Husband and I have had various losses the last almost two years. Last year we had our baby boy prematurely and heartbreakingly died an hour after he was born. Since then we have been trying unsuccessfully- some months, I think through the grief I would make myself believe that there was a line.

I’m 8 days post ovulation today and I think I can see a vvv faint pink line that came within the ‘window’.

I don’t want to tell my husband and get his hopes up bcos I’m scared that I’ve got line eyes. I am feeling a little rough which prompted me to take the test so maybe I am pregnant?

Great news @Greenbks! Big congratulations

@Greenbks

Thanks guys! I read every single message yesterday and today and appreciate them all.

So I managed to stop crying for long enough to go down and ask if husband had a break coming up. He finished writing an email and I burst into tears. At first he thought it was about our son and me feeling down but I was also laughing (like a slightly demented person) so he figured it out. He looked as shocked as I felt when I saw that tiny almost invisible line. Once/if I get to 5 weeks I will contact my midwife so she can set up a care plan and all the necessary checks that need to happen.

Both very happy and are just going to enjoy today and see what the tomorrow days bring.

Aww I had such a big grin on my face reading this 🤗🥰

You deserve this so much! Best of luck to you Thanks

Greenbks · 07/01/2021 12:48

Thanks all! Glad this is an uplifting thread for everyone, I think we can all do with some good feelings especially at the start of this year.

Husband and I decided to celebrate a little last night and had a nice dinner. We’re back to managing expectations today and taking it a day at a time. Did have to pinch myself this morning when I remembered.

I’ve done another FR and it’s getting darker so it’s given us some peace of mind for now. I’ve got some clear blue digital tests which I’ll do to see if the pregnancy is progressing week by week, at least until 6/7 weeks when I have my first scan (part of the ‘care pack’ after a late loss).

Very much hope we get to that stage and get to see a little heartbeat. Xxx

Really am happy for you OP. Might be worth setting limits on testing, in my experience as a midwife continual peeing on sticks can feed rather than soothe anxiety over early pregnancy losses. Is that line darker? Oh maybe it isn’t, oh no what does that mean... etc etc. I’ve been contacted by women very distressed about this type of thing. If it really helps you, just agree a limit and be aware it’s not an exact science ❤️

Greenbks · 08/01/2021 09:09

Thank you for the advice! I have a big soft spot for midwives and think they are the best after we had our son. Our midwife was our saviour.

Completely agree with line obsessing- I can see that happening if I continue so Definitely won’t be doing the tests everyday. I feel happy enough to have seen that line get darker. I have one FR and two clear blues that I want to use up so I’ll do the FR on the day of my period or after and the clear blue just to see pregnancy is progressing. But I’m not buying any more so the temptation is not there.

Although the symptoms I’ve been having are a constant reminder I’m pregnant and seem to get stronger each day which when I think back to my son they weren’t as strong by this point, in fact I only took a test at 11DPO which was positive and I remember thinking I feel great, there were barely any symptoms until after I missed my period.

So hopefully it’s a good sign! Thanks again. ❤️
