Husband and I have had various losses the last almost two years. Last year we had our baby boy prematurely and heartbreakingly died an hour after he was born. Since then we have been trying unsuccessfully- some months, I think through the grief I would make myself believe that there was a line.

I’m 8 days post ovulation today and I think I can see a vvv faint pink line that came within the ‘window’.

I don’t want to tell my husband and get his hopes up bcos I’m scared that I’ve got line eyes. I am feeling a little rough which prompted me to take the test so maybe I am pregnant?

Be careful with some of the "we can predict x amount of days before your period is due" when I fell pregnant I tested every day from 5 days before due day all negative but day after period due a positive test. Good luck.

Good luck. Hope it all goes smoothly for you. And in 6 months time you are changing dirty nappies! Smile

Another update for those who wanted one. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant (eek)!

It’s been a bloody rollercoaster of emotions and so many hospital visits. I’m under the care of a pre term birth clinic and my cervix has been measuring 28mm up until this week when I got a measurement of 24.6mm which is under the 25mm they recommend a cervix should be before a stitch should be considered. I have another scan on Monday so I should know more then, I just hope it hasn’t shortened any further. I’ve had two urine infections which only become symptomatic when I have period like cramps, so the dr said it may have been bcos of the infections my cervix has changed/been affected. I have been so aware of my hygiene, washing constantly, wiping door handles, taps etc and hope not to get one again and the cramps are frightening. They have said that I may just be prone to them in pregnancy and if I get one again I will be put on low dose anTibiotics for the remainder of the pregnancy. I am counting down the days to when I can hopefully reach 24 weeks and breathe a little easier and maybe become excited about having a baby.

We are going to tell family when I’m 23/24 weeks so I can’t wait. Can’t believe we’ve kept it a secret for so long, I’m glad we did bcos it’s been so tough emotionally that I don’t think I could have coped with updating ppl on every MAU visit or weekly cervix scan etc.

just hope the scan goes well on Monday and no intervention is needed.

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, I’ve read them at my lowest points and have felt so much love and wanted to get to a good(ish) place before updating on here.

❤️❤️

Hope the scan went well op Smile really happy for you x

Thank you! The scan didn’t go too well, baby is fine but cervix was measuring 21.3mm so a further reduction and we decided to go ahead and get a cervical suture. Got that done on Friday, we were there for over 14 hours and it was a tough day but everything went well and I am now at home healing and resting. I almost never went ahead with the procedure after hearing another woman who had the same procedure done as me, have the emergency buzzer pressed by the midwife 3 times bcos her bp and heart rate dropped dangerously low. Midwife then popped her head round our area and said I know that must've been very scary to hear but it’s very unusual so please don’t worry. Thankfully the lady was ok in the end but kept in overnight.

I’ve got yet another infection so am on low dose antibiotics for the rest of the pregnancy to prevent any further infections but will still be proactive and check for infections on a weekly basis.

Our next cervical scan is in three weeks, just hope it goes well. I’m almost 24 weeks and will be so so relieved once I get to it bcos then there is a chance for our little girl.

We told family on before the procedure and they were all surprised at how far along I was and very happy.

Counting down the days to 24 weeks!

Hope things are going well for you.

Greenbks · 07/07/2021 15:16

Thank you! Everything is going well! I’m almost 30
Weeks

I have cholestasis so may need to be induced early but the call will be made closer to 34/35 weeks. Will also need to book the stitch removal soon- just trying to stay positive and think it’s one step closer to meeting the little one.

At some point I also need to organise house and basic baby stuff. I’ve been so focused on medical procedures and appointments that now I need to get some practical stuff done & I can actually start thinking about bringing a baby home!

Thanks for all the support. X

How did your family react? Obviously pleased but when you told them you were 24 weeks? That must have relieved some stress for all of you!
