@Luan82 NO!!! I honestly thought it was your month... I am so gutted for you hun I really am 😔 this whole ttc is a nightmare... I don’t think it’s going to be my month either I don’t think I DTD enough xx

Mummacake · 07/04/2021 11:20

Hi, if it's any consolation I went in to have 2 healthy babies after my ectopic. I did have an ultrasound scan to make sure things were working as they should be. Found that I was ovulating earlier than I thought which help with TTC. Wishing you all well on your journey x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 07/04/2021 11:51

@Mummacake thank you so much for commenting it’s such a comfort to no so many women out there have gotten pregnant after the cruel ectopic... can I ask did you experience any cramping?? I am 2DPO and have been cramping loads xx

Mummacake · 07/04/2021 12:04

@Sweetbabydust1989 tbh I can't really remember, he's nearly 14 now. I had no idea I was pregnant when I had my ectopic and they thought I was about 6wks in. I'd go and get checked out just to put your mind at rest.Ask if they do any enhanced monitoring given your history.
I was very worried that I couldn't conceive afterwards and do think that I put too much pressure on myself - I think we all do. That was the reason for the ultrasound, no-one did any follow up or checking to see that everything was working as it should. The early ovulation thing was a huge surprise, as it was right at the beginning of my cycle rather than at the middle. No idea if this was normal for me or not tbh, but it did take the pressure off and I fell pregnant immediately. This was probably a year after the ectopic. Wishing you and all posters every future happiness and all the very best with your pregnancy.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 07/04/2021 12:39

@Mummacake thanks for the info... unfortunately unless I go private I cannot have tests under nhs as I have 2 children already... the only thing I got offered was a scan to check my ovaries which are fine and bloods nothing more oh and. 6 week scan if I do happen to conceive... I am using ovulation tests and noticed this month my peak was 4 days earlier than my last cycle.

Luan82 · 07/04/2021 13:55

@Mummacake thank you so much that is reassuring !! Do you mind me asking how you found out you were ovulating earlier? ( did you go by opks?) I'm thinking fo trying the sperm meets egg method this month just in case I have my ovulation wrong though I do get cramps for a few hours so can't Imagine i could be wrong! X

Mummacake · 07/04/2021 13:59

I had an ultrasound done at the local early pregnancy unit. I asked for a referral because I'd had no after care or reassurance.
It just so happened that I was ovulating that day, which was really early in my cycle.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 07/04/2021 14:09

Stupid question can you ovulate before you get your peak on an ovulation test I only ask as I noticed more watery discharge before my peak xx

Luan82 · 07/04/2021 15:12

@Mummacake thank you for that - I had a scan in november last year, on day 21 of my cycle the doc said i hadn't ovulated at that point but was close to, for a 29 day cycle that's way too short ! I get my surge at the right point but Makes me question if my body is gearing up for ovulation and it's just not happening when it should - the issue for me is that my consultant is only interested in booking me in for a laparoscopic surgery there has been no investigation into infertility and what could be causing it, my ovulation or uterus lining it's like they don't care - pretty appalling tbh x

ActonBell · 07/04/2021 22:51

Hi all, I haven’t been keeping up but I hope you’re all doing okay. I’m still finding our loss in Jan really hard to talk about which is why I’m not posting much.
However, we’ve had a bit of a surprise today as I got a faint line on a frer. I’m sitting very light to it at the moment as it was only a faint line but we’ll see... If it does progress it will be a massive surprise as it took us over a year to catch with the pregnancy we lost.
I’m trying not to think about it too much as whenever I do I get incredibly nervous it will be another ectopic.

ActonBell · 07/04/2021 22:54

Seeing the discussions about ovulation tests - we used them for nearly a year and they only get you so far I think. I think to pin it down you either need one of the very fancy ones or do some checking of cm and temping alongside.
We did the sperm meets egg method when we caught last time.

NigellasMicrowave · 08/04/2021 07:18

That’s such good news @actonbell - tentative congratulations to you. All good wishes for the next few weeks.

