Where is everyone today?????

OP posts:
BeckiF · 27/10/2004 11:59

Can I ask the graduates whether they noticed less of a flowback when their dp withdrew around their fertile time. I'm still of the opinion that when you are fertile you get less of a gush. SO what say you graduates (or can't you remember??!)

Nikkichik · 27/10/2004 12:10

Not that I'm a graduate (yet!) but now that you mention it BeckiF, yes I did notice less of a flowback just in the last couple of days and it's supposed to be my fertile time. However, I did fall asleep pretty quickly last night so ..... We will just have to wait and see if your theory is correct!!!

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 12:15

I couldn't really tell BeckiF - what with my big pants on and my legs up around my ears!!!!

Does anyone have the answer to my earlier Clomid question????????

BeckiF · 27/10/2004 12:53

Sweetheart, I think I asked the same question when I was on Clomid and was told that no it doesn't contain any hormones.

BeckiF · 27/10/2004 12:58

Try THIS Sweetheart

808state · 27/10/2004 13:44

To Sweetheart,

You asked this question:-

Does anyone know the answer to this.....????

Does Clomid contain hCG or LH hormones and can a person taking clomid use OPK's????

Clomid contains LH hormones; would strongly suggest you not use opk's whilst taking this as false positive readings are likely. The kit will just read the amount of LH hormone. Apart from the expense of the things, they can just cause additional stress.

Would also assume you've been put on clomid due to ovulation problems. Do you actually have a diagnosis and are you being monitored whilst on it (it is important that you are monitored)

808state · 27/10/2004 13:46

Should clarify further re clomid as my previous reply was not quite there:-

it encourages more LH hormone to be produced. It is often used as the first line of treatment in women with ovulation problems. Should not be used for any longer than six months.

hey tessisbear- i hope you are right, there were many swimmers there that night. i usually have a 33 day cycle, and when i do get the egg white mucus, and positive opk, it's on on cd17, or cd18, but this time i got it on cd14, so that's when i bd 5x's, (still sore), and yesterday morning, i got a peak reading again on the clear plan monitor, but did not bd till 3am last night, cause we were having alittle "spat", but i finally got what i needed 3x's, (very sore!), but now i wish we had done it much earlier in the night or day, cause this morning, my peak, went back to high, so at 3am, i probobly missed the "peak" boat this is my first month of using this monitor, but iam assuming since it was peak for 2 days, and now went back to high, i must have finished ovulating or something, and it's over for this month, ya think that's how it goes?? don't know whether to go for another round today, or if it's a waste of time now. damn me for being difficult earler in the night, i screwed up i think. congrats to all the new expectant mamma's out there!! this is a lucky thread. i see pshycic sylvia browne is on montel williams show today, i wish i could talk to her and see when, and if, this is going to happen for me. i don't know how many more months i can take w/o starting to fall apart at the seams, alittle! good luck 2 all!!

runtus · 27/10/2004 14:23

Thanks 808, S/heart was asking on my behalf as she has kindly donated me her spare opk's ( not needed now she has fallen pg!) and I wondered if they were worth using while on Clomid. I have blood tests booked on Friday and if they come back as low, my Dr has said he will prescribe Clomid to kick start my system.

Not sure what to do now - worth using them or not??

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 14:23

808state,

I have just graduated from this thread and am passing my unused OPK's onto another ttc'er.

She is hoping to start Clomid soon and I just wondered if it would affect the results.

Thaks also to BeckiF!!!

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 14:24

snap!!!!

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 14:24

Runtus,

I'll send them to you - ask your doctor on Friday if you can use them and if not you can pass them onto someone else.

runtus · 27/10/2004 14:26

You're star s/heart!

MINNIE1 · 27/10/2004 14:28

were all very quiet today.. How are you all doing??

MINNIE1 · 27/10/2004 14:28

i'll refreash next time won't i!!!!

runtus · 27/10/2004 14:32

He he!

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 14:33

OK, I've sent them - you should probably get them tomorrow!!!!

runtus · 27/10/2004 14:47

Hurrah - now to explain them to dp! He knows nothing of my MN membership or what it even means........have a feeling I have some geek jokes heading my way.....

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 15:13

I can't remember who started it but with the OPK's you have to use a sample. Someone once posted about using the cap from their dh's deodarant can and I did the same - go on Runtus do it, do it - It will be soooo funny - he'll have no idea, and it can be a new little trend type thing!!!!!

Just had a crisis at work - I relised I sent out all this months accounts chq's without signing them - now I know I must be preg!!!!!!

runtus · 27/10/2004 15:18

I think he may notice as he keeps it on his bedside table! Plus, we use the same brand (don't ask) and I can just see myself weeing in my own one by mistake........

Is there a best time of day to do the tests?
