I've spent the last week craving salami and eating quite a lot of it because I read it was fine to eat and now I'm reading that its not because of risk of toxo. Now I'm panicking 😫

I'm just carrying up on a couple of days chat - Friday night toddler decided to be awake for 4 hours so yesterday I was a zombie. Managed to caffeine myself and looked more like pre lockdown me with nice hair and make up for v-day dinner and the obligatory 🍆🍆🍆

@lucyrp don't worry too much, its a small risk, but you can eat it heated up like in pizza, I do it with chorizo, a bit of cheese in a sandwich and 20 seconds in the microwave and that'll be fine

@Franklydear I've been eating it raw straight from the packet in the fridge. Just bought another huge pack of it this morning now I can't eat it 😭

@Haiyaa did good BDing in the FW, managed to get DH to perform Friday and Saturday (he's not usually one for back to back days) and I think I ovulated late Thursday.

So we'll see. AF is due next weekend - kind of good to not have a full TWW (more like 9 days) so I don't go as mental but also bad as I think it makes things harder!

We just had good steak. I had a few JD. Red spotting so hardly any sexiness here. DH produced flowers, a card and a little hot chocolate gift thing this morning. Wasn't expecting more than a card, so that was nice.
Went on a dog walk which promptly ruined my day. 🙄 I thought I was going to get punched by a woman. We were walking up a path. They came from behind and her dog was walking up by us and my dog. She never shouted it. But they were ok. As we got to a junction we turned left. They had now caught up. Her other dog I don't think my dog ever really saw as it had stayed with them. It came up behind him and jumped on him. He hates that. And he barks and shows teeth. Just gets defensive. Doesn't look pretty but he's never bitten anything. Just makes noise. Obviously she was not impressed by this. I couldn't decide if she was going to kick him or me. But she got in my face and started shouting at me. They said he should be muzzled. I said why, he's never bitten anyone? He was also minding his own business. The bloke was like- the last person that said that- their dog bit our other dog and he ended up with 7 stitches.

Yet still you are letting your dogs approach strange dogs (the first with no warning) and it's not your fault at all?
Because the first dog walked with us at least 10 minutes and they never called him back once! Neither did I see it coming until it appeared. Clearly they didn't learn from last time then.
I'm not saying my dog should react how he does, he shouldn't, but I don't really know how I'm meant to tell him not to be defensive when he's jumped on? They said he was aggressive. I was like- but my dog never approached your dogs? Its not like he's ran and attacked.
Ordinarily I would have apologised but she got a gob full instead. Dogs are dogs. Yours approached mine so don't make out you have no responsibility? People piss me off. It was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Kind of puts me off having kids! Knowing I'll have to interact with twatty parents that otherwise I'd never have to encounter? It is a concern.....

@lucyrp don't worry too much, the risk is really low, and I think I'm remembering right that the risk from salami is 'just' food poisoning which can't cross the placenta (some deli meats have a listeria risk which is the thing that can cross the placenta). So in short, on the very off chance it makes you poorly it won't touch the baby, only you x

@lucyrp try not to worry too much. I think deli meat is more of an issue in the USA than here but to be safe just cook it. With anything that can cause infection the biggest worry is sepsis so guidelines are quite OTT to try and prevent it. It’s unlikely you’ve caught anything from your salami bender. Is it weird that I want some now 🤔 😂

@lucyrp hope your not feeling too awful after shitty night sleep. I too had an awful one and didn't get off until 2am! I had thee most horrendous bloating I could barely move it was so uncomfortable, but I'm not complaining as hopefully it's a good sign as I do remember having this really bad before.