Luan82 · 08/04/2021 07:45

@ActonBell tentative congrats 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I'm feeling better today than yesterday- I was a mess, but it did light a fire under me and I have told leeds I now need an answer on how long the waiting list is for surgery expecting a reply this week. I have invested in the Ava bracelet to help track this month temps and we're planning on the egg meets sperm method this month too, also moving forward with 2 cycles of IVF at Sheffield if we aren't successful again.

ActonBell · 08/04/2021 09:48

This morning’s test. I’m really not imagining things am I? I’ll give it a few days before I phone epu. They won’t see me until 6 weeks anyway.

TTC after ectopic Part 2
NigellasMicrowave · 08/04/2021 09:55

Definitely not @ActonBell - that is very much a positive test Smile

NigellasMicrowave · 08/04/2021 09:57

I’m also out this month @Luan82 - my period arrived last night, late, after I had peed on many sticks, knowing I wasn’t likely to get a positive anyway, but figured if I wasted a FRER my period would show up and lo and behold, it did Grin it sounds like you’ve got a good plan in place.

Luan82 · 08/04/2021 11:25

@NigellasMicrowave mahoooooosive hugs to you, you sound like you are taking it all in your stride !! I'm decidedly better today - going over the costs of two cycles with Sheffield - spending close to ten thousand pounds of my own money because my nhs consultant refuses to acknowledge time is a factor makes me absolutely furious but I know that is the wrong headspace to be in during a ttc journey and particularly to avoid unnecessary stress during IVF, for that reason I'm going to try acupuncture too - might as well completely deplete my savings I suppose!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ x

Luan82 · 08/04/2021 11:26

@ActonBell that is a fairly strong positive definitely not a squinter! Fingers crossed for a happy and healthy nine months for you xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/04/2021 11:27

@Luan82 how are you today hun?? Xx

NigellasMicrowave · 08/04/2021 13:04

Ah there are worse things to be spending your money on @Luan82 than looking after yourself! That’s a positive investment.

I’m feeling a little down, trying to see that my period is a sign of my body being healthy etc but the new babies keep arriving around me and I’m still avoiding pregnant friends. Oh well.

Luan82 · 08/04/2021 13:05

@Sweetbabydust1989 much better thank you - ready to go another month !! Finally got somewhere with my referral (which was processed by my GP in June last year!) requested a transfer to another clinic so fingers crossed I still get treatment on nhs and don't have to pay privately to get seen sooner which is just insane x hope you are ok, entering into TWW scenario now! 🙏🏼🤞🏼x

Lililou · 08/04/2021 13:08

I'm out too this month AF has just arrived bang on time, BFN on test this morning.

I'm sorry @Luan82, so s* that they can drag things out for so long.

Luan82 · 08/04/2021 13:08

@NigellasMicrowave I feel this so much, had a good old cry last night as I'm going to my nieces first birthday Sunday and I was going through the ectopic just a few months after she was born so it was really hard process for me I did say I wasn't sure if I should go as I don't want to be a Debbie downer !! But I'm sure I'll come around. Big hugs to you xx

Luan82 · 08/04/2021 13:14

@Lililou I'm so sorry to hear that too - trust me when I say that you'll feel much better the next day, typical me style I'm already planning what I'm going to do differently this month !! (One more month to conceive naturally as they get the IVF paperwork in order) I've bought an AVA bracelet second hand to try and chat my BBT accurately which I've never done and will be trying the egg meets sperm method as a few ladies have mentioned recently will let you all know how I get on xxx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/04/2021 13:20

@Luan82 that’s so good to hear I really hope they help you quickly considering the amount of time you have had to wait makes me angry especially if time isn’t on someone’s side... yes iam all good I honestly don’t no when my 2WW started I got my positive static smiley on Sunday cycle day 12 but only started getting cramps from cycle day 14 and then I found some stringy stretchy mucus yesterday sorry tmi lol so not sure when I actually ovulated I would post a picture but don’t wanna offend anyone lol xx
