Really fed up of AF showing up month after month now 🤦🏼‍♀️ we've been taking the see what happens but dtd lots approach. But now going into month 7 so We've decided to use the clear blue opk's to see if it gives us a better chance. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Now to just wait for AF to disappear 😀

Any one else ttc #1? 😀

Good morning all

It has been a mad couple of days tbh,
We are finally moved house.
Was saying to my boyfriend yesturday, it's a shame it hasn't happened by now but it meant we could have a celebratory glass of wine & I could lug all the boxes around 😂

I'm feeling incredibly hopeful for this month if I'm honest & I don't know if that's a good or bad thing 😂

First day of using the easy @ home strips & then when it gives me my peak I'll use the conceive plus lube for a bit of added bonus 😂😂

@Amy259 your annual leave sounds lush! 😍
You never know 🤞🏻sounds like you dtd at the right time so hopefully means you'll get a bfp this month!

@Loops01 if anything I think it gets harder month after month 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

@AZ1992X the fact you felt af coming maybe, af Will be here in the next few days 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@rosiej95 ahh congratulations on finally being in your new home! Yes the silver lining is definitely that you didn’t have to worry about stress/lifting and could toast your new home. Fingers crossed you have two things to celebrate this month!!

Yeah I’m not ruling myself out because of my one time dtd, I just wont be as disappointed as I would be if we’d have covered all bases!

@Loops01 when are you due af? If your 8dpo today does that mean you’re due wed-fri roughly?

AZ1992X · 14/06/2021 13:41

I think AF may actually be here - noticed what I thought was pink when wiping - sorry tmi!

Sounds really sad but if it is I can stop stressing and can get ready to try again🤞

P.S @Amy259 I did that video yesterday - how strange if it has come today 🙈😂

Loops01 · 14/06/2021 14:00

I would agree @rosiej95. I've got quite a few twingey feelings again today. Quite a bit more but still bfn (sorry @Amy259 I know you'll tell me off haha). I never used to test early nevermind this early. I am so looking forward to trying the isoflavones but bit lost as to what to try after next cycle! I just keep thinking there must be something wrong if it's been almost a year and I have no obvious issues and never one little hint of a positive. I know you'll feel the same Rosie. I'm fed up of pill popping and having bright yellow pee haha

Amy259 · 14/06/2021 14:06

@AZ1992X ohh fingers crossed! Haha I was amazed when it worked for me, probably coincidence but I still enjoyed it!

@Loops01 I’ll let you away with 8dpo testing because you could actually possibly see something there.. but any before that is not allowed haha. I’m excited for the soy too!! It’ll be the first thing I’ve really done to improve egg quality, so if it is me hopefully that helps.

J1990 · 14/06/2021 15:48

Hi everyone

Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing! Have just read through this thread with interest & this will be my first post on Mumsnet as I think I need similar people to talk to.

Have been ttc for 6 months - this will be cycle number 7. Struggling a lot seeing friends etc. getting pregnant & feeling like it will never happen for me.

My cycles are regular, my husband and I are healthy and I just thought it would happen much quicker than it is.

I do get very bad ovulation pains and, although a scan a few years ago ruled out anything suspicious, I do wonder if I might have cysts or endo.

I saw a few of you have started taking soy isoflavones. I did this the past 3 months and, although it did produce very strong ovulation (& pain!) , it unfortunately lead to nothing. Keeping my fingers crossed that you guys have more success with it though. I've decided to take a break this month from it but may pick it back up next month as so many have success with it.

Oh and husband had testicular cancer a few years ago so only has one testicle but apparently that shouldn't make a difference... Still, in my head I'm confused as to why it hasn't happened yet and convinced there's something wrong :(

Amy259 · 14/06/2021 16:04

@J1990 welcome! Well done for reading through it all haha. You’re in the right place!

I’m on cycle 11 now, currently 7dpo and about to head off for fertility acupuncture for the first time - I’ll try anything at this point. Plan to try soy next month (assuming I don’t get a bfp this week!).

I was the exact same as you - we’re both really healthy, never smoked, are veggie, eat really well, etc etc, all the usual! And really thought I’d not only be preg by now but would maybe even have a baby by now. We’ve both had the first lot of tests and are fine so far, so it’s all very frustrating.

I think around 6/7 months in is when it was hardest for me (maybe I’m just used to the disappointment now 😂), trying something new every month etc. Here’s hoping you don’t have too much longer to wait!

J1990 · 14/06/2021 16:27

@Amy259

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yes! We are veggies too. Isn't it frustrating when you feel like you're doing everything right and it doesn't happen but there are people out there that are so unhealthy that get pregnant straight away.

It's good that the first tests haven't shown anything is wrong but I guess in a way that can be more frustrating as you can't address anything.

Haha yes, one the one hand it's more difficult each month but on the other it's totally expected! Got to try and be more positive but it's hard.

Best of luck with the acupuncture! Fingers crossed it works!!

Amy259 · 14/06/2021 16:48

@J1990 yeah it’s good there’s no big issues so far but also frustrating because if there was something (fixable/manageable of course) they bump you right up the list for help.

