@bumptobean im sorry to have you join us ❤. Theres a lot of individual variation on trying again and it also depends on how pregnant you were before miscarrying. I know some posters who have got a period within 2 weeks of MC. My hospital told me to test at 2 and 3 weeks and it should be negative by week 3. If it isnt, contact your EPU as this can be because of retained tissue (sorry, tissue is an awful word but no other word is accurate).

In terms of trying again, you should wait till you stop bleeding (otherwise infection risk) and have a negative test (as otherwise hard to tell if retained tissue or a new pregnancy is causing a positive test). They might have told you to wait until after a period. This is only so it is easier to date a new pregnancy. if you fell pregnant again before a period, theres no issue health wise.

Personally I had surgery for MMC at 14wks, baby had grown to 11 weeks, so it took 6 weeks for a negative test and 8 for a period. But I think I'm at the longer wait end!

PrettyPinkPansies · 24/01/2021 10:48

@NatJ24 so sorry for you also lovely! Yeah so I started bleeding on the 2nd (marked this as CD1) after weeks of back and forth to the hospital, I bled until CD10 and got negative test CD12. I started OPKS same day and have had negatives on pink dye ones ever since, and got two days of low, then high fertility ever since on a CB digital (currently on day 10 of thay stupid flashing smiley!!) not sure what to do?! X

NatJ24 · 24/01/2021 10:49

@bumptobean so sorry to hear about your MC. All of them feelings and questions you have are normal and what we all seem to go through. Like @PumpkinEverything said you have to wait until the bleeding stops before you can start TTC again so just take that time. Everyone's journey after MC is so different so its hard to say when it will all happen but it does help to read others experiences, if you're worried it can make you feel better hearing others have the same things going on. In my experience I was still getting a very very very faint like on a pregnancy test up to the day before my first AF! It was very light but still there slightly. My AF came 5 weeks after the MC.

Bellabubble · 24/01/2021 10:51

@ELMcg I use the easy@home ones - cheap for a big box, and they have always been very accurate at picking up my peak (I confirm ovulation with my bbt) I use them with the premom app too, which tells you whether it is low, high, peak etc :)

@ELMcg like you say it's positive that you're further along than you thought so glad you're taking positivity from that 😊 it seems there's a couple of you in almost the same spot! I use the clearblue ones, fell both occasions when used last year.

Welcome @bumptobean and @PrettyPinkPansies In response to your questions on periods, negative tests. There is no clear answer, all the ladies on here have had such different experiences.

Mine just as an example. First MC I conceived in August then MC at 6 weeks, didn't have a period in between and conceived again straight away. Then in December I had a MMC at 11 weeks, baby had stopped growing a few weeks before and had surgical management to remove the pregnancy on 2/12/20. It took me 3.5 weeks to get a negative, others it's taken up to 6 weeks. My period returned quicker than expected and arrived exactly a month later on 2/01/21 and it was ridiculously heavy. Others barely have any bleeding so there's no hard and fast rule. My only advice to someone going through it is just to be patient and trust in your body and try not to clock watch (easier said then done I know)

@PrettyPinkPansies @bumptobean sorry you find yourselves here. This group is a lovely group for advice, reassurance and feeling like you aren’t alone. It has been ao helpful for me :)

@bumptobean it took me 12 days from first day of bleeding for a negative test x

PrettyPinkPansies · 24/01/2021 10:55

Thanks everyone! My husband thinks I've lost the plot at this point I think. X

PumpkinEverything · 24/01/2021 10:56

Have started a new thread and tried to tag a few people, but for those that I’ve missed, here it is 😊

MrsF111 · 25/01/2021 11:48

I’ve started to bleed, last time was a MMC so this is new to me, last night I had brown spotting so wasn’t worried, this morning it was pink and then I’ve just been and it was more red when I wiped and had a few clots. Only there when I wipe but as it’s getting strongly it seems like I’m miscarrying. Just don’t know what to do, it’s so unfair.

RS2609 · 25/01/2021 13:07

@MrsF111 I think people have moved over to the new thread. How are you doing? Have you contacted your local EPU? x

MrsF111 · 25/01/2021 13:39

@RS2609 I haven’t yet, they only have someone on the phones in the mornings, and I’ve been putting it off as I found them so cold during the last miscarriage. I’m just praying the bleeding stops, I will have to call them in the morning if it gets any worse

RS2609 · 25/01/2021 13:44

@MrsF111 yeah I completely understand what you mean. My sonography was lovely but I have to say the rest of my experience was pretty awful. Keeping everything crossed that it all settled down. Do you have en early scan booked in elsewhere?

RS2609 · 25/01/2021 13:47

Sonographer sorry

RichmondLady1981 · 25/01/2021 14:08

@MrsF111 so sorry to hear this! I’ve been through exactly the same as you. Keep us posted on how you are physically and emotionally. Come and join the new thread. X

Hi everyone - I haven’t been on here for a few weeks :( I just came back to some new pregnancy’s , congratulations to you all and hoping all is going well !
I am now 6 weeks post miscarriage and still no AF but have been feeling odd last couple days and my temp as been quite high last 2 days , anyway decided to test today @ 2pm and had a super faint line , Thought nothing of it ! Then 7pm I was putting my kids to bed I came over hot and dizzy so decided to take the other one ! And it looks darker to me? Please help could this be a new pregnancy, is it still old hormone ? I have never had a negative with FRER but very very faint lines, I’ve had complete negatives with clear blue tests the last couple weeks.
Thanks

Really sorry to read this :( it is so unfair and I really hope this is not the case for you xxx

RS2609 · 26/01/2021 23:02

@Mammaofgirls it’s hard to say if it’s new or not. Were you tracking ovulation? Come and join us on the new thread x

RS2609 · 26/01/2021 23:04

@Mammaofgirls I’ve just re-read and saw you had negative pregnancy tests in which case it’s definitely possible for it to be a new pregnancy. I had my miscarriage on 12th December and BFP 13th Jan x

Mammaofgirls · 27/01/2021 07:45

The test hasn’t got any darker since last night so maybe this isn’t a new pregnancy after all and still old hormone 😩 x

Mammaofgirls · 27/01/2021 07:51

Been trying to but I’ve had constant smiley faces or flashing for the last 4 weeks pretty much? I’m assuming that’s to do with my old hormone ? I just took an OPK to see what it said as not done one since I had 4 day’s of solids and the flasheYs last week, and it’s solid again And I took the stick out and it’s so dark? 😭

@RS2609 I keep replying to you but it’s not tagging you sorry x

RS2609 · 27/01/2021 07:58

@Mammaofgirls I don’t have experience of this but apparently ovulation sticks can go positive with a pregnancy too. I think given your situation the only way to know for sure would be to contact your GP to explain the situation and get a couple of blood HCG tests a few days apart to see if your levels are rising or not xx

Mammaofgirls · 27/01/2021 08:02

@RS2609 this is how I had an Inkling the last time was pregnant Was with OPK as it was a blazing positive ! I think I’ll leave it a week see if my period comes then retest, I guess by then it would be lighter or darker ! thanks for replying xxx
