Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@Mariex1989 I have got sore boobs too a few days after ovulation and I’m taking that as I haven’t conceived as it’s surely the start of PMS?! x

@DollyMixtureStocking I’ve no idea. It’s odd for me not to have sore boobs this time of the cycle, but then it’s also an early sign of pregnancy isn’t it so god knows 🙈
I’m just questioning whether I ovulated this month due to the lack of PMS boobs x

@Mariex1989 not long to wait then!! Let’s hope she doesn’t come🤞🏼 I’m due next Tuesday so still early really!!!! I’ve just been to Tesco and brought a pack of clear blue 6 days sooner tests. So annoying that the supermarkets around me don’t sell first response!

Hey ladies, I'm 8dpo and feeling a bit cold like all of a sudden. Not unwell in any other way, but my voice keeps going croaky and breaking (no sore throat/cough) I get random spouts of sneezing, with sniffy and runny nose, and my cheeks have been really hot for a couple of days. Does anyone know if this is a sign? Could just be time of year mixed with my desperation to be pregnant 😂

@jasmineh hopefully the clear blue will give you the positive when you going to use it?
Not long but I’ve just checked my cervix (was really adverse to doing this cos it cringed me out 😂) and it’s low but soft. I know they say it’s not a definite symptom but still, feel I’m out!

@ELBlack my sister had a sniffly nose/cold symptoms when she first found out (before she’d even told us) so could be a definite sign for you!!!

@ELBlack this is defo a symptom for some ladies!

@Mariex1989 I really hope so! I’m not sure if tomorrow is too early, really unsure! What do you think?! I always check mine but it really isn’t an indicator other than for ovulation! When I was pregnant with my angel baby my cervix was low and hard but high cervix is supposed to show you’re pregnant so I don’t believe it myself!!!! You’re not out till af! Or do a test😬🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼!!!x

Eeek trying not to get too excited as I've also started getting lower backache this evening, so think it might just be AF coming ☹️

@ELBlack it’s so annoying how the symptoms are similar to the ones of AF isn’t it! Sounds promising though, when you testing?

@DollyMixtureStocking I don’t really know 😂 one app is saying 9 days and the other is saying 12dpo. I haven’t been tracking and just going off the apps. We DTD throughout to try cover ourselves.

@jasmineh it’s funny isn’t it, everyone’s different so guess you can’t just go off what google says.
Is there 2 tests in the pack you got? If so if just don’t one tomorrow or Friday

My mums over on Saturday night and (not to be morbid) but it’s the 1 year anniversary of my dad passing so she’s going to want to have a drink with me. So I don’t know whether to test before then or not 🙈 awkward

@Mariex1989 I think Monday as that's what I think to be 13dpo (I never actually caught my peak, but has a pelvic scan last Saturday and they said I'd recently ovulated so just assumed it was on the 8th as that was the day I had the darkest lines, but I did continue to get highs on my LH tests until 10th)

When are you testing?

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad passing💔 I’m also meant to be drinking Sat night so another reason why I’d like to test beforehand! If I was you I’d do one if af doesn’t arrive Friday or Sat morning!

@Mariex1989 you’ve further on than me in your cycle then, I got positive OPK on Sunday morning, so I probably ovulated only on Monday.
I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I wouldn’t recommend it but I got drunk before I found out I was having my son as I didn’t think I would be pregnant at all. He’s 4 now and he’s fine!
I’m in a similar situation with being due AF on the 27th, do I test early so I can relax and have a drink or do I just wait!

I feel like if I get a BFN it’ll make me more emosh than I would be, but then if I got a BFP it would be the perfect thing to uplift us all (I’d more than likely tell my mum).

@DollyMixtureStocking thanks for that! I might just be sensible and not over do it. I know soooo many people that went all out before even realising they were pregnant. Makes me feel better 😊. Maybe get an early detection one before so you know?

BFN for me this morning! Gutted but at least we have Christmas to look forward too!🤷🏽‍♀️💔

@Mariex1989 - yes the MMC was tough going. So too was the MC but I've had an 8 month break and dealt with the emotional side of it all during that time. I now feel ready again. Sorry to hear about your dad. The firsts are the hardest too. But do have a drink in his memory, it won't harm you. I was a real party girl when I fell pregnant with DD and she's fine...sorta! Lol!

@ELBlack - I had symptoms of the flu when I was pregnant with DD! I honestly thought that I was just ill especially because I wasn't actually trying for a baby at that time. It turns out that I ovulated the day after I finished AF!

@jasmineh - I agree with @Mariex1989. Try again in a couple of days time. Still early days. I've been ttc-ing for about 3 years now. I know I've got good egg reserves because I had all the checks when I had my IVF round and DH has some good swimmers too which makes it all the more frustrating why I'm not holding a baby in my arms right now! But the egg reserves don't indicate the quality of my eggs unfortunately. But there must be a good one in there somewhere!
How do you check your cervix? I've never done it before.

I had a drink last night...thoroughly enjoyed it and determined not to put too much pressure on myself like I did before. I'm 6 DPO and will test at 21 DPO because then if AF hasn't shown on Christmas Day, it should be a BFP!

This may be further up the thread already, but have any of you ladies got DC's already or is this your first time TTC?

@Foundmyfeet haha that made me laugh “sorta”. Yeah I will just won’t go mad. But at the same time I’m not convinced I’m going to get a BFP this month. AF twinges have stopped and no hint if my usual PMS symptoms which is very odd for me. But I’m sure she’ll surprise me when I least expect it 😂.
You’re so patient not to test until then! Good on ya!

@Foundmyfeet it's weird though because it's not all the time. I just get random bursts of croaky voices, sneeze fits and the either runny nose or blocked up. Then nothing for a ages, so I'm sure it's just dust or something 😞

I've got no other symptoms today. Feeling surprisingly normal! How about you?

If you feel your cervix it changes throughout the month. Most of all at ovulation. It’ll be high soft and open when you’re most fertile!

@Mariex1989 thank you! I'm a bit like @Amyc94 in that it's our first month trying and said I'd keep it calm but when WFH you can't think about much else and end up POAS and analysing every individual temp and symptom.

We've also been together a long time and married for 4 years so it's taken us a long time to get to this point too! But once you make up your mind you want to know your body is working properly straight away.. I've been on the pill without a break for 13 years. I'm 30 now.

@Emmgrem absolutely! It’s torture really isn’t it 🙈. Keep us posted if you start getting any symptoms and your tests
WFH is the worst for this. I was adamant I was going to hold off testing but the more I’m googling and thinking about it I’m tempted to go get some tests tomorrow.

Started getting some little twinges again today. Still no PMS boobs though, really odd for me. No doubt the minute I get some tests AF will show up!

How’s everyone doing?

I got my 🙂 on Clearblue advanced on Saturday Morning and had a tiny dot streak of light blood in my CM Sunday night. so I'm predicting I'm about 4-5 dpo. So very early for any symptoms which I'm totally aware of but I've become a symptom spotting crazy lady out of nowhere!!

So far I've had the random dull sensation varying from left side uterus to middle since Monday. On Tuesday I had a a kind of cm that I've not had before, Wednesday I started with a ache at the base of my back which hasn't gone away and today 4or5dpo I've had cramps ALL DAY. They haven't gone! They don't hurt but it's like a constant dul pulling I keep describing it as "I can feel my insides when normal I can't" if that makes sense? 🤣 and my nipples are sensitive not sore but I keep noticing them.

Just needed to share all this information so I don't go even more crazy from torturing and keeping it to myself!
