Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

Hi everyone, how are you all? I have felt definite movements all day today and I feel like a new woman. It’s amazing how the relief from worrying has affected me so much physically.

I’m also really excited that my friend is coming round for a cup of tea and bringing her newborn with her on Monday when restrictions ease.

Pleased your feeling good @Secretsquirrelisfedup! I’ve felt the odd movement but it’s not very consistent, mainly at night when I’m trying to sleep

I’m still being sick and sleeping all the time! Not sure if it will ever end!

Well, odd you say, yesterday I was getting worried that I hadn’t yet felt anything - I felt my daughter (2nd) at 16 weeks and I’m almost 18 weeks with this chap. Anyhow, I laid in the bathtub and......he’s a crazy little guy kicking away in there!!
I can’t believe I haven’t noticed til now!
We could see movements on the surface. My kids and hubby had a look - they didn’t need to put their hands on. You could SEE little guy doing somersaults etc!!!
I was a bit shocked!!

Now worrying about my diastasis recti - I can literally feel baby around half a centimetre under my skin (no muscle there to protect) - and feeling like I need to do more research on that!! Eeek
On this I have been referred to a physio but I haven’t heard so I think I might go for a few sessions privately so I can put my mind at ease.

jealous of those feeling movements! I’m not sure I’ve even felt a flutter yet. Having said that, I spend 99% of my time running between places and not getting chance to sit and concentrate on anything so that could be why!!

I usually feel them when I’m sat leaning slightly forward or laid down curled up at the moment. Never when I’m on the move yet. I’m pretty sure it’s taken longer to feel definite movements this time than it did with either of my other 2 but they said at my gender scan that I have an anterior placenta so that’s possibly why.

How are you all doing? I finally have my “16 week” midwife appointment tomorrow at 19+1 and I’m quite looking forward to it 😁

Good luck for the appointment @Secretsquirrelisfedup. Is it face to face? It’s the only F2F I’ve had so far so was nice to just blurt out my list of questions!

We’ve started thinking about names this weekend but nothing is grabbing us yet. This weekend has also just flown by! Prepping for work tomorrow but desperately could do with another day off!

Hi @Hoplop, yes it’s face to face. It was supposed to be last Monday then DD woke up with a raging temp so I rang and asked for a phone appointment instead. When the midwife rang she said phone appointments are next to useless for the 16 week appointment so she would rather rebook a proper checkup.

We are thinking about names too. I have a name that I absolutely love but although DP likes it he thinks it’s better as a middle name. We have a compromise name with that as a middle name but I’m not giving up hope that he’ll come round to the one I love before the baby is here 😂

And @Secretsquirrelisfedup - how do you know babe is the size of a hedgehog?? I’d love to have those animal comparisons. My kids are a bit underwhelmed when I say baby brother is the size of a turnip (they’re like WTF is one of those!?!) 🤣

@Lisyloo725 I’m going off the date they gave me at my 12 week scan and they did put me forward a few days from what I thought I was originally. I’ve got the Ovia app and you can choose from 3 different options for types of things to compare the size to.

I’m 18+3. Also have the Ovia app and love it! I feel really good, everything has been so smooth, looking forward to feeling kicks as it’s just been sporadic flutters so far. Anterior placenta though so may take longer!! I am constantly prodding him trying to feel movement!

Got told today by someone who has only seen a pic of me that I am massive which made me feel great... NOT! Not sure what she thinks is small then as everyone tells me I’m tiny! Still wearing size 10 in non-maternity and I’m an 8 in maternity (which I thought was pretty small!), can’t see past my boobs though 😂😂😂 the comments are just annoying aren’t they. Trying to not let them get to me.

@daisyorange2 I’ve got an anterior placenta too. I was only feeling sporadic flutters until Wednesday last week (12/05) when I was 18+3ish and now I’m feeling them more and more regularly and they are getting a bit stronger now.

Definitely don’t let comments about size get to you. People saying you’re tiny are probably referring to the fact that you haven’t put much weight on anywhere other than your bump and intend it as a compliment and people saying you’re massive will be referring to your bump, also intending it as a compliment bizarrely enough. I know I definitely had a mix of both with my first two. Less so this time round because people mostly only see me in my coat thanks to lockdown, which comes down to my knees and hides everything 😂. It is getting a bit tight round the bump though so I’ll be getting all that soon even if summer doesn’t make an appearance.

19+1 today and still holding out for a flutter 🤞🏼

Morning ladies. @Hoplop, the waiting is torture isn’t it. I swear I felt it miles earlier with my first two but as I am daft I never actually wrote down when it happened so I could have it totally wrong.

@Lisyloo725 nothing wrong with a bit of wishful thinking 😂. I’m pretty sure I’m a few days behind what they measured as I have a history of big late babies but my cycles are so wonky usually I don’t have an accurate idea of a date unless I go by what the scan says.