Yeah it’s so tough to watch everyone around you get pregnant isn’t it? My friends who have had babies had them just before we started trying and all of them fell pretty instantly from sex just once at the right time, not tracking or anything. So I just assumed we’d have the same luck!! But sadly not. Are you using OPKs or anything?

And thanks, even if it just takes the edge of the stress a bit I’ll be happy!

J1990 · 14/06/2021 17:43

@Amy259

Yeah exactly! What have they said is the next step for you?

I've started the ball rolling with it all and am being sent for blood tests so will see. I know it hasn't been a year yet but I will be 31 in a few months & don't want to leave it any later.

It's so difficult! I've stopped going on social media as I'm finding it too hard. Got one friend who just announced she's pregnant & she has pcos so I was surprised it happened so quickly. Happy for them but would be happier if it was happening to me as well Grin

Yeah, I've been using cheap opks from amazon & get a positive on cd15 every month so maybe it's just luck hasn't been on our side. Are you using clear blue digital ones?

Loops01 · 14/06/2021 17:57

@J1990 welcome! Can I ask what nhs region you live in as one of my friends has a workmate in very similar position with her partner having testicular cancer so wondered if you were the same person and if not I can maybe try to find out more details about her situation if it's helpful? Although it does sound very similar but unsure if it's longer she's been trying.

Welcome though!! Nice to have someone new! We don't bite, I just moan and tend to struggle to positive in many ways 😂. I am 8dpo of cycle 10 and going into cycle 11 in maybe 3/4 days when AF arrives. Same situation in the sense of healthy and no known issues. Cycle 4 was my downturn where I became hopeless really but you just pick yourself up and carry on. The girls on here have been great because there are many times in this process that you feel so so so alone but we are here! It seems to be no stupid thought or question. We all seem up for trying different things to help us get to the end goal. It's horrible realising that not using contraception for a month doesn't mean pregnancy. My SIL is pregnant currently from less than 6 months of trying and that really broke me. She's currently about 24 weeks I think and I just keep thinking it'll never come to me but just keep trying. Don't want to give up. Stubborn like that 😂.

Where about are you in your cycle just now and how long is it normally?

AZ1992X · 14/06/2021 18:20

AF has arrived 🙌, I never thought I would be happy saying those words. Defo ready for this cycle.

Welcome @J1990 , you’ve joined a great group - everyone has been so supportive and helpful. Any questions just let us know - like loops has said it don’t matter how silly it may sound.

I sadly had a miscarriage in May but I’ll be back again ttc this cycle with you lot.

Where abouts are you in your current cycle?

Loops01 · 14/06/2021 18:33

@AZ1992X WOOOOOOOOOOP!!! 🥳🥳💕💕🎉🎉 so happy for you!! Looks like the 3 of us are not too far behind Rosie now! If Amy and I are neg that is!

AZ1992X · 14/06/2021 19:39

Thank you!! @Loops01 ❤️❤️

Don’t rule yourself out yet it’s still early! , when would it normally be due based on your previous cycles?

Loops01 · 14/06/2021 20:06

It's normally 10 or 13 days but I need to actually check and count properly as I'm really just going by my last easy@home cycles more than previous 8 via clearblue! Plus I find other apps if I say positive test one day and then still positive test the next it makes the peak day the 2nd day instead of the 1st logged day...if that makes sense?

AZ1992X · 14/06/2021 20:26

Yes, that does make sense! , keep us posted.

I’m going into this cycle using the easy@home ones for the first full cycle rather than clearblue. Will be interesting to see if it’s similar to my previous cycles or if it’s affected anything.

Loops01 · 14/06/2021 20:51

So it is either 10,11,12 or 13. I think 11 or 12 is the most common but again before I was logging 2 days of positives so difficult to know! Hoping a few more cycles of easy@home might make me see the constants...once the cycle corrects itself 😔. Hope you enjoy your easy@home experience! It's difficult not to keep testing when you pee. I honestly feel lost not sticking a stick in a tub of wee haha

rosiej95 · 15/06/2021 04:45

@AZ1992X brilliant news! 😁 ha coincidence or not that's great that af ended up showing up the day after haha
Glad you can now get ready for your new cycle ❤️

Hi @J1990 👋
Lovely to have another person join us on this crazy journey.
I agree with @Amy259 6-7 months I found the most frustrating because I was convinced it would happen sooner
Now I'm on cycle 11 ive just kinda just gone with it now & am getting slightly less disappointed because I'm just expecting the bfn 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Amy259 I've heard good things about acupuncture! 🤞🏻 was it nice & relaxing too?

@Loops01 haha I'm glad I'm not the only one! First day of using the easy @ home & im like am I meant to do this every time I wee? 😂😂

How do they work at what number is classed as your "peak" & does it tell you?
I Did 2 tests yesterday one in morning at 0.36 & one in Afternoon at 0.41
& when is the best time to do them?
Every morning & then every evening? 🤷🏼‍♀️
Feeling like I never stop learning about ttc 😂😂

OP posts:
Loops01 · 15/06/2021 06:29

I would say my peaks are normally about 1.7 around there. It'll definitely shoot up. I think the best time to test is in the afternoon but it just depends when you can. If I'm getting closer to peak (tests getting darker) I test twice a day at least so I know i catch it. 0.3 and 0.4 is good. Maybe in the next few days/week? Is that when you'd be due?

