Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

I'm on cycle day 20 and did an opk out of curiosity as I've been getting very stretchy cm for days and some pains. My app came up and said it was positive. Is it normal for me to ovulate this late?

Thank you everyone! I’m pretty shocked but have had bad lower back pain all day so hoping this isn’t going to be a chemical 🙄🥺 sort of has ruined the happiness as now I’m just wondering if it’s not meant to be🤷🏽‍♀️

jessi60 · 20/12/2020 16:32

Hi girls, thought I would offer some advice although I’m sure some of you already know this.

I had my implant removed end of September then took the pill for a couple of weeks and then stopped altogether and had my withdrawal bleed followed by my actual period 28 days later on the 8th November. I’ve recently got my BFP last week, was so shocked as it was only our first proper month of trying. I was taking pregnacare pre conception. Download the pre mom app to track things and to upload your opk tests. I was using the wilko own brand for a little bit but honestly buy the easy at home opks from Amazon they are so much better and easier to read!! X

jessi60 · 20/12/2020 16:37

@jasmineh 🤞🏼 The first test you uploaded on here looked positive to me x

jasmineh · 20/12/2020 16:40

@jessi60 yeah I could see something in person so looks like my hcg is going up but concerned about this back ache!!!🙄

Mariex1989 · 20/12/2020 19:02

@jasmineh that looked like a really good line so hopefully it’s a sticky one for you this time! Keep us updated 😊 x

jasmineh · 20/12/2020 20:21

@Mariex1989 I hope so🤞🏼🌈 I will do and when are you retesting?!

ELBlack · 20/12/2020 20:27

Hi ladies, is it possible to get implantation bleeding 12dpo? I've had some brown sludge, shall we say. Very minor. Sorry tmi! Just thinking it might be too late for implantation now and likely AF arrival...

dramallama7 · 20/12/2020 20:32

I'm a similar age to you and this was our first month ttc, came off pill 7th nov, just took a test this morning it was negative, and now have cramps/start of period. It's so silly as it's the first month but it's really upset me and I've been down all day, I was imagining how lovely it would be to find out your pregnant at Christmas time. I was so excited at first but already worrying about the possibility of it not happening. Good luck everyone.

Mariex1989 · 20/12/2020 20:37

@jasmineh I think I’ll do another in the morning. I keep thinking is it likely to get 3 tests all with the indent lines? Just bad luck probably. We’ll see anyway. I’m starting to get lower back/thigh cramps now so maybe AF will be here before I even do the test.

@ELBlack I think it can take up to 12dpo to implant so you never know! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

jasmineh · 20/12/2020 20:40

@Mariex1989 I definitely saw a line on the one you posted!!! My back ache has got mild now but been pretty bad all day so can relate to you thinking af is coming! But when you google it lots of people say they experience cramping!! I will also test again in the morning to hopefully see a line progression

ELBlack · 20/12/2020 20:42

@Mariex1989 thanks! I'm sure it's AF, but I am going to leave until weds if its not here and test. If its BFN I want to leave it as late as possible so I'm not clinging onto hope that's not there

Mariex1989 · 20/12/2020 20:51

@jasmineh that’s good that it’s eased a bit. Did you tell your OH about your positive? How did he react?
I keep running to the loo to check cos I’m convinced it’s coming 🙈. My friend said she put off testing for ages as she thought AF was about to come but she was pregnant.

@ELBlack completely understandable. I was going to wait but I told my partner and he’s as impatient as I am 😂 even he could see my faint line and he’s as blind as a bat usually so gave me a bit of hope x

ELBlack · 20/12/2020 21:05

@Mariex1989 got my fingers crossed the line gets darker for you! X

Emmgrem · 20/12/2020 21:24

@dramallama7 we came off pill at a similar time then as I was 1st nov. Going to test at 11DPO on Xmas morning so I know if I can drink 😬 worried it'll make it even more disappointing getting a BFN on Xmas day though. Really don't want to put myself in a bad mood on my favourite day.

dramallama7 · 20/12/2020 21:42

@Emmgrem I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! It would be so lovely to get a positive on Christmas Day. I wish I had of came of the pill months ago to get my cycles back to some normality but I was a bit naive about it all

jasmineh · 20/12/2020 21:51

@Mariex1989 yes I told him today! He was so happy especially because it is his birthday! My heart could have burst🥺❤️ Yeah exactly, lots of people think the same as your friend!!! Let us know in the morning!

Mariex1989 · 20/12/2020 22:17

@jasmineh awww how lovely! Best birthday present ever!
I will do 😊 eeep I’m nervous 😂

Alicia870 · 20/12/2020 22:49

Hi all can I join? I'm planning to test Christmas Day as I reckon even if it's negative there will be less sting in it as I'll be happy it's Christmas and I can have a drink. I'm 8dpo today! I had a chemical in October and a late loss earlier this year X

ELBlack · 21/12/2020 07:47

Morning all, greeted by AF today 😭. Really hoping to see some BFP's from all who are still waiting!

Mariex1989 · 21/12/2020 08:28

@ELBlack sorry to hear about AF!
I got a BFN this morning so I’m out. At least we can drink all the wine on Christmas 😊 silver linings.

@Alicia870 hi! That’s a good plan. Hopefully you can hold off until then 😂

Emmgrem · 21/12/2020 08:32

@Alicia870 me too with the Xmas day testing! I'm 7DPO today. Thinking wine, blue cheese and not having to hide anything from family if it's a BFN.
But planning to wrap up a baby grow and the test for my DH if it's positive!

ELBlack · 21/12/2020 08:39

@Mariex1989 sorry to hear that! We bought a magnum of champagne as there were meant to be 8 of us. Only 4 now, so it will definitely be put to use 😂

Mariex1989 · 21/12/2020 08:48

@ELBlack haha absolutely! Make the most of it. It is gutting but think it’s easier with having Christmas as a distraction 😊
Think I’m only going to do another cycle or two as I really need to start my wedding diet 😂.

Next time I’m absolutely not using frer’s though. There’s been “faint lines” on them all so really bad indent lines

ELBlack · 21/12/2020 09:20

@Mariex1989 ah god the dreaded wedding diet 😂 I remember it well! My seamstress was still taking my dress in 2 days before lol! Best of luck with all the wedding prep etc, such a happy time.

Ah, that's something to bear in mind for sure! I've decided this cycle once my period finishes, my husband and 1 are going to dtd every 2/3 days throughout the month, and then just wait until AF is due and test (I say this now, haha). I can't be doing with all this peeing in cups, tww, symptom spotting. It just makes it harder when you get the BFN.

On another note, does anyone know if you should continue to take folic acid with AF? I started taking it in October and this is my first period since my coil was removed beginning of Nov so not actually sure if you break, or continue...
