Husband and I have had various losses the last almost two years. Last year we had our baby boy prematurely and heartbreakingly died an hour after he was born. Since then we have been trying unsuccessfully- some months, I think through the grief I would make myself believe that there was a line.

I’m 8 days post ovulation today and I think I can see a vvv faint pink line that came within the ‘window’.

I don’t want to tell my husband and get his hopes up bcos I’m scared that I’ve got line eyes. I am feeling a little rough which prompted me to take the test so maybe I am pregnant?

Hi HELP needed, I am eight days late and day seven I wiped and some pink then when I wipe today it's a dark brown I did two tests last week and one had a very faint line but other one negitive, should I test tomorrow? Period obviously should have been last week I am unsure what all these different abbreviations mean as new to all this. Tummy feels strange sometimes too Smile

Iamnotminterested · 27/01/2021 14:23

Congratulations OP!

I too had an ' am I, am I not?' situation and a very faint line with DD1 after having a miscarriage the year before; that faint line is now 20 and at university Smile

Just an update. I’m 8 weeks tomorrow and have a scan next Wednesday to see how the pregnancy is progressing.

I’ve had brown spotting for two weeks every time I wipe and with our previous losses we’re just going to see what the scan says and take it one day at a time.

HansSolo22 · 06/02/2021 15:36

What a lovely update to your post and I have my fingers crossed that everything will be ok at the scan. Very best wishes for next week and please let us know how it goes!

Greenbks · 16/03/2021 05:30

Thank you guys!

I’m sorry I’m a little late updating but I’m pleased to say I’m still pregnant!

I think it’s safe to say I’ve been petrified the last few weeks and have put off updating this thread bcos I believed something would go wrong before I reached week 12. I’m
Pleased to say though that I’m almost 14 weeks and still going strong. I’ve had a number of scans now, two reassurance scans at week 8 & 11. The 12 week scan and a cervical measurement scan yesterday (measuring at 28mm) and everything seems fine for now. I do feel relieved but I know it’s still early and I didn’t lose my son until a little later - so worried about those weeks & the same potentially happening again.

With my son we kept being told by hospital doctors I have less than 1% chance of losing him (at that stage in the pregnancy) and now we’ve been told there’s a 15% chance of something going wrong, due to my arcuate uterus (which can lead to premature birth) and previous history. I have a cervical scan weekly until I get to week 18/19 and then every two weeks.

Partner and I haven’t told any family or friends and I think we both want to get past the 5/6months point before we do. It’s strange keeping it from our families, especially my mum and sister since I told them very early on in the previous pregnancies. It’s a conscious choice though- I don’t want constant worried phone calls from my lovely mum so have decided to focus on us & getting as far down this pregnancy as we can.

Grateful for any words of wisdom from anyone who’s been through something similar- how did you cope in the second trimester, do you have any tips?

Also would love to hear from anyone who has had cervical scanning - how did that go for you? I’ve been told about the options of progesterone and stitch and That some women opt to get it now to be on the safe side. One of my big concerns is that I will start bleeding/leak amniotic fluid & go into spontaneous labour like I did with our son and then it’ll be too late to get a stitch. Something I’ll bring up with them next time I see them but would welcome your experiences/advice on any aspect of this.

Thank you!!

Oh OP your update is like a beautiful ray of sunshine in an otherwise awful week.

I have everything crossed for you.

Best of luck, OP.

Changemaname1 · 16/03/2021 06:42

Sorry op no practical advise on the stuff you asked but I just wanted to wish you well Smile

EugenesAxe · 16/03/2021 06:51

I could see nothing for ages, but if I don't look directly at it, I have a vague perception of a line in the second position.

I hope you get positive news soon and I'm very sorry about your DS.

Enterthedragons · 16/03/2021 06:51

Yep defo!

Pearl97 · 16/03/2021 06:54

This has made my day - and it’s not even 7am. I wish you all the love. Please keep us updated xxx

EugenesAxe · 16/03/2021 06:54

Sorry! Didn't see your update - that's great news and I hope it goes all as planned.

Good to know actually that a 'line eyes' pregnancy post has turned out to be a pregnancy!

DarceyDashwood · 16/03/2021 06:58

I haven’t been through what you have been through so have no words of wisdom but just wanted to say all the very best for your pregnancy and try not to worry too much Flowers x

Misspacorabanne · 16/03/2021 06:59

Brilliant news op! I'm sorry I can't offer any advice on the premature birth front, but I just wanted to say congratulations! Smile

Ikeameatballs · 16/03/2021 07:03

No advice but wishing you well. When is your EDD?

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot1 · 16/03/2021 07:06

I've just read your oats OP and I was hoping for a good outcome. So so pleased for you.

I can't imagine what you're going through but I had a MMC and CP last year. I'm now a week overdue with my rainbow baby.

Unfortunately I didn't find a way to cope with the anxiety, and with your story, I can't imagine you will but I hope you do! It got easier for me when I could feel movements. And I just took it one day at a time, never took the next day for granted. I was "12 weeks and 6 days" never "13 weeks tomorrow" except to DH where I would say "if we have movement in the morning it will be 20 weeks" etc.

Don't know if this would work for anyone else but I just didn't like the idea of jinxing or expecting something that isn't guaranteed.

I hope all goes well and you really deserve this ThanksThanks

CatkinToadflax · 16/03/2021 07:42

Lovely news OP! Flowers My DS1 was born at 24 weeks due to incompetent cervix. With DS2 I had two stitches placed at 12 weeks, plus progesterone from 12 to 36 weeks, and we made it to 38 weeks! I totally recommend going for one or other or both options. Good luck OP x

MrsEricBana · 16/03/2021 07:43

Absolutely delighted for you and hope things carry on going well! SmileFlowers

AyyX · 16/03/2021 07:45

I’m so happy for you! Congratulations and good luck! Hope everything goes well throughout this pregnancy. Xx

Peachee · 16/03/2021 07:45

I can 100% see a faint line.
