Really fed up of AF showing up month after month now 🤦🏼‍♀️ we've been taking the see what happens but dtd lots approach. But now going into month 7 so We've decided to use the clear blue opk's to see if it gives us a better chance. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Now to just wait for AF to disappear 😀

Any one else ttc #1? 😀

Don't get me started on that lol. So I had in the end of April at cd12 (3 days before predicted usual lh surge). There was a rise in opks and that was normal ovulation for me. Cd13 the rise continued. Cd14 the rise plummeted. No ovulation that month until CD18 or Cd19. I had to stop testing. My period was late by 8 days. Never been as late as that since cycle 2 or near coming off the pill. Then this month obviously my lh surge was cd25. AF will be late obviously. I've been eating so well and taking the usual and basically nothing had changed (for the worse) since March's cycle. Only difference is the covid vaccine. I regret having it and won't get my 2nd one any time soon (although I've heard 2nd one has very little effects). There's a few posts on mumsnet about it and I'm not the only one.

But if you are at risk or have someone close at risk then I would go for it.

My friend took it Cd13. Lh surge Cd15 as normal. No late period. No change to cycle.

It's very different for everyone. And they are now saying pregnant women can have it. My SIL isn't getting it until after just in case. Someone stated that it affects 25% of people.

AZ1992X · 07/06/2021 18:50

Hi @rosiej95

I was offered it whilst I was pregnant so held off but had it about a week ago - I figured this cycle would be a no go anyways so had nothing to loose if it messed this cycle up.

Ask them if you can have a shorter gap - mine is 8 weeks in between first and second.

I asked the midwife about it and she was saying advice had changed slightly but probably still not recommending pregnant people have it unless at risk but no harm if ttc.

rosiej95 · 07/06/2021 23:40

@Loops01 ahh that's interesting 🤔
A friend who had covid said that messed her cycles up too 😞
It's not until ive got older that ive realised so many things can affect af 🤦🏼‍♀️

@AZ1992X I'm lucky I'm not high risk but would like it for my own peace of mind working in close contact with people plus a couple of companies mainly cruises are making you have it to go on holiday.
I have a few members of family keep telling me to book my vaccine & because no one knows we're trying I'm a bit like 🤔 not sure what excuse I'd give 😂
That's reassuring then, will look into it a bit more & go from there

Thankyou for your advice guys 🥰

You do what is best for you @rosiej95. You might not have any issues. At the end of the day with my issues it just means it'll take a bit longer. I don't think it's anything permanent. I've heard of many people getting pregnant one or two months after their vaccine. 🤷‍♀️

I think I am 2dpo this month. Think I will test early but ultimately I don't know when AF will come because late ovulation again. On one app it is due on Father's day. That'll be mother's day and fathers day I'd have AF. Never gets any easier! Contemplating going private in a few months. The clinic here says it's 6 weeks from applying to first consultation. It's the price that puts me off. Anyone know of anyone who went private or anyone else considering? I just keep thinking I'm not getting any younger and I'm running out of things to try. Soy isoflavones this next couple of cycles. Heard it can take about 3 cycles to take real effect

@Amy259 how are you getting on? How much of the isoflavones you going to take?

@AZ1992X any change on the opks?

AZ1992X · 08/06/2021 13:35

Agree with loops do what’s best for you @rosiej95

@Loops01 It must be such a hard decision to make if to go private or stay with the NHS and wait, hopefully you find someone or hear of someone who has gone private to speak too. Keep us posted!

They are still low about 0.18-2.5 last few days, today was the 10th one I did but did miss a day or two so not really sure if I ovulated or not but guess it don’t matter this cycle. Bbt has been higher for around week now which I think does suggest AF will be due soon. Just waiting for a drop which means it’s imminent. Hoping it’s this week 🤞 x.

AZ1992X · 08/06/2021 16:26

Sorry 0.18 -0.25. 🙈

AZ1992X · 09/06/2021 18:19

How’s everyone doing?

Got cramping and bloating this evening - defo feel like AF is on its way 🤞🤞 , they say your first one can be heavier and longer so hoping it’s not too bad when it finally shows.

Amy259 · 09/06/2021 18:34

Hi everyone!

@rosiej95 I was in two minds about the vaccine for ages but have done SO much research, scientific studies coming out my backside at this point, and I’ve decided to go ahead with it. The fact they’re still giving it to couples going through ivf gave me confidence too. I’m in Scotland and got my date for 17th June but I’ve delayed it by a week so that I’m getting it when af would be here, not whilst still in luteal phase. If af doesn’t come (therefore bfp) I’ll delay it until after 12 weeks.

@Loops01 all good here, 2dpo now too. Only managed to DTD on peak day so will just need to wait and see!
Your period shouldn’t be “late” as such, it’ll be the same number of days after ovulation, no? That’s how I would calculate it. My ov cycle day varies every month but af always comes 13 days later - is your luteal phase varying? It shouldn’t, my gp was very keen to emphasise that.
As for going private, we’re considering it now. DH really struggles with performance, so even if we’re both absolutely fine it’s going to take us longer because some months we can’t give it a good go. Happened this month, so the conversation has come up again. Who knows! I’ve a phone consult with my NHS gp (who is brilliant) next week about our next move too.

