The Ferti-Lily

Hey,

So... this is month 24 of TTC and I've just invested in a ferti lily! 😂 it's last resort before turning to science!

So long story short, I have 2 DC from a previous relationship. I have been trying for 2 years for another as my new partner doesn't have any and obviously I would love another one. I have had all tests etc and I have been diagnosed with a blood disorder which hopefully will be sorted with Asprin. I have had 2 chemical pregnancies along the way.

DP has low mobility hence trying the ferti lily!

So my question is.. has anyone else been using this?

@suzy124 sometimes just for around half and hour sometimes a couple of hours depending what I'm doing, maybe you're just sensitive who knows!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 14/04/2021 12:35

Thanks all. I hope you're well. In trying not to test again now until AF is due. I literally get a spot in the morning that's all. Very odd.

MummyT13 · 14/04/2021 18:00

@Marvellouslymadmum I am not of month 26 of TTC and i go through the same stages every month!
Days 1-7 - Upset because I have AF
Days 7-14 - excited because I get to try again
Days 14-21 - slightly excited because it may happen
Days 21 - 28/30 - Depressed because all tests are BFN!!

You are definitely not alone! I keep going round in circles 🤷🏻‍♀️ I tell myself I'm not gonna think about it and then I just can't stop thinking about it...

People say it like it's easy "just relax" it's not like giving up smoking or drinking when you can walk away and distract yourself! Unfortunately wherever I go my reproductive system follows me!! So it really is impossible to "relax" or "don't think about it"

Blush I'm really feeling it now.. so that's my rant! But I just wanted to let you all know... you're not alone! Xx

@MummyT13

That sums it up perfectly!

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/04/2021 19:12

@MummyT13 that's exactly it, I get cross with myself when I have those low sulky days and I get even more cross when I let myself get my hopes up toward the end of the month only to be let down again! You'd think by now someone would invent an easier way of knowing what's going on in there!

MummyT13 · 14/04/2021 19:34

@PurpleUnicorn01 @Marvellouslymadmum - I feel every day of the pain all of you lovely ladies go through!

I really wish I could do my own investigations 😂 like... take my own bloods, do my own ultrasounds etc! I have had 6 ultrasounds (All clear by the way) and have had 4 thrombophillia screenings 🤨 when my doctor calls me.. I tell them what levels are normal for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ultimately I just wish there was was an instantaneous way of getting us all a BFP xx

@MummyT13 perhaps us Mumsnetters should all get together and open our own fertility clinic, we've probably got enough knowledge between us 😂

MummyT13 · 14/04/2021 20:01

@Marvellouslymadmum my Other half said that when I explained to him how to do his sperm sample step by step and then proceeded to explain how the sperm meets the egg (or not in our case) and how it's fertilised and implantation etc.. think I went on for about 2 hours! 😂🤣 I must've been having a hormonal day! X

@MummyT13 I reckon we probably know more than some docs about this subject! I reckon I could totally give a lecture 😂 was your oh impressed?

MummyT13 · 18/04/2021 01:07

@Marvellouslymadmum not sure impressed was the words he was looking for! However... if he ever needs to have the birds and the bees chat then I think he knows.. 😂 how you feeling now? X

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/04/2021 12:26

@MummyT13 I'm not too bad thank you, cd9 and still getting low on the opk, used the fertilily this morning and totally messed it up as it wouldn't go it properly 🤦🏼‍♀️ sometimes I wonder if I'm just making things worse with it! How about you?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 18/04/2021 12:30

Hi Guys, i hope you're well. AF arrived yesterday. Can't say im too surprised lol.

And we should definitely open our own advice line.

MummyT13 · 19/04/2021 07:52

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm CD9 today but just not feeling it this month. I also wondered if I was making it worse using the fertilily because when I pulled it out last month.. everything came out with it and then I was wondering if I had put it in properly.

I've got a sore throat and bad cough at the moment too which is getting worse after a week and not better so if lost my urge to do anything today. Luckily it's not Covid because I have to get tested every couple of weeks for that anyway. But.. where did the common cold and flu go? If you cough or say you can't taste something now then it's automatically Covid 🤣😂

PurpleUnicorn01 · 19/04/2021 13:46

@MummyT13 hope you feel better soon.

I don't know if this helps anyone but Maca Root is supposed to be great for sperm count and motility.

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/04/2021 09:28

@PurpleUnicorn01 sorry af arrived, onward and upward to the next month!

