomorrow!

choccrumpet · 05/03/2021 22:23

I hope it will be a positive one for you! I feel the same, any slight feeling down there and I have to check. It's an obsession! I've got a hcg blood test booked in a weeks time in case I still don't get my period by then. Fingers crossed for us!

surreychick · 05/03/2021 22:25

Did you book that at the GP?

choccrumpet · 05/03/2021 22:33

@surreychick yes although I spoke to the nurse and not my GP, not sure if that makes a difference but it will be at my GP surgery

surreychick · 05/03/2021 22:38

Will talk to them if nothing after the weekend!

Good luck to you!! Fingers crossed AF doesn’t appear!!

Private hcg blood tests don’t look too expensive either if you can’t get one in good time from GP. My GP probably won’t be too helpful right now so I had a look.

Funny you both mention this, I’ve noticed a few times I smell a bit more musky, and had to freshen up again a few hours after a shower. Also wee has had an odour as well.

How pleasant! Blush

pixiedust21 · 05/03/2021 23:20

Weirdly I didn't get a positive til I was about 10 days late!! (Unless I just ovulated really late) but up until then I was getting negatives x

choccrumpet · 06/03/2021 08:28

Morning, negatives over here 😅 maybe a veeeery faint line on a cheap one but it's so faint I can barely see it / or it's not a line at all. I actually feel okay and relaxed about this, I know this isn't normal for me so am hopeful it's good news but is just taking its time

surreychick · 06/03/2021 10:52

Still nothing here, getting more tests today.

Maybe TMI but have a weird tingly feeling down there - I normally get it the day before my period but I’ve had it for a week or so now - hence why I keep thinking I have it!!

Would just be nice to know one way or another!!

choccrumpet · 06/03/2021 10:59

@surreychick the tingly feeling could be lightning crotch or your uterus or something else stretching! I've felt it during my chemicals and also this time. Yep am getting tired of no answers!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/03/2021 11:11

@pixiedust21 I’m kind of losing hope now! Don’t feel anything, and wasting money peeing on sticks!! Will wait a few more days, a week late now

surreychick · 06/03/2021 15:40

Hello all,

Just tested again and it was negative Hmm

Day 38 now... starting to lose hope!!

choccrumpet · 06/03/2021 15:47

@surreychick don't lose hope! I can't stop testing and have also had negatives. I did check the cheap Tesco one I used this morning and it had another line but was hard to tell if it was a real blue line or grey (evap). I'm going to use a frer tomorrow morning as I'm wondering if the cheap strips aren't working - the reviews for them were mixed. If the line on the Tesco one was real then the line should show up elsewhere too.

Don't lose hope! Like I said there are lots of women who test positive weeks after their period was due and this is what's keeping me going.

pixiedust21 · 06/03/2021 18:05

I was day 40-something when I tested positive, I ended up assuming I wasn't pregnant and just having a super long cycle, left it for about 4 days then tested and got a positive. X

choccrumpet · 06/03/2021 18:15

@pixiedust21 do you know why you didn't get a positive earlier? Getting a bit tired of seeing negatives when I know I'm not feeling normal, making me doubt myself!

pixiedust21 · 06/03/2021 18:20

@choccrumpet no idea, i guess it is possible I ovulated a lot later than usual but really not sure. I was taking pregnacare vitamins which I then read can actually extend your cycle so was sure it was that, and kind of got sick of testing so just assumed I wasn't and was waiting for period.

pixiedust21 · 06/03/2021 18:20

It's awful being in limbo and not knowing either way!

Grognonne · 06/03/2021 18:43

I had this three times whilst ttc. Once it went to over 50 days and I always have a 28 day cycle. I think sometimes when you want it so much your body plays tricks on you. When I went to see the doctor about it, they said it could be down to that as stress can affect things.

Gspps · 06/03/2021 19:04

Update - it's my period guess I was just stressing myself out and af was taking a while to arrive 😢 feeling a bit meh, wish I could just fall pregnant straight away but as we know not as easy as that

How's everyone else doing? Any updates ?x

ploopypleepy · 06/03/2021 19:35

@Gspps still nothing from me .... negative test yesterday. Only 3 days late though but don't feel like it's coming if you know what I mean

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/03/2021 19:38

Noooo sorry Gspps. That’s a real shame 🙁 I know the feeling.

No updates from me at all. I’m wondering if it’ll be like Grognone says, and my cycle’s just gone awry. Going to take a break from testing and just wait a few days and see

choccrumpet · 06/03/2021 19:39

@Gspps that sucks but at least it's finally here and you can get back to trying again. It's so hard! Just doesn't seem fair that it happens so easily for others. But I try to believe that when it will happen it will be the best timing for me and the other times weren't meant to be for a reason.

No update with me, feeling tired all day and not like my normal self so would be nice to have a reason for this.

Take care of yourself and try to focus and do things that make you happy. We should try enjoy this time as much as we can - although easier said than done and I can say that my ttc experience hasn't been nice and I don't get it, don't believe it when others say it was so easy and so much fun, good experience etc 🤷🏼‍♀️

surreychick · 06/03/2021 20:15

@Gspps sorry to hear that

@choccrumpet my journey hasn’t been fun at all! I can’t help but feel so jealous of those that fall pregnant so easily. I wasn’t expecting to have to go through this for 18 months then have to go through IVF. I’ve seen so many negatives test I don’t think I’ll believe it if it ever goes positive!!!