@AZ1992X hope af is on her way 🤞🏻 And that it’s not too much heavier/longer than normal! X

Amy259 · 09/06/2021 18:51

@Loops01 sorry, totally forgot to answer the soy question - I think I’m going to take them CD 3-7 and increase the dose over the days, maybe 120, 160, 160, 200, 200mg?
The frustrating thing will be that I’ll have had my vaccine too, and soy can delay your ovulation but I won’t know if it’s the vaccine or the soy if that does happen. But I don’t want to delay soy another month, so just need to go for it!

Loops01 · 09/06/2021 20:54

Sorry been busy the last few days. Walked into work and one of my colleagues pulled me aside to say she's 12 weeks pregnant. She's lovely and I'm happy for her. She pulled me aside because we were discussing trying in general the week before as I suspected something and she was like I couldn't tell you because we hadn't told anyone at that time. She doesn't know the extent of our trying but she did it in a nice way. Means I'm the only one left now.

@Amy259 what region are you? I'm Scotland. I'm in nhs grampian region. Be interesting to see how it might differ if you're elsewhere! I was going to do 200mg for day 3 and 4 then just 100mg for the remaining. So will see how that goes. So it could bring ovulation forward but also delay it? It'll be interesting to see how we get on with it! I'm 3dpo and going to try baby aspirin tomo. We only managed to dtd for the day before ovulation, day of and then day after. Again, not feeling hopeful. Have been feeling a bit bloated but I think that's mainly the food I'm eating as back having bread as just wanted something comforting haha. Opks have still been hifh
Today's one was a high 0.4 which was the first low since ovulation. Been having twinges from left side this time. Not had ANY symptoms since cycle 5 or 6. Again I think it's due to diet not been as good but will get back on it tomo... Or soon...

Oh and re luteal phase, normally I have either 10 or 13 dpos. Depends on the cycle. So 28 day cycle is always 10dpos and then any other cycle is normally 13 dpos. Although last months was saying 13dpos but then I didn't find my peak due to not being able to test. The one before that was 10dpo. One before thst was 13dpo.
So does this mean that there's issues if it changes??

@AZ1992X hopefully!! A nice big heavy bleed would be a good shed in prep for the next cycle.

Amy259 · 09/06/2021 21:02

@Loops01 I’m not sure of the exact science of it as I’ve always been consistent, but yeah she definitely said the luteal length should be pretty consistent.

I’m registered in Lanarkshire but live in Falkirk (long story!). I’m getting mine now on what should be CD5 next cycle.
Day before ov, day of, and day after is amazing! I’d be delighted with that!! You have no reason to feel negative/worried, there’s absolutely no way there wasn’t sperm there to meet your egg so 🤞🏻the rest goes to plan!

Yeah if you look up soy they can bring it forward or delay it, or simply make it stronger - not sure there’s much consistency in predicting what it’ll do though so just about being patient/weighing up if the risk of delaying it is worth it for you x

Loops01 · 09/06/2021 23:21

I read about it being stronger but didn't know about the delay. Oh well I feel like the past 2 months my cycles have been fucked up so another month won't be no shock!

Googling about luteal phase and now worrying that there are issues haha. I've been tempted to try progesterone cream before to see if that helps things.

It's so annoying as I feel like so many people don't look into this as much as we do and they just get pregnant so easily. It's infuriating

rosiej95 · 10/06/2021 02:50

Hey everyone

@Amy259 Vaccine booked for Monday, think I was very lucky tbh & must have had a cancellation but works out amazing cause af will have only just disappeared 😂👍🏻 If I wasn't ttc I honestly wouldn't think twice about having it but from the research ive done too it looks like it's all good so reassuring to hear you guys have/having it
So this month ive Got the easy @ home sticks & conceive plus lube to try hopefully this is the month🤞🏻 😂

@Loops01 it's a tough one weather to go private or nhs & a decision only you guys can answer, think if we end up having to go down that route & if we had the funds I think I would do private, I'm too impatient 😂

@AZ1992X hopefully your not waiting too much longer now & af is kind when she does arrive 🙈

@rosiej95 ooh enjoy trying new things! This is the cycle!!!!!

Amy259 · 10/06/2021 12:54

@Loops01 I’m sure it’s fine - I didn’t ask any luteal phase questions.

I can’t remember if any of you ladies had cm issues? I never usually get much, but this cycle I took evening primrose oil before ovulation and drank pink grapefruit juice (not from concentrate) around fw and noticed a huuuge difference! Just in case anyone else has that on their list of worries haha.

Loops01 · 10/06/2021 13:25

Ooh re the cm I noticed increasing what I drank (water wise of course haha) it increased lots too! Have heard the oil works well for cycle anyway!

Loops01 · 12/06/2021 20:45

How are we all doing this weekend?

I'm 6dpo and feeling quite up and down. I'm convincing myself I have symptoms and I know ill be upset when AF comes. Had more ovulation twinges than recent months and I feel like in getting twinges quite low down. Bloated and dizzy spells. But my diet hasn't been the best recently so I think it's more that. Back on the better eating now.