@MummyT13 I'm cd11 today and still getting low on the opk I usually use the fertiliy every other time we dtd that way I'm giving it a good go both ways! Re the Covid thing, I have really bad asthma, which comes with a cough and phlegmy chest most of the time but when I go out I'm constantly paranoid about coughing so people don't think I have Covid 🤦🏼‍♀️ hope you fell better soon

SLCxxx · 24/04/2021 10:40

Hi ladies 👋🏻

I’m CD2 and I’ve just bought my Ferti-lily and was looking at reviews and found this thread. And omg it has had me in stitches with some of your descriptions and sounds of removal 🤣🤣 so hoping it’s okay to join your group and document my journey with the ‘plunger’ 🙈

Ttc is thoroughly shte and just probably like all of us on here I go through that exactly month cycle each month @MummyT13* DH doesn’t get it, friends do get it.. but how could they aye? Plus I deliver babies for a living so not sure how I’m meant to ‘relax and not think about’ lol 🤷🏼‍♀️

@suzy124 @Sydney1986x what is SI? I’m literally up for anything that can help lol

@Marvellouslymadmum 👋🏻 Think we are on another group together, hope your okay and holding on there 💕

Wishing you all luck (and fun) 🤞🏻

MummyT13 · 24/04/2021 10:55

@SLCxxx Welcome to the club! Always nice to have a new member ☺️ how you feeling this month? I'm around ovulation time I think! Not 100% sure as this is my first cycle of "not thinking about it" but still really thinking about it 😂 but I've stopped with the OPK for this month and it's so weird because I'm so unused to peeing on something now 🤣😂 probably just gonna get loads of wooden sticks just to watch the colour change just to make me feel more at home 🤣!

Anyway.. welcome to the crazy club where nothing is too weird or embarrassing to talk about! 😉 x

@slcxxx welcome! Yes we all share in your pain lol

SLCxxx · 24/04/2021 19:33

@MummyT13 @PurpleUnicorn01 thanks lovelies 💕

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/04/2021 20:35

Hi @SLCxxx we are indeed on another thread together! I'm doing ok thank you just got my peak opk today so hopefully lots of dtd haha how are you?

SLCxxx · 28/04/2021 13:58

@Marvellouslymadmum, oh wow, I’m assuming your in your TWW now.. what day are you on? I’m okay, hopeful the fertility-lily works! I’m only on CD6 and usually ovulate between 15-21.. so have abit of a wait, lol. Are you still using the cup?

Has anyone ever had their partner just finish in the cup and insert it so the cervix is sitting in it? TMI I know but I’ve read lots of reviews and things ppl have done (including warming it up in your hands for a couple of minutes 🤣). IDK, think I’m getting desperate

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 16:01

@SLCxxx I am in the dreaded tww I think 3dpo but my apps are confused 😂 I got my peak Saturday so think I've happened Sunday. I did use the fertilily one out of the two times we dtd in the fw 🙄 but don't hold out much hope as last time was Thursday due to oh not feeling well.

We haven't tried that, though I've seen people say about doing it - looks quite shallow to do that though, plus you're supposed to put it in inside out so wouldn't you lose it all? 🙈

SLCxxx · 28/04/2021 16:51

@Marvellouslymadmum as a midwife I can honestly say that the fact that the cup is shallow is perfect for the cervix 🤣 it should sit right in it if it’s in the right place.. just have to figure out how to get it in without spilling! I’m also going to coat it in a little preseed before each use! I’ll let you know how I get on 😂 but hopefully you will already have your BFP by then! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻I hate it when you don’t manage to DTD much in the FW, you kinda have no hope.. but every hope 🤦🏼‍♀️

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 16:57

@SLCxxx I was thinking more along the line of it being difficult to get his sample in without any splash back 😂 not really an issue for my oh as he's a dribbler lol please do let me know how you get on though will be very interesting to know! I got so frustrated with him but at the same time I do understand just infuriating

MummyT13 · 28/04/2021 18:08

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies... I also ovulated Saturday @Marvellouslymadmum given up this month but needed people to chat to! So I was investigated for 4 MC after 2 successful DC... one of my blood levels was too high so was put on Asprin and had test repeated then when repeated it was fine so they said this wasn't the cause. Got a letter today from the consultant saying taking Asprin will give me the baby I am longing for and he has referred me back to my GP... sounds like he has given up too! 🙄