9dpo and still bfn. AF will be showing up soon and I'll hopefully get to have more my 'normal' cycle so I'm not much over 30 days. It just keeps the process going longer. I guess a good thing is I got my letter in to say I've been referred although got a bit annoyed as the form to fill for the fertility clinic on one said has 'patient information' then on the other 'partner information' OK so you're blaming me already? Are we not both the patient? What do you put down if you were in a same sex relationship?! Thought it was pretty bad and a bit triggering because I already feel like the problem nevermind now! Anyway, off to another day of work. 5 left before much needed annual leave.

Amy259 · 15/06/2021 07:55

@J1990 I use easy@home too, I used clear blue for a couple of cycles at the beginning but found them a bit rubbish if I’m honest! I much prefer clear blue. Social media is so tough, I swear every celebrity on the planet has gotten pregnant in the last year too!
I feel the exact same - I’ll be 31 in Sept and my DH is 32.

@AZ1992X woooohoo! That’s so good! Maybe this voodoo stuff has some truth to it haha. Brilliant news.

@rosiej95 acupuncture was good, quite heavy because it was like a real fertility consult - way more in depth than my GP. She looked through my app too and was concerned my temp rises are too slow and not steady enough, and she’s emailed me a list of bloods to request at my GP.
Ideally test with your OPKs once a day between 11am-3pm after as long a urine hold as you can manage (2 hrs minimum but shoot for 4). Then as you get closer to when you think ov is, go to testing twice a day. Once you see it start to rise (above 0.5ish) text every pee until it shoots up, then keep testing until it falls. Have you got the Premom app? It goes with the easy@home strips and you take photos of them and log it in there, it’ll guide you too (after a cycle or two once it’s got your data) and tell you when to test twice a day.

@Loops01 it’s still so early, most people don’t implant until around 9dpo so there’s still time. Are you having any normal pre-af signs or anything?

AZ1992X · 15/06/2021 08:09

Thank you @Amy259 , I know maybe there is some truth!

Just worked out it was about 36 days from when I first started bleeding to AF yesterday which is only a few days longer than my normal cycle length as thats normally around 30-32. That theory wasn’t far out that it’s similar to your cycle length.

Amy259 · 15/06/2021 08:12

@AZ1992X I’m glad it’s here and you can move forward now. Here’s to this cycle 🤞🏻🤞🏻

rosiej95 · 15/06/2021 08:51

@Amy259 tbh that sounds amazing! Was it a case of you googled fertility acupuncture near you or was you recommended to it?

  • I do have the Premom app yes
🤔 testing at those times might be a little difficult as I can't take them to work with me 🤦🏼‍♀️ but can just hold it until I get home 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've tested this morning & has gone down to 0.22 but tbh we're dtd every couple of days anyway so when it does get a strong line hopefully we will be able to time it 🤞🏻
OP posts:
Amy259 · 15/06/2021 09:13

@rosiej95 it was amazing but I found it heavy too - I guess I just didn’t expect her to be so clued up on the medical side of it all?! I thought be more homeopathic but it was very clinical and she was so, so knowledgable. It was also a bit worrying to hear her say there were a few things she’d be concerned about! But all in all, it was great because it really felt worthwhile and like I would 100% make progress through it.

I googled Zita West trained practitioners near me and found her. She told me yesterday that the Zita West stuff is actually quite basic and she doesn’t rate it, but it’s so famous that she leaves herself on the website as it does attract clients. So I would just google fertility acupuncture and look at reviews - this woman has thank you cards and photos of babies she helped be conceived all over a corner of her room; which obviously was lovely to see!

J1990 · 15/06/2021 09:56

Hi everyone :)

I'm on cd8 & have 28 day cycle (but don't ovulate until cd16/17) The waiting feels like forever, how do you all keep busy in the tww? Or do you obsess like me over every twinge & then realise how ridiculous it all was when AF arrives?

@Loops01 I'm in Herts but moved recently from Essex. Doubt it is me so if you get any info you could pass on, that would be great! My husband didn't have to have chemo or anything so the situation might be different.

I can imagine that is so difficult! The friend who recently announced she is pregnant is having the works - gender reveal, baby shower etc. which is going to be so difficult for me to face. But we will get there! I don't know about you but I've been wanting it for years & waiting for husband to catch up, now he's on board its not happening so it's felt longer than the months we've been actively trying.

@AZ1992X I was very sorry to see that, it must be so difficult. Fingers crossed for this time for you x

@rosiej95 I can definitely feel that mindset happening to me. This month I'm not even going to bother with all this extra cirricula (ha) stuff. I've done epo, pre seed, soy isoflavones, not drinking, eating super healthy, dtd every day, dtd every other day and none of it seems to make a difference!

@Amy259 I know! And everyone is having Sep - Dec babies which makes me convinced they got pregnant so easily haha. Acupuncturist sounds very knowledgeable so fingers crossed for you! It's nice to feel like you're actively taking control of the situation I'm sure.