My cat isn't doing so well as she's not really eating and I'm trying everything. DHs last 2 days off have been cancelled and then our 3rd day off together I was held on at work. That was the only 3 days we had off in over a month. Feeling really low in an emotional and alone way but trying to not get too negative. Annual leave in 8 days time so looking forward to that. It's meant to be raining for most of it which makes me feel a bit like 'typical' but it'll just be nice to spend time together with DH and friends and family.

Any sign of AF @AZ1992X

@rosiej95 where are you at just now? You leading cycle 11 for us?!

@Amy259 how are you feeling?

Amy259 · 12/06/2021 21:07

Hi @Loops01, I just was thinking about you guys about an hour or so ago!

Awww your wee cat ♥️ Have you tried Lick-e-licks or whatever they’re called? It’s like cat yogurt pouches, they bloody love it. Sorry to hear your time off didn’t work out, but yay for annual leave soon!

We’ve actually been on annual leave this week, so were on Arran (DH’s fam have a place there) Sat-Wed, lots of walking and sea swimming and general loveliness. Then yesterday I was in Killin climbing Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers with our dogs and camped overnight, so not long home. DH is at a wedding (no other halves because of reduced number) so having a chill night.

5dpo and feeling pretty chill at the moment. Highly unlikely this month given we only dtd once when it counted, so not too hopeful (which means less disappointment I suppose!).

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend! X

Loops01 · 12/06/2021 21:30

Thank you @Amy259! The licki things is actually the only thing she will eat now. She managed a little bit of bacon (like 4 x1cm bits). She was eating some wet food brands and tuna but not since yesterday afternoon. Vet visit on Wed so I'm hoping they can maybe give her something a bit more but then I don't know if that is just going to string things out.

Aw your annual leave sounds lovely and fun!! Keeping you busy! I hope you haven't got too sun burnt in this weather! Meant to be hotter tomorrow which is nice. My weekend is OK, met up with one of my friends who is ttc and I haven't been able to speak to in about a month due to her being immature in her knowledge of ttc and my jealousy of the thought that she would get pregnant really quick. It was nice to talk to her actually and she gets it more which is helpful. It's just all been too much for me this month so pushed friends away a little bit. Meeting my best friend who is up from London tomorrow so looking forward to that!

I heard of a girl on here who got pregnant from just that one time so you never know but I also know how you feel. We can do it every day and it still doesn't happen so I guess just doing it at least once has a similar chance! Chin up, tits out! Think that's what the my say haha

Amy259 · 12/06/2021 21:35

@Loops01 chin up, tits out 😂😂😂

That’s lovely that you had a nice time with your friend, I’m glad you could talk to her. I totally get what you mean though, if any of my closest friends just started trying I would be so on edge about them falling pregnant super quickly. Which is awful, because someone else not having something doesn’t then give it to you, but it would be tough. Have a lovely time tomorrow with your friend too!!

Literally ALL of my friends with new babies had sex once the month they got pregnant. 4 of them. One time. And here we are trying to have sex 27483 times in 3 days.

AZ1992X · 13/06/2021 07:25

Morning all,

@Loops01 sorry to hear about your cat 😔, hope you’re doing ok & glad you’ve got some leave coming up so you can have a nice break.

Bizarrely the month we got the bfp we actually did it much less than other months , we did it every other day once in the lead up then did it the day we thought ovulation may have been and day after and that. Previous cycles we did it every day and sometimes multiple times.

No AF yet, I felt it was coming but symptoms wore off. My opks have pretty much gone to zero last 2/3 days and my bbt suggested AF was on its way so not really sure maybe it’s just delayed 🤷‍♀️. Just want it to turn up now.

Loops01 · 13/06/2021 08:45

I caved and rested this morning. 7dpo and did a opk. Both 0. I know its early but I genuinely think I'm out. Hopefully cycle 11 I can get my ovulation back to more normal and have a regular cycle again. I feel like every month not having a bfp is another month closer my SIL is to giving birth 😔

Amy259 · 13/06/2021 09:15

@AZ1992X okay so this isn’t normally my thing but after my chemical my next period wouldn’t come and someone on here suggested this:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=ajjD4JVl4bw

She has two videos on it. Anyway, I did the wrist and ankle ones one night before bed and woke up with af. Could’ve been absolute coincidence but it’s worked for me twice now. Just in case you want to give it a go!

@Loops01 right young lady, behave yourself! Testing at 7dpo (both hcg and opk) was always going to be negative!! You know this. Don’t let it get you down - it does not mean you’re out!!

AZ1992X · 13/06/2021 09:24

Thank you @Amy259 , I’ll try this later. Willing to give anything a go that may help it show.

Loops01 · 13/06/2021 22:06

@Amy259 I know, I just have a feeling that AF will show up in a few days. You'd think it would get easier month after month!

I tried that rubbing once before but didn't really work for me. Maybe didn't do it enough. I just looked a bit awkward at work 😂. Glad it works. May be trying it again soon!
