@thislittlebird it must be so horrible for you, let's hope this dermatologist can work out what's causing it and get it sorted for you I'm sure that'll definitely help with the stress!

Noodella18 · 02/03/2021 15:43

@thislittlebird have you had a diagnosis? How many times have you been to gp about it? It's worth booking slots just check in and say it's still bad just to register it on your records, otherwise they will assume it's not been bad enough to warrant a call (even though we all know that other stuff gets in the way! I.e. focusing on ttc and other stresses!)

My god it would really, really help with the stress @Marvellouslymadmum. It’s a vicious circle of stress possibly causing flare ups and flare ups causing stress. If she can figure out what’s happening/help me I’ll be overjoyed and will only have ttc to worry about.

I’ve spoken to them again and again and again over the last year @Noodella18 with various diagnoses. Can’t see a person which doesn’t help imo. In January 2020 and December 2019 I even took myself to a&e because it was so awful. I’ve spent the year on antibiotics and steroids but because they didn’t get enough requests (what is enough? The mystery of the dermo referral at my terrible GP) for more creams (I have a lot at home because I’ve had it all my life) or they think it’s “just eczema” they wouldn’t refer.

One time I was told it was the “wrong time” because of the second wave of covid. Yeah, I’m sure that’ll convince my skin to go back to normal.

I’ve also been having fights with them (including talking to the person in charge of prescriptions, whoever that is) about taking things off of my repeat prescription that a dermatologist put on there a good decade or more ago. I really hate my GP surgery right now but I don’t know where else to go.

@thislittlebird oh that sounds infuriating, you poor thing! Can you change surgery? Your GPs sound crap. Must be so annoying to have an issue which impacts you so profoundly but not know how to navigate the gp's internal pathways to getting it sorted out :( hopefully going private will shed some light on things.

@thislittlebird @Noodella18 Gosh definitely couldn’t dtd every other day for a month. After the fertile window this time it took us over a week to dtd again! And that’s only because I thought “we better” otherwise it purely is about baby making! Just exhausted of it!! 🤪

@climbershell I’m getting urges to test early!!!🙈

thislittlebird · 02/03/2021 16:22

Honestly don’t even know who my GPs are anymore @Noodella18, they all vanished in the summer and there’s two people there now doing half a week each, where they take calls on the day. It’s bizarre. Diagnosing skin issues over the phone and on video call isn’t the one Hmm. Hopefully the private doc will help, I’m reassured that she’s NHS too.

I think I’m going to ask the local community sites for recommendations, it’s hard to know who to change to. I kind of want to move tbh, somewhere with better surgeries.

Agreed @Misty84 I don’t have a high sex drive anyway so it’s really not my cup of tea doing it every day lol. But needs must Confused. All fun and games when you just get pregnant after Christmas drinks like my friend but clearly that and everything else hasn’t worked for us.

Report
thislittlebird · 02/03/2021 16:24

I should add, when I took myself to a&e the doctors was shut because it was christmas and I didn’t know how else to get antibiotics because I clearly had an infection. I wouldn’t normally bother them.

@thislittlebird
Your friend who got pregnant after drinks at Christmas reminds me of when people say they "fell pregnant" Hmm Some trip and fall, others (me) have to make a big performance out of it, like when you trip in the street and career along at a 45 degree angle for a hundred yards before finally finding your footing, never actually touching the ground. Confused

That'll be so much better for you! 🤞🏻 for you @thislittlebird. I'd definitely look at trying to change gp surgery if you can they sound like they're a nightmare!

@TTCat39 oh yeah me too, I’m still pavement gliding, one day we may even get to land on the hallowed pregnancy turf 🙃

Report
thislittlebird · 02/03/2021 16:43

They really are a nightmare @Marvellouslymadmum but they were great when we first moved here in 2013 but it got gradually worse.

WrongendoftheSTIX · 02/03/2021 16:44

@TTCat39 yes! I'm with you there!

Speaking of changing GPs, anyone here know what happens if you change mid-referral? I’m a bit worried because I have one in the system and am about to request a second.

@thislittlebird I feel your pain with skin problems, I've had my fair share over my lifetime! Make sure you tell the dermatologist that you are ttc, as this might affect which medications they prescribe you x

Report
thislittlebird · 02/03/2021 17:13

Yeah I will @Kitekat81. I'm vaguely worried I'll conceive at exactly the wrong time (when they give me drugs) but will cross that bridge when I come to it, no point worrying about something that may never happen.

Kitekat81 · 02/03/2021 17:21

Yeh wait and see @thislittlebird. My skin's been fairly clear for a couple of years now (touch wood touch wood touch wood!) after my last round of phototherapy, but I'm slightly worried that if I do get pregnant then that will trigger a flare up again. Will just have to deal with that if it happens, no point worrying about it now 🤷‍♀️

@Noodella18 we just stick to the most fertile days and even then not every day. Tried that once in the autumn (it was his birthday) and got cystitis, my twenty year old self would be horrified by what has become of me 😂

thislittlebird · 02/03/2021 17:47

Good that it's been clear for a couple of years @Kitekat81. There's few things as amazing as when bad skin gets better. If I could get rid of whatever is going on now it would be such a weight off.

Kitekat81 · 02/03/2021 17:59

The most amazing feeling isn't it @thislittlebird. Fingers crossed the dermatologist will be able to help you out 🤞🤞🤞

I hope so, her reviews are good from what I can see @Kitekat81. I really thought it was better the last month or two, so frustrating.

In better news, I managed to rebook our re-re-scheduled 4 day Center Parcs trip. We’re going in April now which is great because I need to see something other than our local park for the millionth time.

Spotting on 11dpo, I think this is the start of AF.
So bored of googling symptoms to death every month only to be left with the same unhelpful conclusion: pregnancy signs and PMS are almost identical! What’s the point?! Plus I don’t always get the same symptoms blah blah blah so end up feeling tricked by my body.
Urgh gearing myself up for another disappointment. So tired of it!!

Hate feeling tricked by my body but it seems to happen every month @Misty84. Is it normally around 11dpo you spot?

@Misty84 oh no. Though if just sporting til a chance 🤞
