Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

@daisyorange2 Boy specific advice is when changing nappies have a muslin or nappy to hand as soon as the fresh air hits and be ready to catch a stream of wee, never let your guard down 🤣

Thank you @Secretsquirrelisfedup that’s great advice! I have 3 small nephews, a little brother and all boy cousins, I grew up as the only girl so I think I am quite good with boys! So excited to really imagine it now 🥰

My scan this afternoon went well, baby is healthy and very wriggly. He is also a he 💙

Ahhh congrats @Secretsquirrelisfedup so glad it all went well and can’t believe we are all having boys! The midwife said it’s year of the boy. I got to hear the heartbeat again today, so lovely 🥰 so glad we have all had scans and are feeling so much better. Now let’s all enjoy it! Xxx

Thanks @daisyorange2, there’s a pretty even mix round where I am. I was dreading telling DD as she’s a bit dramatic at the moment and kept telling me she was desperate for a sister. Much to my surprise she took it really well and she’s just as excited to have a baby brother. My conclusion is that she is fickle as well as dramatic 🤣. She’s absolutely adorable though and keeps talking and singing to my bump and telling baby about all her plans for when he’s born 😁.

I’m secretly hoping for a boy though just because 2 boys seems easier than one of each! Not sure why!

Definitely easier/cheaper if you’ve still got clothes and stuff that can be handed down and they can share a room for longer. I was pleasantly surprised by how well DS and DD get on though and how much they have in common now so it’s not guaranteed to be loads harder either way. Good luck for Saturday xx

Hi @Lilbambinoplz, glad you’re still here even though MN notifications are acting up. I’ll try and find a decent picture, most of the ones we got this time are quite blurry and look a bit odd because he wouldn’t keep still. Good luck for tomorrow .

I found a good one in the downloaded album. All the printed ones were a bit pants. He’s sucking his thumb in this one I think

@Secretsquirrelisfedup we couldn’t get any clear ones at all! One of a hand and one blurry foot. The rest were all blob heads 😂

A v. clear potty shot though. That he wasn’t hiding haha!

@Hoplop I love that 🤣. @daisyorange2 they are brilliant pictures. We got a surprise 4D preview too but he buried himself into the placenta so we couldn’t see him properly.

I had my midwife appointment today they have decided to monitor me a bit more closely due to my family history of my brother being born at 28weeks and my medical condition
I felt upset to start with thinking I was t normal but after having time to think about it properly it is reassuring xx

I bought the cutest little newborn outfit today. I’m not going to buy any more clothes till closer to the time as we are likely to get quite a few bits from friends and family plus a load of hand me downs from my friend who has just had the most adorable baby boy. I just wanted to buy the one perfect first outfit. It will probably be what we bring him home in when he gets here 😁.

Aww @Secretsquirrelisfedup I have done the same. While I know I will get lots as a first time mum I couldn’t help but get excited and have a bit of a spend. I’ve got a lovely hospital outfit too and I got a mix of newborn, 0-3, 1-2 and 2-4 bits. Not tons just some baby grows 😍 so exciting!

I'm really not sure if I'm posting in a good place as I'm new to this, but I was just wondering if any experienced testers could help me!

What are the most sensitive cheap pregnancy tests (the ones you dip)? I know first response ER is supposed to be the most sensitive in general and I've taken 2 first response ER tests yesterday and today (I didn't track my ovulation but I estimate I'm between 8-11dpo) and got BFNs. But as I test every day, I'd like to use multiple tests from different brands to improve the accuracy just in case I get a positive using FR.

I'm convinced I'm pregnant as I have had period-like cramps, sore breasts, waves of nausea, dizziness, and a higher body temp. These symptoms are out of the ordinary because I don't get PMS symptoms. Even when I'm on my period, the only symptom I really have is cramps (but never before my period is due), so the sore breasts are definitely odd. But, I've read that it is possible to convince yourself you have pregnancy symptoms, so I don't want to give too much weight to these.

Any advice?

Hi @dj22 I find the easy@home tests really good and they have been as sensitive and reliable as FRER for me. I actually found them easier to read. They are about £8-£9 for a box of 20 on Amazon.

@dj22 no problem. I know what it’s like waiting to find out one way or another. So very many sticks peed on and if you can’t find decent cheapies it costs a fortune.
